Chapter one of my Like Minds Vampire AU is out for anyone who cares. It’s mostly just a short little introduction, I will be getting into actual character interactions very soon so stay tuned my people.

Gothic media loves to explore taboo themes. It loves to present incest and death and all things dark and macabre. Many argue that it is the inherent presentation of such things that make a media gothic in nature. That is a whole other argument I could rant about however the point I’m getting at is, if you do not like hearing about gothic themes, do not engage in gothic media. If you do not like said themes, do not engage with fans of said media. Because guess what? They’re going to be talking about those themes.

Dead dove do not eat exists as a concept for a reason, and if that is something you really cannot get behind that is okay, as no one is forcing you to do so.

There’s been a lot of hostility in many fandom spaces recently due to people having very strong opinions one way or the other about the morality of engaging in and creating fiction that is taboo, and I do get it. However I feel like as a community we should be more open to discussion and hearing other opinions in a civil manner rather than firing off insults back and forth.

Finally a reminder to take care of yourself online, and to take a step back if needed at any point. If all else fails, remember if you do not like something you do not have to engage, and you can simply block and move on.

One day I will commit to actually curating online friendships once again, for I miss talking to my little people on my phone, rather than just lurking around but that is okay. I do have the social skills of a mushroom so it might not happen anytime soon.

Like Minds vampire AU but I'm torn between a story in which we have a slightly murderous vampire Nigel and a slightly disgusted but also enamoured human Alex, or we could flip the script and have a freshly turned vampire Alex who finds himself inexplicably drawn to the weird gothic human Nigel that also still has slightly murderous tendencies. In all honestly both of these will likely be created but the latter does seem to be calling me first... We will see.

It’s become a constant thing where I get home after a night out still quite tipsy and I think about Nigel and Alex. It has been this way since I first watched that damn film and I don’t think it will ever stop. Shout out to the Like Minds discord server who I’m sure will make this issue of mine so much worse. How wonderful.
