our spiritually elevated rejection of canon vs their intellectually dishonest refusal to engage with the text

finally someone says something kind of titillating
Good night, good night. Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow.

once you read brideshead revisited you see it in all media itâs wonderful itâs like a framework for literary criticism and the framework is âif a guy fucks his friendâs sister heâs gayâ
âletâs run away togetherâ trope fucks me up bc itâs almost always doomed. but what if itâs not this time.
âMy whole life, I donât know what this song [Auld Lang Syne] means. I mean, âshould old acquaintance be forgot.â Does that mean that we should forget old acquaintances? It doesnât mean that if we happen to forget them, we should remember them, which is not possible because we already forgot them.â âWell, maybe it just means that we should remember that we forgot them, or something. Anyway, itâs about old friends.â

i think that if you are recommending people skip entire seasons of narrative-driven (vs. anthology) television programs you are not a serious person lmfao
like if you do this i donât think you actually like the program i think you like bits and pieces of a whole which fit the made up usually deeply fandom-rotted version of the show that exists in your brain and in many cases i might go as far to say is a fundamental failure in engaging with the source but thatâs just me!
