Today i explained to my brother what a stim was.

He's two years older than me but looked into neurodiversity a lot less, mostly because he's not on the internet as often. We're both autistic and I've noticed him stimming on quite a few occasions, so y'know. made a joke about it, he didn't know what stimming even was or that he was doing it.

so once i explain to him what a physical stim is, he pauses me and says, right out of the blue, "so does me throwing it back whenever i'm walking through the house alone count as a stim? because I thought it was just a habit."

I had so so many questions. I ended up just saying yes and moving on.

saltpep would probably bottle up their feelings to the point where it was honest to god painful to be around each other and they'd slowly grow apart because of it.

and then they'd meet again in a couple... months? years? you take the pick for how long these two motherfuckers would function without each other, and then they'd have to spend time together again/work together and all those old, painful feelings are brought up to the surface. And they hurt, more than they did before because it's ignited ten times brighter after being pushed to the bottom for so long.

neither of them want to be there! they didn't want to see the other again! but here they are, and there's no way to avoid the elephant in the room and both of them just want it to go back to the way it was because even if it was painful at least they still talked. Now there's nothing to indicate that either of them had ever been friends in the first place and it's such a pivotal point of both of their lives that it's just.... oh fuck i fucked up bad isolating myself from you. They miss each other so much and :sob:

And then eventually on like, a drunken night, they just let everything out. they both pretend not to remember it in the morning but they both do and it fucking. hurts. i love making saltpep pine so much it hurts because it's so in character.
