Some things I’ve been working on recently for the A Game By Its Cover jam!
Final update! My company and I participated in Jamchester 2016, which was the UK’s biggest professional only game jam! It was judged by reps from Sony, Microsoft, Epic, Creative Assembly and more.
We made this ridiculous game about two dudes trying to escape from a hotel in a pantomime cow costume. Its as silly (and rough) as you’d expect for being made in a weekend with no sleep, but people seem to like it - there’s over 30 lets plays on youtube. We even won one of the awards for it!
You can check it out here.
I’ve been working to a pretty limited colour palette recently. Will work on mixing that up.
Been really striving to work on my 3D skills, which I’ve been neglecting a bit. Have some goggles! I made these to practice basic PBR materials and splines.
Improving this prototype a bit. Got some ideas, but scared of just ripping off devil daggers? We’ll see.
Prototyping.
Working on an underwater tileset thing. Very WIP.
Scene for the marmoset hexels isometric redesign competition. Not particularly happy with it, suffered from a lack of planning/blockouts.
Would have liked to stretch the whole scene (beach -> jungle -> idol garden) but the perspective made it difficult.
Anyway enjoy!
more modelling
Hello it's me again, checking in with my tumblr friends. Been taking a break after launching Glitchrunners to focus on planning my next term of teaching. We are doing modelling! Here is a lovely flower in the style of @pixelatedcrown that I made as an example for a lesson.
Theres a cool jam on atm where you make a game that runs at 64px by 64px. I don’t have time to do it properly but I did noodle around with those constraints today, and made this lil playable doot doot thing.
Also I made this yesterday I don’t know what it is supposed to be yet
My dumb game came out.
Game is out in just over a week! On Steam! AHHHH!
I imagine we’ll be getting back to normal soon with weird and stupid game prototype gifs, but for now have an (edited) render of a quick 3D model I made for the class I’m teaching after the Easter holidays!
(Did I mention on this blog I’m teaching part time now? I’m doing that, its pretty great.)
GLITCHRUNNERS LAUNCH TRAILER!

Pre-Purchase
Purchasing the game gets you 2 steam keys - one for you, one to gift to a friend - because we’re generally wonderful. There’s a 15% pre purchase discount too because we’re just that nice.
Glitchrunners is a cartoony, asymmetric local multiplayer game that borrows from a variety of game types including platformers, beat-em-ups, and even table-top RPGs to deliver a thrilling, action-packed gaming experience.
