i’m moving interstate on tuesday and i’ve been excitedly compiling a list of all the things im going to make my best friend/housemate watch with me once he’s no longer protected by being 1,215km away. he knows full well that i will straight up pause what we are watching and patently wait for him to be available so he doesn’t miss a single scene so guess what poor high school teacher is gonna be doing his marking to fantasy high for the rest of the term!

rn the list currently includes:

- fantasy high (all seasons)

- murderbot - i’d make him read the books but, despite being a high school teacher, buddy is illiterate

- hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (2001) - been trying to show him this for years because it’s my favourite movie of all time but it’s been surprisingly hard to source and his TV hated my hard drive

- the live action one piece - i found the pacing of it to be really good and was happy to watch it knowing that Oda was involved in casting and other stuff

- black clover

- 3 body problem - he probably won’t understand it any better than i did but i really enjoyed it anyway

- snowpiercer - god i love daveed diggs and id watch him in just about anything but also it was really good

- castlevania (nocturne too)

- falling skies (if anyone can tell me where i can watch the full thing without paying through the ass, i would super appreciate it)

it also being widely accepted that mage babies aren’t able to concentrate their spells yet (on account of being babies with chubby hands, imperfect or nonexistent diction, and no arcane focuses) and are more likely to end up contracting a hex or a curse from other mage babies at the childcare due to a phenomenon called “infant spellslinging” (the lil babbies dunno what they’re doing and that magic gotta go somewhere)

schools putting out warnings about hexes and curses the same way they’d put out warnings about kids at the school having nits or there being a stomach bug going around

okay but murderbot’s internal narrative about its PreservationAux clients is actually so so so cute

aside from gurathin who it does think about a lot but those thoughts are usually “i’m so much better than gurathin because i process things faster, i don’t understand why he doesn’t think these guys like him when they clearly like him a whole bunch and i don’t know why they like him at all”, the three humans it thinks about the most are mensah, ratthi and pin lee, and it has overwhelmingly positive thoughts on the three of them aside from the very obvious annoyance that all three are good natured and keep getting themselves into Situations™️

also the apple TV show did my wife pin lee and my husband ratthi so dirty. it showed none of pin lee’s other assorted skills (like how she and baradhwaj were the ones who removed the combat override module, or all her sick ass hobbyist hacker skills or explained why she was the one who went with gurathin to launch the beacon) and reduced ratthi to comedic relief
