LIV: All I can do is apologize. He’s testimony helped put the man away.
LIV: You don’t have to feel bad. He’s chosen to do everything he has. Not all products of violence grow to be violent; he’s just an exception.
EMILY: Okay.

LIV: There was a case that had to do with an older man who had been taking advantage of young boys... And that some how lead back to Cassidy. He was apparently a victim of this pedophile back when he was younger. He helped nail the guy to the wall, but that’s the only thing that was done/said. I’m not sure why he smirked; other than trying to get a rise out of you.
LIV: And I’m sorry I didn’t say anything about it to you. I should have said something right away, but it was just help on a case - if you want to call it help.
EMILY: Help on a case with a man who tried to kill me but okay.
EMILY: I don't know if him being sexually assaulted is supposed to make me feel bad for his choices, but it doesn't.

LIV: Where did you see him? He didn’t threaten you or say anything inappropriate, did he?
EMILY: Down the street. He just told me he's seen you lately, smirked, and moved on with his day with a weird leer.

LIV: ...who?
EMILY: Cassidy. At least he didn't shoot me this time.

EMILY: Ran into an interesting man this morning who told me he's seen you recently.

A step towards their future had fallen exactly three years ago to the day. Olivia remembered it like it was just yesterday; Noah and Oliver’s first Halloween together, waddling about the streets of New York, gracing everyone with their cuteness. It was even more special, in a sense, that Emily’s parents had shown up to take to the streets with them. Watching Elizabeth try to keep up with rambunctious kids was far too amusing, especially in leggings and sneakers… And then they took them, despite the amount of candy that had and would be excused. She thought it to be the most perfect night, and of course, that notion had been completely solidified as the two made their way up to the roof to enjoy the rest of the night alone. Eyes watered almost immediately as they landed upon carved pumpkins; her now fiancée sitting amongst them. ‘Will you marry me?’ perfectly carved into orange globes that glowed a practical beacon for their days to come. Halloween 2015 was literally the best days of her life; those including the addition of a tiny human not included, of course.
And here there were; three years later. A lot had happened between then and now. There was love, and there was loss. Those close to the pair were held near and dear. Both women had their walls. Hell, both women had a lot of walls. So, when they were close, they were close. A part of Olivia thought they should wait until there was time to plan the big old extravagant ceremony for those they actually let in, but it was supposed to be a day about them. The fill-in lieutenant was well under the impression that they would be handed their asses once everyone found out they went off to the Justice of the Peace to actually say ‘I do,’ but she couldn’t wait any longer! And she very well couldn’t make Emily wait either. She agreed that a piece of paper wasn’t something needed to confirm who they were to one another, nor did she think they would be incomplete without it. However, she wanted to have the simple pleasure of being able to call Emily Prentiss her wife! She was far more excited than she could ever possibly voice. They were finally going to say those two magical words!
A dress had been purchased and everything to help aid in the fond memories of the day everything changed – even if it wasn’t going to change all that much. They were both still going to be very much in love with one another, loving mothers and excellent friends. And after jumping herself into a pair of spanx, the native New Yorker poured herself into a white, one dress that hugged in all the right places ( thanks to said spanx ). Nerves bubbled up as she threw a lightweight trench coat to cover up the dress, as they got ready, before Emily could actually lay eyes on it. They may have been scurrying off to marry each other post haste, but there had to be some level of mystery! “Are you ready?” Olivia spoke softly, as she looked in her lover’s direction; her smile so damn wide she could most likely land a plane with such a brightness.
The week had been short providing Emily Prentiss the time needed to complete the most important task of her life. Perhaps calling it a task was a bit out of place considering Olivia Benson was anything but. Over a decade had been spent trying to find the proper footing for a stable foundation. Over a decade of near misses. Over a decade of other lovers trying to fill the void they left for one another. While most would look back on the time as missed the acting chief of the BAU saw it as necessary. Why? No one could question whether they were meant to be or not. People, death, distance, time couldn’t pull their hearts from one another. Soulmates fated to be with one another… or that’s exactly how Emily Prentiss saw it. Olivia Benson as quite literally her other half. With the brunette by her side things just made sense.
Wheels touched down just before two o’clock with the anxious woman aboard. Today was the day. Nerves buzzed through veins and heart pounded. The go bag was grabbed from the seat beside her as the woman rushed off the private jet and into a car service taking her home. Fingers itched to call Penelope; the woman would know just what to saw to calm the electric air around. However, the fizzling atmosphere was something to be cherished. A smile remained on lips as the brownstone came into view. Home. No matter how many places they lived or visited this is where they made a life with one another. This is where they became one unit. Feet rushed inside to change as she was meant to meet Olivia in a few short minutes. Hair was thrown into rollers as a white capped sleeved sheath that ended just above the knee with a slit up the back was shimmied into. Make up was touched up before rollers pulled from her hair and a Burberry trench pulled on over the dress before the woman was out the door.
It felt like tires came to a screeching halt outside of the courthouse, which they did not, before the woman all but threw herself out with a very large bill thrown the mans direction. Red soled shoes carried the woman inside and towards her lover, a bright smile on her face. “Hey.” Her voice was breathy as she reached the other. “I’ve been ready for years.” Grabbing the lieutenants hand, she pulled her into a sensual but public appropriate kiss before taking a step back. “I have the license.” Thanks to the work of federal judges who Emily grew up calling ‘aunt’ and ‘uncle’ one had been expedited for the day. “We only have a few minutes before my mother and Garcia start blowing up our phones.” Chuckling, she offered it to the other in case she wanted to look everything over. “All we have to do is say ‘I do’ and sign on the line along with a witness.” Almost on cue, Donald Cragen made his presence known. A surprise for her bride! The man had been a father like figure to the hard headed detective for years so it only seemed right he was the one there to witness the union.

FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
LIV: It was moments like this that Olivia absolutely cherished. And yes, sometimes there were kids climbing all over them, but they were their moments. The kiss had caused a rather dreamy sigh to fall from curved lips as they continued to speak. A curve that only grew in size as time went on. Chocolate hues twinkled at the thought of simply marrying the other. There didn't need to be a big ceremony. Hell, a part of her didn't want a big one, but it would definitely happen in the future. Emily deserved such a happiness! Her arm bent to allow her to cup the side of the other woman's face as she narrowed her eyes slightly at the timeframe being thrown out there. "I would honestly love to be able to say 'I do' on the day I said 'yes'... even if it is three years later." Her thumb brushed along Emily's bottom lip as her gaze dropped and then picked up to matching orbs. "Emily Prentiss, will you marry me in four days?" It wasn't exactly romantic, and they were both in sweats, but they had already did the grand gesture. Pumpkins still stand out in the lieutenant's mind when it came to the woman that she loved asking her those four words!
EMILY: Three years later. The thought still made the woman laugh. Most married within a year of saying yes, but here they were waiting years. Of course, it still didn’t matter to Emily if they ever walked down the aisle as long as they were together. Family and friends were dying for that moment though and she was a bit of a people pleaser. “I think I was the one who mentioned getting married on Halloween so the asking wasn’t needed.” Laughing, she leaned in for another kiss before settling back down on the couch. “You do realize my mother is going to kill us both, right?” A thought that only made her want to do it more. “I’ll make sure the team knows I’m off the books Wednesday through Friday.”
FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
LIV: Her arm moved to wrap around Emily's shoulder, mindful of not pinning her arm down, as she rolled into the woman slightly to press their bodies together. A brow quirked as the other spoke; her smile very much present through it all. "My heart has been yours for nearly a decade now, Emily Prentiss, but I would like to be able to call you my wife in the future." Lips moved to capture others in a sound kiss. "It doesn't have to be tomorrow, even though I'd still be okay with a Justice of the Peace doing so before an a big ceremony, but it's something I'd like to happen. We have been through so much. It would be nice to be able to stand in a room and point you out to another while saying 'That's my wife.'" She chuckled slightly, squeezing the other into her.
EMILY: Their bodies still fit together rather well considering the ample breasts both women seemed to be blessed with. Honestly, it was a mystery how well they seemed to fit! Of course, having breasts pressed together was always one of the woman’s favorite - or having them pressed against the other in any manner. The kiss was returned; soft and slow. “I would be more than okay with going to the Justice of the Peace, Liv. We just have to have an actual wedding ceremony at some point.” The hand upon the others back fanned out and trailed up as far as possible with the others arm around hers before dragging back down. “I would even suggest Halloween considering it’s when we got engaged…. three years ago.” The last part was said low with a teasing edge.
FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
LIV: "It truly is. I feel like my heart breaks for tragic stories more often than not. I've taken to watching puppy videos at work, when things get a little too intense, these days." Because while she may have been SVU, things had changed. She had changed. "Maybe a little." She really couldn't argue that one. For decades, Olivia eat, slept and lived SVU. However, she walked away before. She could do it again. People just needed to have faith! Because talks of her sticking around was had within the precinct, and she set the record straight there. She was helping out, but she wasn't going to become a permanent fixture once more. A light hum vibrated cheeks as Emily's hand wandered. It was so nice to be able to just lay with one another. Usually there was some sort of mini climbing over them. "Please, we both know we're not taking off rings and going separate ways." They had been through too much! "My fiancée." A kiss was pressed to her favorite pair of lips. "The woman that I love." Another kiss. "The woman I plan on marrying." Her hand slipped back from the side of Emily's face to wrap around her neck.
EMILY: It was disheartening to think of the other having to watch puppy videos to cheer up, but at least they were cute! However, the woman was able to swing right back into SVU due to the large amount of time previous spent there. It was part of who Olivia Benson was. The cheese was unreal bringing laughter and a smile to the woman’s face. “I’m okay if we stay forever fiancee’s, Liv. Truly. Everything is already set up as if we’re married.” Attorneys had made sure of that. “And I know where your heart belongs.”
FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
OLIVIA: "One would think in the year 2018 there would be teleportation already... Then again, if you look over a news article or actually tune in on TV, there's been some major fall backs to previous days with the crimes and terrible thoughts that are around these days. I need everyone to move towards progression once more." Brows rose as she shook her head. "I'd just like science to make it easier for you to go to work and still be home at for dinner, when not on a case." A slight pout poked out as she looked in the other woman's direction. Emily was her everything (aside from the kids). This whole being back at work thing was messing up their retirement! "I don't know. They may be trying to keep me. They may be trying to save money. Either way, they'll have to promote Fin and get some new people in there soon enough! I'm not going to fill in permanently here." Because SVU had a tendency to suck her in, and there was no doubt in her mind that Emily would have none of that. Rolling over to lay face-to-face, Olivia's hand came up to gently trace along her fiancée's face. "I miss you far more than a retired woman should miss her retired lover." A small chuckle fell from lips as she cupped the woman's cheek and pouted once more.
EMILY: Progression would be a wonderful thing! However, scientific advances have yet to come close to what the women needed to stay close during work days. “The news is depressing now a days.” Which is why Emily chose to watch other things during evenings off. The closeness shared in the current moment was rare so Emily was going to drink it up. Smiles, touches, soft words, it was perfect. The perfect lazy evening. “You are SVU.” Which is exactly why the agent was so worried about the lieutenant back behind a desk. Fears had not been vocalized consider the situation at hand, but it certainly showed every now and again if one truly looks in brown eyes. It was different for Emily. She loved the job but it had never been number one to her. Walking away was easy because number one was at home; her family. It was so much harder for Olivia which was one of the things Emily admired about the woman. As the other turned, her hand trailed to the olders lower back. “lover?” A brow quirked. “Not even a fiancee anymore?” She chuckled. “I suppose we can return rings and get separate homes if you would prefer.” She teased.
FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
OLIVIA: It only made sense that they asked Emily to take over the unit on a more permanent position, since she was a born leader, but knowing that she turned it down to eventually return to their previous family ways was absolutely heartwarming. Both women had grown so much over the years! Her lips curled into a smile as they were met with a lingering kiss. This is what she missed! “I completely understand not wanting to leave them stranded. And you’ve been doing a pretty good job trying to balance it all - even though I wish you could some how base yourself out of New York, so you didn’t have to drive so much...” And go into work in general. Warmth spread as fingers fanned out against flesh. It felt wonderful, causing Olivia to lean into her fiancée. “I’m not entirely sure why the budget is so out of whack with the amount of solved cases.” A heavy sigh escaped her just before she rolled her head to face Emily with a small smile. “Do you know how long you’ll be in DC?”
EMILY: Being based in NYC would be ideal but then she wouldn’t be running the team she current was. In fact, if NYC had asked her to return there was a higher chance of turning them down just because she didn’t have the time to bond with them like the DC team. “Cars, trains, and planes have become a second home.” She chuckled in an attempt to make light of the situation. It was strange to be away so much but absolutely nothing she could do about it. Well, there was something but the thought wasn’t going to be entertained. “They’re just trying to keep you.” The free shoulder shrugged. “Which is completely understandable considering your skill, intelligence and passion for the job.” Olivia used to breathe SVU. Finger gave a gentle squeeze to the woman side as a sigh of her own escaped. “Monday and Tuesday for certain. If we catch a case it could be longer. However, I trust the team to do a well enough job I can be home Wednesday and Thursday night after leaving the office.” The first two days of the week were generally slammed with paperwork and meetings.
FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
OLIVIA: "We shall see about that one! You are an amazing leader. I'm waiting for them to try to talk you into moving to DC full time and working until you're ready to retire." And honestly, she wouldn't blame them if they did! Especially since Emily was a great addition to the team, and her leadership skills were off the charts. And while she certainly wasn't going to say it out loud in that moment, Olivia wouldn't be mad at living in the country's capital. It wasn't Italy, but they were rather good state side. "I'd rather not think about SVU disbanding, right now. I put far too many years of my life into that unit to have it crumble... I've heard the way the other departments speak of some of the cases that come across the unit's desks. People are so damn crude."
EMILY: “They’ve already tried. They know where I stand.” One shoulder shrugged. As much as she loved the job, which was a lot since she was able to have somewhat normal office hours, she loved her family more. “I’ve got a family and they are more important.” A lingering kiss was pressed to her fiancée’s lips before she pulled back to speak again. “However, I’m not going to leave them stranded without a leader. Rossi refuses to step up and, as much I love the others, no one else on the team is really leader ready. They all go with their hearts too much.” Which is probably why almost every single one had been through hell in the past few years. Another reason Emily was happy to pass up the offer. “You guys are more important.” And that’s what mattered. Fingers spread out across the brunette’s abdomen before dragging to Olivia’s side to hook around. “They wont disband. They just need to regroup. The city needs to figure out their budgets and let you go.” They still had Fin, after all, and that guy was a fantastic leader! Not that Emily would voice that in case her lover was offended by the notion.

FOREVER FIANCEE IS OKAY
OLIVIA: A content sigh bubbled passed lips as others found her cheek. It was nice to be able to just be with her fiancée. Don't get her wrong, she loved their family very much so, but there were often periods where the two didn't have alone time whatsoever. A slight pout formed upon lips at the thought of Emily leaving the following day. "I'm going to call you in sick, one of these days, so I can see more of you than I have recently." Brown eyes fluttered shut as her hand came up to rest upon the arm wrapped around her. "I'd like to go back into retirement already." She chuckled, shaking her head. Olivia loved working in SVU, but she also loved living life to the fullest with their family.
EMILY: It was amusing to hear Olivia talking in such manner about Emily’s job. Before, it was the agent silently begging the other to call in sick. My my my how the tables have turned. Lips curled to a smile as a blanket was thrown over their lower halves. One leg settled between Olivia’s two, her elbow pressed against the cushion beneath them to prop her head up, and her hand slipped under the others shirt to rest upon skin instead of just being wrapped around. “They’ll get someone hired soon enough.” She hoped. She stayed behind this past week to work from the office in order to go home at night. A long journey but worth it! “SVU really needs to get to hiring more or disband.” One shoulder shrugged. “I know you don’t want to think about the latter but until they’re sufficiently staffed they know you will stick around.”
