Just to raise awareness at the situation in Canada right now to my non-Canadian followers: Toronto has been ranked as having the worst air quality in the world right now due to wildfires.

Toronto is not a wildfire-prone area. It is extremely close to the USA border, and the smog is currently affecting NY right now. There is literal chunks of debris in the air. The sky is orange, and the sun is nowhere to be seen.

Climate change and its effects are right outside your door. Data centres are the cause for the insane heat waves across the globe, and the increase in wildfires and other natural disasters.

You will watch recordings of the world burn around you, and only when you are behind the camera will you realize there is no going back.

Stop the data centres. Protect our planet.

The above is a picture of toilet paper rolls. Toilet paper, in the early twenty-first century, is used to wipe away excrement. Physically the rolls consist of a (usually) soft tissue wrapped around a cardboard base. The cardboard exists to provide structure to the product, which is unwrapped and torn from the roll before use, providing an axis that the roll had spin on as a user pulls the sheets off. It is not strictly necessary, and some toilet paper rolls omit it entirely.

When a roll is complete, it is useless and can be recycled.

In the above picture, each of the rolls depicted have been depleted beyond general use. The small bits of toilet paper visible would not be considered sufficient in quantity to serve on their own. It is common to toss the roll away at this point. However, an individual who is especially frugal might feel compelled to use even these last scraps, potentially in combination with the start of another roll.

"There is still meat on them bones" is used to humorously convey this frugal response, likening it to food that is going to waste. By analogy, the cardboard tube is the inedible bone, while the toilet paper represents the last scraps of still edible meat that would be going to waste.

People in the early twenty-first century who use toilet paper (as opposed to bidet) would not be confused by the image, the commentary, the analogy, or the sense of frugality displayed.

1. Check that you have good access to shade trees, a shelter custom made to fit you and all your friends, and plenty of good airflow

2. Find the hottest, sunniest, and least windy part of you pasture and lay down

3. Make sure you look as much as possible like you have died of heatstroke

It also genuinely really bothers me how so many people's "pro fat" posts are along the lines of "Yeah, fat is fine/good, eat whatever you want as much as you want!" Like yes that's a good sentiment and yes fear of fatness is what causes so many people to eat less than they otherwise would. I Understand This. But it's important to me that people understand. Someone being fat does not actually mean they eat more than a thin person does. Just because you're ostensibly defending or praising the fat body does not mean you aren't partaking in dangerous stereotyping

Doctors are to black women what police officers are to black men. That may seem controversial but I believe it to be true and I speak from personal experience.

If you've seen this TikTok you know that a 2016 study showed that 50% of medical students and residents thought that black people couldn't feel pain the same as white people.

And we learned from this video that because of a 1999 study, to this day, there's a black correction factor for the creatinin levels in black people's kidneys, meaning we're less likely to recieve a kidney transplant if needed.

So if you go to a doctor, feel you aren't getting proper treatment or they refuse the treatment you've requested, say to them the following:

I will need you to document on record that you are refusing the treatment (or medicine) I've requested, and the reason you are doing so."

This works. I have used it in other situations. If medical staff have to document and take responsibility and be on the hook legally for doing shady shit they behave much differently.

If you weren’t already going to spread this advice because black women are at risk, then spread it because it’s applicable to everyone else as well, including you reading this.

But particularly women, and especially black women.

I watched Iron Lung again tonight in the comfort of my home and my dog must've been watching with me cause as soon as bad things started happening to Simon she started crying. In the scene where he ultimately dies she could not stop crying at me. I am now watching him play the Henry Stickman collection so she can see that A.) He's not dead and B.) He's not in distress. Occasionally he'll whine or hum in discontent about something and my dog will look at me and whine to try and get me to fix whatever is distressing Markiplier.

there’s sixteen Colorado counties that their most searched was “wolf furry”, plus thirty-odd counties (not counting either Arapahoe or any of the ones marked here as “Insufficient Data”) which may well have had plenty of searches for “wolf furry”, just fewer than for whatever they’re labeled here

and “skunk furry” searches in Arapahoe County outnumbered “wolf furry” searches in the entire state of Colorado
