“I do not exist to impress the world. I exist to live my life in a way that will make me happy.”
— Richard Bach (via quotemadness)
my utopia
The drag queen from this photo has spoken up about the photo.
I won’t speak for all liberals, but I’d like to see a future where it isn’t a big deal for a woman in full modesty garb to sit next to a drag queen in NYC. It’s become a bit of a sensation, but her and I were just existing. The freedom to simply be yourself in a sea of people who aren’t like you is a freedom we all deserve.
The central irony is that this isn’t some hypothetical future–it’s just present day reality. This is a picture of two ordinary people going about their normal lives despite how haters want to politicize it lmao. So the underlying message is not “future liberals want” it’s “people conservatives want to eradicate”

this pride month, please please please do not let the black lives matter movement go ignored. the lgbtq movement owes so much to black members of our community. we are not free until all of us are.
what is happening now is change in action. if you care about activism, and you should, you know that blm deserves to be seen, their voices to be heard.
pride matters, and we should still celebrate, still fight, still demand our place in the world. but black and indigenous people need our support right now. cops are not our friends. oppression is never okay. privilege is never comfortable. if you are white or non-black, refuse to let support for blm die down.
this pride, let’s fight for each other. demand spaces for lgbtq people of colour. let their voices be heard. listen.
you can help.
Smash mouth has a song about a guy realizing the girl he’s dating is still in love with her ex girlfriend and he encourages said ex to come back and rekindle their lesbian romance
Maybe the real All Star was the bisexuals we met along the way

i cant believe americans on tv really say rock paper scissors like???? its paper scissors rock omg do u irl americans actually say rock paper scissors????

me normally: linguistic differences are so interesting and cool! I love hearing different dialectal variations.
me, reading “paper, scissors, rock” with my own two eyeballs: the lord is testing me
In order to make a relationship last, you really have to flow with a person as they change. Give them space. My friend always told me about his grandfather who was with his wife for 60 years before she passed. His grandfather said that through all that time, his wife changed so much it felt like he had been with 8 different people by the end. But he said the secret to making it last was that through all those changes, he never suffocated his wife with his own idea of who he expected her to be. Rather he loved, fully, every new woman she became.
how lucky do two people have to be in order to fall for each other at exactly the right time in exactly the right way
“The first time a man I loved held me by the wrists and called me a whore, I did not think, ‘Run.’ I thought, ‘This is just like the movies.’”
