this is actually HILARIOUS because both domestic rabbits and domestic cats practice dominance-related social grooming but for wildly different reasons.

Anyway it was nearly crazy enough. It was just a competently yet blandly written romance between an Amish single father and a woman with a troubled past, BUT at one point the villain gives his name as Pete Peterson and then 70 pages later someone’s finally like “so that’s probably a fake name” and then the villain’s real name? Phil Phillipson. I’ll bump the book up to a C+ for that alone.

Which also explains why AOS Kirk is taller. And since stress does affect physical appearance (hair colour comes to mind), it also explains some of the other differences

Nah, I am not sure that AOS Jim never endured tarsus. Because there are many hints he also was on tarsus.

He may be slightly taller. But instead of Kirk he has a lot of allergies. Many of them develop as a result of extreme malnutrition and prolonged exposure to harmful substances.

He's not trusting authorities. TOS Kirk learned it with time. And probably through his father.

He is more angry at Pike for even telling him he should have let nature done it's way, than at the fact he is losing command and his ship.

The whole time we see him do literally everything, for saving everyone of his crew and even people outside of his command, because doing nothing, doesn't even comes into his mind.

But the biggest hint for me is this moment.

When he told Spock, where he does come from, you don't betray the one who saved your life. He could have said in Iowa or whatever. No. The way he said it feels more like bitter betrayal, because he knew, what it could mean for you, if you get betrayed. It meant your end. And that's trauma speaking.

Letting you always fall into old habits. Since Kodos used his own "logic" as a reason to kill half of the people on Tarsus. For Jim did this something in a way it's simply impossible to understand and go with the rules. Because this can cost lives. And it's something he can't.
