Virginia: Interesting. Perhaps potions and such are that way, but I feel like an actual magical spell would be much more precise than a science experiment where human sleight of hand can so easily disrupt the results. Not that I'm an expert on this sort of thing; obviously you have more ability to speak to it than I do. I suppose it depends if there's a higher being controlling the planets and keeping them from falling from the sky, don't you?

Virginia: As someone with an affinity for words, rambling isn't always such a bad thing. Unless you were particularly stupid, then I might enjoy it much less.

Rhiannon: True! I suppose they're two sides of the same coin. One side (magic) is chaos, one side (science) is order.

Rhiannon: Stupidity is never fun to deal with! Especially when people refuse to admit they're in the wrong and educate themselves.

Some songs are so sneaky about that, isn’t it incredible? Some other really notable ones are Happier by Bastille, where no one’s really very happy at all, and Pumped Up  Kicks by Foster the People, which is just… terrifying, when all is said and done! But gosh, I’m sure you didn’t need me to tell you that, you probably already knew for yourself. And oh my gosh, thank you, but I think a queen like Demi Lovato having such demons just proves that we all have our insecurities that we carry around with us! I hope some people have less than Demi and I do, though, and I hope one of those people with less is you!

Can you think of any songs that are the opposite; that sound depressing but have really happy lyrics? I definitely have my demons, and I’ve been battling them for most of my life, but I’m finally in a really good place where I feel stronger than ever. I think that’s why I want to go in to therapy, so I can help people who’ve been where I’ve been.

Hemi: I mean, not saying I never do it, but I'm not a super anxious person so I've never felt like I needed to grow it! My mom's Te Fiti, she's all about spreading life so... I spread plant life, sorry if that's a bummer!

Hemi: Have you tried melatonin? That's not a plant suggestion, that's me thinking gummy vitamins are delicious and knowing that they help me pass the heck out!

Rhiannon: I getcha. It's a weird one for me. Part of me thinks I'd be okay with it seeing as weed was never my problem, only alcohol and pills, but a bigger part of me doesn't want to risk it. That's cool, though! Magical mom gang.

Rhiannon: That's a good point. I'm weird about any sort of drug or medication and will avoid them unless they're absolutely necessary but I mean, melatonin is produced naturally by the body, and boosting it is entirely safe and healthy.

Do you actually think they’ll bring everyone over, though? Time is relative, but three years of commitment is hardly anything to scoff at! I think I'll start by asking what an average day of meals looks like to you.

Rhiannon: Okay, I'll tell you exactly what I ate yesterday. I had a couple mini granola bars for breakfast. Some grapes for a snack at about 11am. For lunch I had a roasted chickpea & avacado salad- super yummy. An apple and another granola bar at about 3ish. Then, for dinner I met up with a friend at a vegetarian eatery not far from campus and had seitan 'meat' balls with a side of mixed beans. For dessert I had a slice of vegan lemon drizzle cake. Drink-wise I like cordials and juices and a lot of water. I hope that helped! Obviously I don't always eat at fancy eateries so substitute that last one for like, some sort of rice dish and that's a pretty standard day for me.

I’m absolutely on the same page as you when it comes to jeans, although I’m much more inclined to toss a denim jacket over a more casual dress when it comes to going out on a chilly evening. It has the same limitations on movement as the pants, though, but outerwear can be removed as soon as you’re somewhere climate-controlled, and then the issue is moot. It takes one brave person who people are paying attention to and who people are inclined to want to be more like, and I feel that I fall firmly in the ‘neutral’ category in terms of Auradonian citizens. I don’t have a plethora of enemies that I’m aware of, but I don’t have friends lining up to want to be just like me, either. And from what I’ve heard of people’s opinions on the Faciliers and their tiny top hats? The feedback is not positive, I can’t imagine a full-sized hat would be received much better.

I really like a chunky cardigan instead for that. You do run the risk of looking like a grandma, but paired with something youthful it can look really cute. I’m sort of in that same middle ground. I remember when the VKs first started filtering in to Auradon, and a lot of people were instantly distrustful of us, but it’s getting so much better now. It’s so true, though, that if, say, Margaery Charming wore something completely outrageous it’d be seen as a brave but bold fashion choice and she’d be applauded for it, but if someone with hardly any friends did it, they’d be laughed it. It’s such a double standard, but sadly we can’t change the entire social order of Auradon overnight.

Virginia: It's such a fine line, isn't it? What's considered magic and what's not? Obviously powers being expelled from one's body is automatically considered magic, including powers that are only activated with say, the enhancement that comes from using a wand, but where do potions fall? Yes, they can do magical things when they're done, but if you're simply making them with no intention of ever using them, then are you really doing magic at all? Or is it merely scientific research as you've already implied?

Virginia: Don't apologize for being interesting, Rhiannon. There's simply no need, not with me at least.

Rhiannon: You could even argue that magic is a type of science in and of itself. It's much more chaotic and disorderly than most sciences, but it still has its own rules and laws. It's something inside of a person's body that, when activated, influences the natural world. Gravity comes from the Earth's mass, and influences the natural world. Isn't that, in a way, a type of magic?

Rhiannon: Perhaps not. I'm just rambling. But thank you, I really appreciate that. I could talk about this stuff for hours, it's so crazy to think about.

I guess I just love her so much that I want people to know the real her, including how she looked, but you’re right that it’s not the most pressing issue. Also, thank you! I don’t wear a lot of green myself, but maybe I should.
