The budget bill was sent back to the House today (July 2nd, 2025) for what could be the deciding vote. The plan is to try to have it on the president's desk to be signed by July 4th. Between now and then, we need to be calling our Representatives, commenting on their social media posts, and doing anything else we can (peacefully) do to keep it from passing.
Many Republican Representatives are nervous about actually passing the bill as is because its effects will be immensely unpopular with their constituents. Use that to your advantage. Call and tell them that you are a constituent and that you want them to vote no on the budget bill (H.R. 1) because it will cut funding to medicaid (add on any of the other horrible cuts and consequences listed in this graphic or that you know of as well). Tell them that you will not vote for them if they vote to pass this bill (a congressperson's biggest fear is losing their position).
If this bill passes, people will literally die. People, including children and their disabled, will not have access to life-saving healthcare through medicaid, and health insurance costs will go up for everyone else. Without SNAP, children and their families will go hungry. ICE funding will be vastly increased, allowing them to hunt down more immigrants and people of color and place them in what are essentially concentration camps ("Alligator Alcatraz" is a concentration camp and potentially a death camp given the lack of AC and utilities, all in the Florida summer heat). The national debt will increase by trillions, which will in turn cause interest rates.

Smoking rates are stupidly high in the queer community but especially with trans people and especially trans men. It’s common to feel peer pressured into smoking in trans spaces. And man I love this community but don’t smoke. Don’t try to encourage others to smoke. Whatever you want to get out of it there’s something else that’ll help that’s cheaper and won’t fill your lungs with tar and dried blood. Caffeine, lollipops, adhd meds, chewing on pens, dying your hair, sex, therapy, an appointment with a dietician. Try any of these things and more before even looking at nicotine.
The more important piece of information for transmascs is that smoking fucks with your testosterone levels. Everyone at every step of the transition process will ask if you smoke and it'll make things more difficult for you if you do.
also it's so inconvenient. packs cost ridiculous amounts of money, you'll get holes and yellow stains in your clothes, and there are so few places that allow smoking that to feed your addiction you'll be stuck outside in shitty weather so many times

hi hello again it’s silver cherrysnax asking for help again. pride month edition
as stated in my previous post, we are not doing so well! my gf and I have drained our savings trying to keep my family afloat and for the first two months it worked. but my health is getting worse and with the rise of costs and the shutting down of the only hospital near me that takes my insurance… it’s hard
I can’t work until September, and my gf is currently getting very chaotic and short shifts. but literally no one else is hiring in my small town.
our main priority is feeding 8 people + a cat, making sure I can get to and from my new hospital (and can afford it if they don’t take my insurance), getting my gfs estrogen, and my various meds (inhaler, antidepressants, metformin etc)
when I have the energy I will set up a first come, first serve bust commissions page, however I am chronically ill— those will likely take time to be finished.
Thanks again for reading, these posts get harder and harder to make, but thankfully they are becoming rare. hopefully soon we’ll never have to make one again :)

Hey guysss my hours have sort of been cut for early summer/end of the school year bc receptionist staffing depends on how many doctors are working and all of our doctors are moms.
My last check wasn’t even $450. It’s a sad time to get behind not just bc of pride and Juneteenth but bc our anniversary and birthdays are all coming soon back to back 🥹 and rn there isn’t a lot of wiggle room for gifts or celebrations which is really stressing me out tbh- it’s our 3rd year and we’re really excited regardless but it ofc feels bad to be so limited. we are also trying to somehow make a new car happen asap, for rn we’re surviving this heat wave in a car we were gifted for free with no ac and 1 functional window (+ a little sunroof)
