Come Away With Me | Stemily

As selfish as he wanted to be, Stephen knew he couldn’t keep his future wife locked up in their hotel room. He had plans. Dinners on the beach. Some parasailing. Snorkeling. The works, really. They were here for only a short amount of time, meaning he needed to make the most of it with the woman he loved before they returned to the real world and work took over again. On the same hand, this was the first trip of many for them. Someday they’d come back and they could do all the exploring they wanted to. He couldn’t help it - a moment like this where he got her to himself was rare, and taking full advantage of it was something he planned on doing. Nothing could ever be more perfect that her, than this moment they were sharing. Today marked the beginning of a new chapter for them - a huge chapter at that. Stephen had felt crazy when toying with the thought of asking this gorgeous woman to marry him, knowing that it was soon and the high chances of her saying ‘no’ or running in the opposite direction were rather high. That didn’t deter him - knowing that much like he had done when he gathered up courage to confess his feelings, Stephen needed to just come out with it. And what happened? She said yes. The moment he heard that word, everything in Stephen’s life seemed to come together. Every reason why things never worked out with anyone else made so much more sense. Emily made sense to him - she was the final piece to the puzzle, the answer to all of his questions. There was a reason he didn’t believe in soulmates and Stephen was convinced it was because his soul never knew what one was - not until Emily. Funnily enough? She had been in his life, directly in front of him for all this time and not once had he stopped to think about why she invaded his mind so often, why she had such a hold on him and his heart. To make matters better? Mavi loved Emily so much. She didn’t understand the changes of their relationship at first, but now was becoming a little more accustom to how things were. Of course, them getting married would change things even more, and together they’d have to figure out the new dynamic that was their family. Added onto that was Cass, but Stephen would deal with her on his own. Right now all he cared about was the woman he loved and making her his wife.”You were worth the wait. I would’ve waited as long as I needed, as you wanted me to wait because you’re everything I’ve wanted and needed without realizing it. Now I have you…and you can be damn sure I’ll never, ever let you go.” leaning his head down, his forehead catches hers; arms wrapping tighter around her to keep her close. “Giving me a hard run for my title here, babe. Not sure you realize just how emotional you made me. Not that I wasn’t already. Being trapped, being…unhappy…those are two things I could never feel with you. You’ve made me feel more in the time we’ve been together than I’ve felt in…the last seven years. And I know without a single doubt, that I’ll keep feeling those things for the rest of our life together…and those things will only grow as we do. There’s nothing we can do, nothing we won’t get through. It’s you and I, baby…forever. God, look how cheesy you make me.” he smiles, kissing her nose, cheeks, down to her lips. His hands let go of her only to find hers, looping his fingers in-between her own. “Then let’s do it…let’s go get married. There’s got to be someone around here that’s ordained.”
Maybe time outside wouldn’t be such a bad thing, and after all she wouldn’t complain. A great view with a great man was something she couldn’t pass up right? After all this was their first real trip together, a romantic holiday they will probably look back on and smile. That probably wouldn’t be a very interesting story if they just stayed inside. Their relationship had been so damn perfect that Emily could almost say she was living in a dream, their anniversary was on freaken Christmas for peat sake, it was crazy to think how magical everything had fallen into place. Emily loved it and she honestly wouldn’t have it any other way, a perfect little love story that was her own well her’s and Stephen. The word obsessed could come to the way she felt about Stephen, not the weird stalker type but it was more like she was insanely obsessed with the love she felt for him and that was enough to make her completely relaxed and happy about life. It seemed so much easier having Stephen by her side, life seemed to be so much more happier and easier with their love coming together. Knowing he loved her back just made everything so much more perfect, at first she just saw herself as a woman coming into a married man’s life and disrupting it all and making him unhappy. It was crazy to think everything didn’t go down in that way, in fact it went in Emily’s favor where she didn’t turn out to be second best at all. That was something she was afraid of, being some rebound from what seemed like a perfect love story. Knowing he had been through hell and back in a marriage that didn’t work out for him only made Emily yearn to make his life so much easier than Cass did. He deserved to have a beautiful relationship with someone who would make him happy, a relationship where he could tell her everything without worry of judgement. That was her definition of a relationship and a happily ever after, that lasted one hell of a long time. Saying ‘I love you’ and now getting engaged seemed like their perfect start, anyone could say it was all happening so fast but to Emily? Hell no, she knew when she would put a ring on her finger and have a different last name that it would be with the right person. The person who would make her question why she didn’t go through with her actions sooner, and that person was Stephen. “Now there’s no more waiting, there’s just us and our lives together. And you know what? I would’ve risked it all, all the pain and doubts just for the chance to be standing her with you. You don’t ever have to let me go baby, I am all yours forever and that won’t change because my love for you is stronger than anything I’ve come across” she replied feeling so perfect and content in his arms, never wanting to let go of his touch as she ran her finger tips softly over his arms massaging them lightly. “I mean it Stephen, I love you and that means something to me it’s not just words. That means my goal is to make you happy, you being happy is the most perfect sight to me and hearing you were unhappy hurts me because I know I never want to make you feel like that. I don’t care what anyone else says. It’s always been you, I may have not known it then but I do now and the truth is I want everything you want, and I want them with you. You have made me so happy, and I will spend my life doing the exact same for you. Shh I like your cheesiness as much as I love you” she teased letting giggles out at his words before attaching her lips to his for a few short moments. She gave a squeeze against his hand when he took it “I think that hotel manager seemed friendly enough to ask, I am sure he knows someone that can marry us” she said wriggling her eyebrows feeling excited at the thought of them getting married.
