Hey guys,

I’m writing to you with an update I wish I wasn’t giving you, but it’s important and I’m used to sharing important events in my life with you. Usually when things happen to me, I process them and then write music about how I feel, and you hear it much later. This is something my family and I thought you should know about now.

For Christmas this year, I asked my mom that one of her gifts to me be her going to the doctor to get screened for any health issues, just to ease some worries of mine. She agreed, and went in to get checked. There were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine, but she did it just to get me and my brother off her case about it.

The results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.

She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle… Or peace of mind in knowing that they’re healthy and there’s nothing to worry about. She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She’s got an important battle to fight.

Thank you for caring about my family so much that she would want me to share this information with you. I hope and pray that you never get news like this.

The Beauty in the End

I guess the reason why something is considered beautiful, is because it has to end. If you listen to a song that keeps repeating without end, you will eventually grow tired of it, and you will never want to hear it again. But when you know something will end, when you realise something will not be yours anymore someday, that is what makes you cherish it even more. And even if you want to cry at the inevitability, even if you don't want it to end, it has to. Because eternity is emotionless. It is formless, and it is infinite. And in the end, the very essence of the beauty of this thing you cherish, is the end itself. Because it transforms, and it lives on in another way. A memory, a photograph, an echo, a shiver on your skin. The transformation makes you experience an emotion, and this emotion is what helps you realise its value. And with that transformation comes a new beginning. This beginning eventually leads to another end that other people will have the opportunity of experiencing. This will keep beauty alive in this world. So always remember, that if something is beautiful, it will eventually transform into a shape that will seem to you like the end of it. But beauty is eternal, because it is ever-changing. And that, which keeps changing this world around you, is beautiful.

The Meaning of Life

The wind may seem random, but it is the representative of all the cold and warm air fronts around the world; the different air pressures; the geography of the terrain that maintains a specific volume per square meter all around the globe; the movements of all the animals and plants and objects, down to the tiniest bacteria; their inhaling and exhaling; and ultimately, all human influence.

The ocean currents may seem random, but they are representative of the different temperatures of the water at all the latitudes and longitudes where there is water; the specific square meters of water that are heated to a certain temperature due to the position of the Earth to the Sun, the position of the body of water relative to the Earth, the depths of the water at the given areas; the underwater geography; the air pressure above and near all bodies of water; the speed and temperature at which rivers flow into the oceans; their viscosity, mineral content, the rate and volume at which the convection cycle happens, and the area around where it happens; the movements of all the aquatic plant and animal life, their body temperatures; and ultimately, all human influence.

The movements of the tectonic plates may seem random, but they are the representative of the temperature of the core, the mantle, and the crust; the percentage of every element in a specific cubic meter throughout the entire Earth; the rate and magnitude of the continuous light and thermal energy the Sun imparts onto the Earth; the number of neutrinos passing through the Earth at a given moment; the Earth's magnetic field; and ultimately, all human influence.

You may think something in your life is happening at random, but that is only because you do not see all of the reasons why. You may never see them, and in the future, you may never really understand them. But do your best to understand, because this world exists for you. You do not exist for this Earth, you exist because of it. That is why you should never be afraid of being lost or alone, there is an order to everything. You are as much a part of this Earth as it is of you: you were created by all of the atoms in the universe coming together and saying "At this specific point in time and space, a human by the name of _____ _____ will be born"; but your existence is what will give the human race of the future all of its meaning.

I have not mentioned any kinds of spiritual energy that flow through all living things, because it is only my belief that they exist, and not a worldwide verified fact. But they also play a big role in our fate. Magic most likely existed at a point in time, but humanity has lost it. Perhaps we will find it again someday. But from this loss came a great lesson: "Do not depend on a mysterious force to come and make something happen for you; be the force itself and make things happen at your own will."

Which is why people who feel lost are not truly lost, they have just forgotten one thing: the meaning of life is not to find it, but to make it yourself. Do what makes you happy. Live.
