Beneath them, the faintly warm body rumbled a couple of times, arms stuttering before one awkwardly patted her back. "Hey, it's no big deal, really."
"Are you kidding?" Gangle yanked herself away, keeping them at arm's length as she clutched their shoulders. "I tried to get Caine to make something like this for years! And you helped me find it!"
Zooble glanced away. "Well, glad I could help?"
The response Gangle gave was a single excited squeal, wrapping her hands around one of their own and yanking them as she began her run to the beach. Her own excitement caught up to her after a few paces, gleeful as she charged across the sand, her feet so light that they barely sank in or registered the cold. As she drew closer, she felt the gentle, frigid tides of the simulated sea wash over her ankles, making her sink just barely into the submerged sand.
She felt completely overwhelmed, only knowing that her face hurt from the size of her smile. The ocean, here. Just like she remembered.
I delayed Chapter 14 but I will Not rest.
