Holly Kearl is the founder of the nonprofit organization Stop Street Harassment. She has her masters in women studies and public policy. She is all for stopping street harassment. Kearl has authored three books: Stop Global Street Harassment: Growing Activism Around the World (2015), 50 Stories about Stopping Street Harassers (2013) and Stop Street Harassment: Making Public Places Safe and Welcoming for Women (2010) and two national studies, Unsafe and Harassed in Public Spaces: A National Street Harassment Report (2014) and Crossing the Line: Sexual Harassment in Schools (2011). Since 2010, Holly has given more than 135 talks, 250 media interviews, and authored more than 60 published articles for outlets like the New York Times, Washington Post, and the Guardian. She founded the anti-street harassment website in 2008. In 2011, she founded International Anti-Street Harassment Day, the first annual commemoration took place March 20, 2011 It expanded to a week in 2012 and in April 2015, the week had participating groups from 41 countries. She holds a very important role in the anti-street harassment/stop street harassment campaign. She has made many steps to end harassment for women.
