What To Do With Your Life
We all ask this question at some point of our lives. Well, today is your happy day because here is the answer!
How to Make Friends
In which Hank talks about friends, why they’re important, and how we make them. TL;DR, don’t take advantage of good friends, they are extremely important and very rare. Acquiring new ones is hard, especially inorganically…but you can increase your chances by finding places where you can have repeated, unplanned interactions with the same people, being receptive to people, and open to conversation. And, of course, thinking carefully about people, being thoughtful, and asking them to help you out every once in a while. Also, don’t get married to people who aren’t your friend. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
A Poem for Spring
In which John welcomes the (calendrical) arrival of Spring by reciting some poetry, and also tells a story about moving to Indianapolis.
because it's supposedly spring despite this harsh cold of nyc. also, poetry!!!
And the winning charities of the Project for Awesome are…(drumroll please)
The Harry Potter Alliance This Star Won’t Go Out Not Forgotten Save the Children Liberty in North Korea Childs Play water.org The Thirst Project Partners for Mental Health TECHO To Write Love on Her Arms The Office of Letters and Light The World Food Programme (where Free Rice’s money goes) Feeding America (which works with food banks around the US) The Wayne Foundation Pencils for Kids Women for Women International First Book Kiva Doctors without Borders
20 winners? Yes, 20 winners! Watch John’s video above for a full explanation of who’s getting what. Congratulations to all of the charities who won a piece of the money we raised and thank you to all of you for participating!
one of my faves!
The progression of sharpie face shame.
Real Life Saving Projects
The Greens’ activities didn't stop on the internet, but they extended to include great projects that help decrease the terribleness of our world. Every year they hold an annual event, project for awesome (P4A), that lasts for two days. It is made to decrease the most world suck.  People all over youtube make videos supporting their favorite charities and then other people vote for the video. The top five charities that get the most votes will be given 1/5 of the total money donated by everyone. There is a live stream for the P4A that goes on for the whole 48 hours featuring YouTubers from all over. Thus, by doing so, they use their internet-given powers to  entertain people and decrease the world suffering which I find very admirable.  Â

53 Terrible Jokes!
I'd recommend you watch the rest of the series! It's guaranteed that you're gonna love them.
The Terrible Burden of Destiny: Chicago and Waupaca
Syria in Five Minutes
Within The Vlogbrothers' Vlogs
The vlogs varied to include different topics ranging from updates on the hows and abouts of their personal lives to the hows and abouts of entire countries like Syria, Gaza, and Ukraine in John And Hank Explain! In which they “take a complicated issue and tease out the knot a little bit. By avoiding politics and taking a larger, top-down view, we try to tell a complete story much faster than cable news can even talk about an isolated event”. Thoughts from Places is another series within the vlogs in which John and Hank visit places and share the thoughts that emerge from visiting those places. Also, occasionally Hank brings about the funniest and finest of nerdy jokes just for your pleasure.Â
John's Last Brotherhood 2.0 Video.Â
p.s.: in your pants is an original joke/theorem from the YA author and nerdfighter extraordinaire and secret sister, Maureen Johnson. It states that any book title can become funnier by affixing the phrase "in your pants" to the end.Â
The first video blog ever to be on the inter-web by the Greens. Here Hank explains the rules of the new channel.Â
A Quick, Poorly Written History Lesson!
Hank Green and John Green started out with brotherhood 2.0 in 2007. This was a project through which the two brothers would communicate. Both of them filmed videos every week, alternating days between them, and posted the videos on their YouTube channel. This project continued for an entire year during which they were forbidden of using any emails or text messages. If they did, they’d be punished by doing something disgusting or very embarrassing. Over the course of a year, people started watching the videos and an online community started, sparking the movement of Nerdfighteria.
From there, they renamed their channel to vlogbrothers with essentially the same rules. In addition, they started several other channels including crash course in which they teach academic subjects such as world and U.S. history, English literature, biology, chemistry, and psychology. Also, they started mental floss which is a visual extension to a magazine with the same name, SciShow in which Hank illustrates the new discoveries in science, and many others.
To me, I found in the Greens’ vlogs several things I couldn’t find in my current community at the time, including but not limited to friendships with intelligent people, a place from which I can get great mature advice, and a sense of community I couldn't find in “the real world”. These vlogs helped me get through a really difficult time in my life, so my blog is a small way to show appreciation. Hope you have a good time.
