     june stayed quiet for a moment, honestly UNSURE how to respond. she wasn’t accustomed to people being so forgiving towards her. especially after seeing what the hag had to offer.  ❝ well still– thanks for being cool about it. ❞ the smile on her lips faded rather quickly.  ❝ probably not the best idea. i can kind of keep her under check. but it really helps if there’s someone there to SNAP me out of it. ❞

A smirk appeared on her face as she saw a familiar face. It might be the drinks but it was most probably her knack for danger than made her moved towards June. The last encounter she had wither and the Enchantress was…something.   “ Hey, you’re the box that hides the clown. “   It was not meant to made fun of her. Just some phrase to replace the truth, that she was housing some ancient witch. No one could knew who was listening.   “ Not trying to tell you how to go on with your life but, isn’t it a little dangerous for you to be out and about with, you know, with this kind of crowd? “    She asked in a low tone.

     june had been trying her HARDEST not to be too anxious. like the parasite she was, enchantress thrived when her host was stressed and now wasn't the most ideal time for her to make her debut. which, unfortunately, only made the doctor more nervous. the sight of a familiar had her perking up slightly and it wasn't long before she GRAVITATED towards rose. ❝ i'm still really sorry about the... other day. ❞ her lips curved into a slight frown. she hated not having control. ❝ probably not. but i'm really useful in these types of situations. ❞ in other words, enchantress could END all of this in a matter of seconds if things got too out of hand.

Diamond shaped lips formed a thin line as he sucked them in, scanning the crowd. “Um, you know, yeah. It is pretty noisy in here.” He walked toward the door, holding it open for her. It was pretty nice outside, and less humid then it had been that day. “So, how has your- gala been? Is that how I should ask that? Honestly, I’m not sure.”

     the archaeologist gave him a GENTLE smile, nodding before she followed him out the door. she had to admit that she herself even felt immensely more at ease outdoors. enchantress had been oddly dormant all evening.  ❝ you’re totally fine. i’m not really used to this kind of scene either.  i actually TRY to avoid big crowds because of my... affliction. ❞

Pulling in a breath he tried to calm himself before letting out a long sigh. It was so nice to see a familiar face, it was calming in a weird way, even if they didn’t know each other that well. “Oh hello. You sound about as overwhelmed as I am.”

    june’s expression QUICKLY changed to that of sympathy. she knew better than anyone how awful it felt to be overwhelmed. she herself wasn’t entirely comfortable being at the gala, but that was mostly out of fear of the witch making an appearance. she placed a hand on the doctor’s shoulder in comfort. ❝ do you want to find somewhere a LITTLE quieter? it’ll help you calm down. i promise. ❞

It was like Bruce forgot how to be a human. What on earth. In the ten minutes he was there, he’d already ruined a woman’s scarf and made a waiter fall. To calm his nerves and for the sake of everyone else at the party, he was standing by the door, champagne in hand and was just trying to keep his hand from shaking. “Well this is going… going…”

    june was trying her best to avoid the ever-growing number of creepy older men trying to chat her up. she had always HATED coming to these kinds of things. even more so now that there was slight pressure on the pompous gathering. spotting a familiar face, the doctor quickly used it as an excuse to escape a droning politician and b-lined towards bruce. he appeared to be enjoying himself just as much as she was. ❝ going... great? i assume you’re having FUN? ❞

His held tilted, examining her eyes as the glow disappeared. How interesting. “Oh um, please don’t apologize. It’s just- “ Bruce gestured to the sky and fat, grey, rolling storm clouds were slowly making their way over head. Turning back, he leaned down and offered her a hand. “Would you like some help?”

      her gaze turns to the sky. ❝ ah, well. i GUESS you showed up just in time then. ❞ despite the foreboding weather, the doctor finds it hard to get to her feet. fighting off the hag always made her exhausted beyond belief. ❝ oh thank you. ❞ she gives him a genuinely grateful smile. though the minute she stands up, june feels herself starting to SWAY. ❝ i’m june, by the way. doctor june moone. ❞

Bruce saw a woman looking a little wary, usually he kept to himself but he also didn’t want to go back to the lab. Quietly, he walked around the lake. “Um, excuse me. Are you, alright?” He kept his distance though, not wanting to invade her space. 

     hearing another person’s voice quickly snaps june back to her senses. the supernatural glow of her eyes almost instantaneously vanishes; instead replaced by a look of PURE embarrassment. in an attempt to save face, she stumbles to her feet.  ❝ i’m... great. s-sorry, i didn’t think anyone else WOULD be out here this late. ❞

“hey there, pretty.” the sapphire muses, leaning further back in her seat as she watches the woman rise. she arrived only moments ago and if it weren’t for the good screaming at her to stay, carol would’ve went on her way. something she definitely would’ve scolded herself on later. nonetheless she’s offering a grin, studying the newcomer for a moment before rising herself. “plenty of people here, darling..they just like to hide at this hour. feeling alright?”

      june blinks in confusion. she had ALMOST anticipated being surrounded by utter chaos. maybe a few bodies. this tended to happen whenever she blacked out. instead, she found herself in the company of a rather charming stranger.  ❝ oh, hey. i’m sorry if i did anything ── ... alarming. ❞ she looks the other woman over; trying to gage her REACTION  to her own presence.  ❝ i’m okay. i’m kind of used to blacking out and waking up in random places. that, uh, sounds kind of bad, doesn’t it? i’m-i’m june, by the way. doctor june moone. ❞

out of habit, greta began to wave at the woman. “h-hi! i’m sorry if i..um..interrupted something.” she began to come inside completely, carefully closing the door behind her. “i just..i really wanted to see the library again. i won’t be much of a bother, i-i promise!” she tried to reassure the other. for the most part, she won’t really make a sound since all she does is float around and through most things.

      the young woman found herself overcome with guilt. she hadn’t meant to startle the younger girl. nor had she intended to make her feel like she was intruding.   ❝ no, no. you’re totally fine. i mean ── this place is OPEN to everyone here. ❞ june gestured to another armchair not too far off from where she had been sitting.  ❝ i was just a little zoned out. i didn’t really expect anyone else to pop in here. i’m a bit of a hermit. ❞

mary-jane is backing away from the woman as she’s waking up, but careful enough to stay close in case she needed help. it wasn’t very often that the young girl actually saw someone just arriving here so she’s a bit taken back herself. but as the womans standing and getting a sense of where she is, mary-jane is quick to offer a helping hand. “you’re okay.” she starts, knowing it can be incredibly confusing for some when first arriving. “um..why..why don’t you sit down? collect yourself for a moment and than i can explain what happened.” she offers, figure turning towards the chair near them.

      the appearance of ANOTHER person has june on the defensive. she raises her hands in an attempt at self-defence; though it’s clear that she’s in no apparent danger.  ❝ i’m so sorry. i didn’t mean to── i’m used to being on the defensive. ❞ she lets out a soft sigh.  ❝ i was literally in belle reve just a few minutes ago. i don’t... showing up here was a BIT unexpected. ❞ the doctor finds herself worrying that maybe she had ventured here as enchantress. though the girl seems genuinely kind and not horrified by her presence. june nods in agreement, taking a seat before questioning the other further,  ❝ ... where ARE we? ❞

“ Gazuntite.“ He danced down the stairs. “But, you’re in the MCU now chica, better find a way to stick out. “ He got a much closer look at the girl, rubbing his chin. “You are much prettier than the movie adaptation. So, what do you say miss moon, care to join me for a bit?” He held out his arm for her to take if she wished.

      the archaeologist merely blinked. though it wasn't long before a soft laugh escaped past her lips. ❝ you are DEFINITELY eccentric, to say the least. ❞ june honestly couldn't remember the last time she had laughed. or even felt remotely humored. ❝ i have no clue what you're talking about. but, sure ── why not? ❞ looking at him with sheer bemusement, she took hold of his arm. here's to hoping we wasn't some SERIAL killer.

the time i thought of you // not accepting.

     there's some nights that june feels ALMOST normal. when enchantress is docile; too tired to terrorize her favorite victim. in those moments, she finds herself dreaming of what her life would have been. she would've be traveling the world. living out her dream as a highly regarded archaeologist. she would have friends. there would be no more ISOLATION. no more terror. maybe she would even find love. she would have freedom. and, not too long ago, she had been so close to obtaining just that. and it's then that his face creeps into her thoughts. reminding her of the SEARING pain; the feeling of the mystical parasite clawing her way back into the doctor’s body. there was no denying that he was almost as wicked as the SHE was.  ( @hellscouser )

With a sigh, Bruce sat at the desk Scott had gotten for him to try and figure things out. He had no idea where to start. But, everything needed to start somewhere. So it stated. Hours went by and it was as if Bruce was living on a loops. Read something, write something, coffee, read something, write something, coffee, and again and again. He looked out the window at some point and it was dark. God, it must have been hours. Deciding to take a break he left the manner and walked to the lake. Was that tree… split? What on earth. He could do nothing but stand there, coffee in hand, and look at the split oak on the opposite side of the lake.

     as the days rolled on, june could feel the enchantress GROWING more and more restless. being so anxious wasn't exactly helping her in that regard. in fact, she was finding it harder to keep the hag contained. she tried her best to find solace in moments of solitude. taking walks around the mansion grounds had brought SOME relief. but tonight she found herself losing her grip. and, while she was winning this particular struggle, a nearby oak tree hadn't been so fortunate.  ❝ go to sleep. ❞ june hissed, slouching next to the tree in exhaustion.
