This art by Hans Rudolf Giger was the inspiration for one of the creatures in the Alien movie. It is cute in a way. Or maybe I’m just weird.

The Bean-Nighe
The bean-nighe, or "washer woman" is a creature from Gaelic folklore who is related to the banshee. Like the banshee, she's associated with the Celtic Goddess of death, Morrigan. A sighting of one of these creatures is thought to be an omen of forthcoming death. A bean-nighe doesn’t have anything to with the deaths she fortells: she is simply a sort of messenger. A bean-nighe takes the form of a washer woman who resides near loches, fords, and rivers where she can be seen washing blood from the shrouds of those about die. She's often described as being grotesque with sagging breasts, red webbed feet, and only one nostril. However, she can take the form of a beautiful young woman at will according to some legends.
These creatures have been also depicted as the spirits of women who died in childbirth. According to Scottish tradition,if a woman dies in childbirth, any clothes that need to be washed must be washed immediately by her kinswoman. Otherwise, the woman will become a bean-nighe, forced to finish her washing until her natural life has passed.
One rather interesting tradition states that if a brave man will approach the Bean-Nighe and suck from her breasts, he will be granted one wish and spared death if the clothes she is washing belong to him.

Merrylin Cryptids
In 1960 in London at the time of clearing the site for construction of a new residential neighborhood, the old long-abandoned mansion belonged to Thomas Theodore Merlin was sent for demolition. In the basement of the home builders have discovered several thousand small wooden boxes tightly sealed. Imagine their surprise when they began to find inside the bodies of strange mythical creatures, which seemed to have been living only in fairy tales.
Thomas Theodore Merrylin was known as Crypto-naturalist, Fringe Zoologist and Xeno-Archeologist. Creatures and artifacts thought to be nothing more than myth. It is a mystery that challenges our understanding of biology, chemistry and the very laws of physics. But this is no fairytale, for he was a scientist, and empirical evidence and rational thought hold sway here. There is a lot to see and read, so please take your time to peruse the website.

Richard Ramirez’s Family
On the 29th of February, 1960 at 2:07 AM, infamous American serial killer Richard Ramirez was born to Julian and Mercedes Ramirez. He was the last of five children, and had three brothers and one sister.
His father, Julian, was born on February 16th in 1927. The second of eight children, he grew up on a dirt-poor farm in Camargo, Mexico. His mother, Roberta, would die when he was only twelve years old. Julian’s father, Jose Ramirez, was distraught and felt cheated having lost his wife at such a young age.
Jose was incredibly serious and rarely smiled. He was quick to beat any of his children who did not obey him.
Julian was a good son to his father. He was also the oldest son, so he was responsible for helping to raise the large family. He did all he could to help with the farm and to support his siblings.
He was beat quite brutally by his father and grandfather: he would be tied to a tree and then beaten with a rope. He handled these beatings bravely, never crying nor begging for them to stop.
Mercedes, Richard’s mother, was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado. She was one of four boys and three girls. She grew up in a family that was loving, but very poor.
Mercedes and her family relocated to Camargo, Mexico during World War II. Mercedes’ mother, Guadalupe, did not want any of her sons to be drafted into the war.
Upon moving to Camargo, Mercedes would become friends with Julian’s sister. It was through them that he first met her. They did not start dating until they were nineteen. In August of 1947, Mercedes and her family moved to Juarez, Mexico. Though Mercedes and Julian could no longer see each other after this, they continued to write to each other.
Julian was drafted into the army, where he learned to use all kinds of weapons. He later had to be discharged when he caught scarlet fever. After he returned, and had been nursed back to health, he proposed to Mercedes through a letter. She said yes, despite her mother having forbid the marriage to take place. It wasn’t often that she disobeyed her mother, but she was determined to be with Julian.
Julian moved to Juarez to be with Mercedes, even though his father and grandfather wanted him to remain on the farm. They married on the 9th of August. Some friends, but no family members would be in attendance at their wedding. They soon moved into a small apartment in El Paso, Texas with one room and a bathroom.
Mercedes and Julian would later have five children: Ruben, Jose or Joseph, Robert, Ruth, and of course, Richard Ramirez.

The Crystal Skull
A beautiful fashioned skull, cut from a single piece of clear crystal, has been the object of speculation and wonder for many years. The lower jaw of the skull can be detached, and there are small holes suggesting that there once was a some sort of mechanism that allowed the lower jaw of the skull to be moved. The skull weighs eleven pounds and seven ounces, and is made from quartz crystal. Quartz crystal is a material that has often been believed to possess “mystical” or “psychic” powers - the crystal ball, for example.
People who have kept the crystal skull in their homes have reported strange noises, such as the sound of chimes, bells, and mewing of cats. Objects have been moved about mysteriously in its presence, and the skull has been reported to produce strange scents of various sorts. People who scoffed at the skull’s powers have reputedly been suddenly stricken dead.
The skull’s origins are mysterious and controversial. It was first brought to public attention in the mid-1950s by the British traveler and adventurer F. A. Mitchell-Hedges. It had supposedly been discovered at Lubaantum, a Mayan city in British Honduras, that Mitchell-Hedges visited in the late 1920s, though all he ever said of the skull’s origins in print was, “How it came into my possession I have reason for not revealing.”
Mitchell-Hedges’ daughter Anna, who inherited the object, claims that she was the one who discovered the skull when they were in Lubaantum. However, there is no evidence that she visited British Honduras.
Joe Nickell and John F. Fischer, investigated the skull’s history and concluded that it is far more likely that Mitchell-Hedges purchased the skull at an auction at Soherby’s in London in 1944 for four hundred pounds. The previous owner was an art dealer named Sydney Burney. Prior to that, the skull had been in the possession of some unnamed collector. Most likely, none of these stories had any basis in fact, and the origin of the skull appears to be another one of his tall tales. the accounts of the skull’s mysterious powers may also be exaggerations or downright fictions.
Yet this does not entirely dispel the mystery of the crystal skull, for the skull exists, and it is a marvelous piece of workmanship - but whose? And could the skull possibly have been made by people who did not possess machine tools?
Some think the skull came from Mexico and is of Aztec or Mixtec origin, because the people of Mexico were known to use skulls as a common motif, and several small crystal skulls from Mexico have been found. However, this crystal skull is far more anatomically accurate than the usual skulls of Mexican origin. Norman Hammon, who examined the skull, has written: “It is a splendid object, of fine workmanship, I have always thought that it is most likely a memento mori [a reminder of death], of 16th-18th Century origin. While a Renaissance origin is not improbable, given the sheer size of the rock crystal block involved, manufacture in Quing Dynasty, China for a European client cannot be ruled out.
H.J. Braunholtz of the British Museum, who examined the skull while it was still in Burney’s possession in 1936, wrote of it: “Such realism seems beyond ordinary range of Aztec art, and gives the skull the character almost of an anatomical study in a scientific age.”
While many of the wilder stories told about the crystal skull are almost certainly untrue, the skull remains a marvelous and genuinely mysterious object.

Was the Moon Landing Faked?
I remember wanting so badly to be an astronaut when I was younger because my mom told me about how Neil Armstrong was the first human to walk on the moon ever. Now I question everything because of this conspiracy. There are people out there that still remember vividly as they watched one of the most legendary moments in American history; The Moon Landing, Apollo 11. What if I told you the landing was faked? Do you want some proof? Here’s some reasons that I believe the moon landing may have been faked.
1. The Flag.
In the video footage showing the astronauts planting the American flag on the moon’s surface, a slight breeze appears to be causing the flag to ripple. The flag had a rod inserted along the top edge to make it stand out, but you can clearly see creases in the flag indicating a billowing movement. There is no breeze on the moon. There is no air in the atmosphere and therefore no wind to help the flag flutter.
2. Light Sources.
The moon has only one light source—the sun. Therefore all shadows should run in the same direction and parallel to each other. This is not the case as numerous photos of the landings show shadows clearly pointing in different directions, suggesting multiple light sources from a film set.
3. Lack of Stars.
As you can tell in all pictures from the moon landing video, there aren’t any stars. Since there is a thin atmosphere on the moon, the stars should be more bright and more visible than looking at the stars from Earth.
4. The objects reflected in the helmet.
When photographs of the Apollo 12 mission were released, a clear reflection of several mysterious objects were visible in the astronaut’s visor. Studio equipment?
5. Slow-motion walking.
Low gravity conditions had to be filmed, which may have proven difficult in a sound studio. However, all they did was broadcast the footage of the astronauts walking and bouncing around in slow motion. If you take the film and increase the speed x2.5 the ‘space walkers’ are clearly moving in normal earth gravity conditions. The high bounces and jumps could easily have been achieved by wires.
6. The cross-hairs.
Each of the cameras used by the astronauts during the moon landings had cross-hairs to help with scaling and direction. These crosses then appear on the top of all the photographs. Some of the images from the Apollo missions however, clearly show the items being photographed on top of the cross-hairs, proving that the photographs were edited after being taken and processed.
7. The matching backdrop.
Two photographs from the Apollo 15 mission clearly show identical backdrops, despite NASA stating that they were taken some miles apart. If you overlap the photos, you can see that it is the same backdrop used to stage different shots.
8. The lost footage.
In 2006 it was revealed that the original high-quality video tapes of Apollo 11 had gone missing. The tapes were apparently sent by NASA to the National Archives and then returned to the Goddard Space Flight Center, but somehow had mysteriously been lost. The quality of the video that was available for broadcast was of much, much lower quality than the video that was filmed by NASA.It seems unfathomable that the footage of one of the most important events in world history is simply ‘lost’.
9. Buzz Aldrin’s confession tweet.
In 2014, Buzz Aldrin sent a tweet that was very quickly deleted.

"At 2 A.M, on August 18, fate brought the Stalker to the Pan home..." -Phillip Carlo, "The Night Stalker" Among the many victims of infamous serial killer Richard Ramirez, the "Night Stalker" are Peter and Barbara Pan. Peter was an accountant for the San Francisco General Hospital for sixteen years, and Barbara was a bank teller. Peter was described as a "smiling, upbeat, gregarious man" who was very proud of his U.S. citizenship. The couple had immigrated to Northern California from Hong Kong. They had two sons and three grandchildren. Peter was sixty-six and Barbara sixty-two when the couple faced their untimely deaths. It was the eighteenth of August, at 2 A.M when the Night Stalker broke into their two-story yellow stucco house by removing the screen from an open window. He entered the bedroom where the couple slept peacefully. These certainly were the final moments of tranquility the two would ever enjoy. Peter was killed instantly when Ramirez held his .25 to the man's temple and shot. The killer then moved on to Barbara, who he slapped, terrorized and attempted to sexually assault. She was resistant, though, and was soon shot for not being compliant. After all of this, he ransacked their home and, feeling brave, used lipstick to write on their wall: "Jack The Knife" and drew a pentagram. He then left, taking with him in a pillowcase some stolen valuables: Peter and Barbara's rings, a VCR, and a watch and cuff links that had belonged to Peter. The chaotic scene left behind by the Stalker would be found at 10:30 the next morning by their thirty-year-old son, David. He was shocked and devastated upon discovering his father dead and his mother very near to death. What happened to the Pans that night was and is incredibly devastating. I can't help but to think of the fear that must have been felt. Imagine, waking up from a sound sleep on what should have been a peaceful night, only to find yourself looking into the cold, and utterly emotionless eyes of your killer. As much as reading about the crimes of these notorious killers interests me greatly, it certainly calls to conscience the fact that monsters such as this walk among us. Unsettling as it may be, sometimes it must be remembered that none of us will ever be truly safe from such things. -Mona Source of information: Phillip Carlo's "The Night Stalker"

In my opinion, this is one of the most believable poltergeist videos out there. As seen in this video, a Manchester office block is completely trashed by alleged poltergeist activity. Many believe this video is faked, but see for yourself and let me know what you think!

Willard Asylum
Built in Willard, New York in the year of 1869, this asylum opened it’s doors for the treatment of the chronically insane. Consisting of over 70 buildings, the Willard Asylum housed over 50,000 patients during it’s years from 1869 to closing in 1995. Patients came from all around, usually bringing with them only a single suitcase full of their belongings. Although most patients never left this place when they stayed. The average amount of years spent in this asylum was 30 years for a patient, and over half of the 50,000 people that called the place home, died within its walls. The place is said to be haunted by all the spirits that died there. In 1995 when Willard State Asylum was closing, someone found over 400 suitcases left from patients that had died there. "The ultimate possession was, in fact, the taking of the life. And then … the physical possession of the remains." Ted Bundy, notorious serial killer, necrophile, rapist, and kidnapper, was thought to be very handsome and charismatic. This he used to his advantage, in order to gain the trust of his many victims. Bundy confessed to about 36 murders, but is suspected of over 100. He would most often beat his victims to death, but would also drown or strangle them occasionally. It was not uncommon for him to return to the bodies of his victims and engage in sexual activity with them. He was also known to apply makeup to his victims and do their hair after killing them. All of his victims were Caucasian women between the ages of twelve and twenty years old. The majority being university students with shoulder length brown hair. It has been theorized that he chose them because of their resemblance to an ex girlfriend who broke up with him during his university days. However, it is likely that he simply found this specific type of girl attractive. -Mona (Sources: http://serialkillers.briancombs.net/2405/victim-studies-004-ted-bundy/, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Bundy)
