I think tonight was maybe the best night of my life. Quick exposition - I saw a musical that I was so enamoured with that I made some fanart that ended up reaching the writer/lead who invited me back to see it again, where I met the cast and was absolutely starstruck. But the thing that really pushed the whole thing to eleven was they were all calling me D’mitri, and dude, and man. 

At the start of this year I was terrified that I’d be buried in a dress and they’d call me a sweet girl at my funeral. For the last four years I just wanted to survive and didn’t even think a future would be possible for me. I didn’t have a concept that I could ever be an adult man.

Things get better, they get so much better, you just have to wait and hold on.

Gemlight, NPCs, & Town Relations

In Gemlight Hills a town is not a place, but a people. And speaking of people, in this killing game, the players will be determining the population and arrangement of the town. You’re not trapped in this killing game alone, you see, your entire family is free to join you. 

The layout of the town itself will be shaped around the players’ characters. As a township where most folks already know each other, NPCs (non player characters) lead an important role in creating the social climate. You will be allowed to create a number of family members, friends or important relations to accompany your character throughout their stay in Gemlight, though you will not be controlling them directly and they should not overshadow your character. Despite not being directly controlled by players, expect NPCs to have a subtle impact on the story. 

The town’s layout includes several districts, but player occupations will inform what buildings and workplaces exist, which will also have an influence on the town as a whole. The shape of The Hills themselves are going to be decided by the people living in them.

Gemlight Hills is a Discord-based Danganronpa X Stardew Valley crossover roleplay set in the titular Gemlight Hills. In this RP, your character will be working their 9-to-5, going home to their families every day, celebrating in holiday festivals, and competing in a life-or-death killing game to decide the fate of the town. In this world of fantasy and farming, survival is anything but guaranteed. We hope to see you there! Apps are now open!
