also maybe controversial, but i think even in dai a lot of the writing choices surrounding solas were gimmick-y and done for style rather than for any deep reason... like finding out his lines were actually just written 'to the tune of hallelujah' to sound mystical and musical rather than in actual iambic pentameter for shakespearian tragedy reasons was a betrayal on the same level as finding out half of cole's 'mysterious' banters are actually just film references that mean nothing.

Two of my favorite things about Bellara are 1) she is wildly uncomfortable talking to children and 2) one of her pre-battle lines is "Oh, is it time again? Great!". Incredible female character. Huge nerd, excitable optimist, bad with kids, craves violence

Something about Neve lowkey backing up Rook with giving the Venatori a chance to surrender while others, with exception of Emmrich, will not even entertain the idea of them getting out alive.

If I recall correctly, she HAS seen some former venatori leaving the cult and ended up escaping with the help of the Shadow Dragons. On Treviso path, she even hopes the former venatori who eloped with a former crow for a happy ending. I may be overthinking this but maybe the reason why she said this line instead of outright disagreeing with Rook’s offer to them, even if she is cynical, she’s willing to give chance because she has seen it happen. She knows that there’s a chance that one may surrender, however little that chance is. She’s not gonna close that door where they can turn away from the cult and change for the better.

More reason for me to love this woman so much.
