The Entropistic Project was an attempt starting on February 2022 (?) at funding the buying of banned / restricted books so that those affected could be able to access those important books physically or have copies for education.
Because of complications with The Entropistic Project, ended up going on hiatus. But after re-assessing, it was for the best to have this particular version of the project officially cancelled.
Donators have been refunded with a message attached saying its a refund for this (under a joint Paypal account, now deleted).
The project never took off and did not gain traction - only actually gaining $14 USD from donors (plus more being funded by the main owner of the project to at least cover the first book).
Then, the project went on pause due to complications. Chaotic current events did not help, there was waning interest from audience, multiple book recipient candidates were un-contactable or unable to receive the book due to their privacy concerns when trying to give the first book, several severe health complications of the main owner, and later we were locked out of the money account due to Paypal's shenanigans.
Finally, being able to log-in to the money account a year later, have decided to refund and delete some inactive parts of this project, while updating the status on this.
Have learned a lot about how these types of goals can go wrong, but hope that our sincerity and honesty in our intentions comes across despite this. Unfortunately, the initial setup and circumstances doomed it to fail - and have been thinking deeply on how to fix this to no avail.
This was not a scam, but an unsuccessful pipe dream.
Hopefully next time a well-intentioned project is attempted, it is done better - until then this sideblog will be inactive until needed again.
Basically: entropis.tk site has been updated to reflect change (and the domain will not be renewed on February 2024), entropistic's ko-fi donations have been turned off and to be deleted around February 2024, the entropistic paypal n liberapay accounts are deleted, and the 2 donors were fully refunded as the money was specifically for purpose of helping others.

TLDR; After books were being banned and censored (including "Maus"), I tried to start a Money Pool (separate to my normal Paypal, only for this), with the first goal being a physical "Maus I&II" book each shipped to 5 people that apply for it. The project has had some pauses, including from the current economic/political climate and my own disability/issues.

Would anyone be interested in and help, if I make a money pool so that different people can get Maus, physical and/or digital copies (physical if they're ok sharing address), if any online book store has it in stock, and any other suggested books (anti-racism or confronting antisemitism, etc. since they are getting censored)... since that is the current topic?
In other words, I pitch in a bit of money and ask others too, in a general money pool account, for 1 book per person in a limited slot that are unable to get it ?
^^ Checking interest. I'm open to other suggestions or ways to make it work better, btw.

I was busy working on things but basically there is now 3 open slots for the books. Money amount is the same now (March 9, 2022).
The last update was when it was $25 out of $225.
I put this on mild pause because of the current climate and financial struggles, but also if anyone wants to help out with this (money, feedback, or volunteering in some way) please do because I have my own issues that have also slowed this down. (March 18, 2022)
Just to be clear: I put the "community money pool for censored books" (info in the pinned post) on a mild pause because it seems like financial stability and issues for everyone is very bad right now.

The Stanford-level class "Global History Through Graphic Novels" is being made more widely available in response to educational censorship in the United States. This version is unaffiliated with Standford, instead, something Tom Mullaney - the teacher himself - wanted to do.
It's a 9-week long online class open for enrollment right now, and will take place in Summer 2022. It's free for high school and college students (globally), and pay-as-you-will for everyone else (a range of $29 to $119 pay suggested but not necessary), with the option to donate $149+ worth of course-related books to a student's library (the syllabus and booklist is currently expanding).
He also has an IndieGoGo campaign for help with facilitating student's access to course materials, to make it as accessible to worldwide students as possible:

The World's First Queer Children's Bookstore needs help with funding!
Hey pals!
Last year I opened the world's first queer children's bookstore, called Invisible Strings Bookshop.
The idea is to make it easier for kids of all identities to find books about people both like and unlike themselves. We carry everything from board books through YA and we even have a For Grownups section with resources!
Today I just launched a Patreon in the hopes of raising enough money to open a physical location!
With a brick and mortar store we'd be able to do so much more to foster community for queer kids--book clubs, open mic nights, author events, sensory hour, story times, classes and workshops, maybe even day camps in the summer? Who knows!
The Patreon is set up so that no matter what amount you pledge, even just one dollar a month, makes you part of the family.
At five dollars a month you become a member of our virtual book club, and at ten dollars a month you get an exclusive discount code for the bookshop!

5 responses on the google form. For the other survey type, Yellow means abandoned survey attempts with green being submitted (7 yellow, 1 green). Only a small portion of the total submitted survey responses are to apply for books, also. And repeats.
In other words, do not assume there were enough survey responses just because of the number of notes or days. More are needed to apply for books and for general responses and feedback.

Chi-Rads (Chicago's Public School's Radical Youth Alliance) is an organization of queer Black and Brown Chicago Public School high schoolers who are fighting to create an education system that best serves themselves. School has been very difficult for CPS students and teachers alike since covid has begun, and now Chi-RADS is organizing to get their needs met.
To summarize, their demands are:
acknowledgement of mistakes and a public apology to the Chicago Teachers Union.
to be centered in discussions of COVID-19-19 safety plans.
the end of performative language when trying to fulfill the Mayor's political agenda.
the release of full and transparent COVID data, and direct communication from the city to the public.
the end of using manipulated COVID-19 data as evidence in press conferences and other conversations about the COVID-19 safety plan.
continuously advocate for the importance of listening to youth and acknowledge the spaces the youth create to execute decisions that impact their education, health, safety, and lives.
