Pairing: Poe x Reader. Also, mentions of drunkenness and alcohol, whoops!

“That’s awful, Testor!” you laughed delightedly.
“I know!” she snorts. “Hang on, hang on, I’ve got another.” She leans forward on her elbows, drink in hand, and stares determinedly into your eyes. “How can you be from an ice planet when you’re so Hoth?“
There’s a beat of silence as you stare at each other, before you both dissolve into fits of raucous laughter.
After a rather successful mission, you were indulging in a bit of celebration. Jess had brought out the good stuff and you might have been a tiny bit drunk.
Someone clears their throat and you peer up at the intruder. “Poe!” you exclaim, a little too loudly. “(L/N), good job out there today!” he says. “Thanks, Commander.” you grin.
“Having a bit of fun I see.” Poe teases, dropping into the seat beside you.
You and Jess exchange looks and promptly burst into laughter again.
“Must’ve been some joke.” Poe says good-naturedly, eyebrows raised.
Your eyes meet Jess’ again and you wonder if she’s having the same thought you are. Judging by the devious grin in her face, you’d say she has.
“Hey, Poe,” she drawls, “are you an astromech droid because you R2 good looking.”
Poe blinks in response and you’re quick to jump in, “Poe, you’re hotter than the flames on Mustafar.”
Poe lets out a hearty laugh and when Jess regales him with another line, he gently tugs the bottles out of your hands.
“Think you’ve had enough, guys.” he says.
He smiles sweetly at you and gets up to leave. But you’re desperate to not be outdone, not by Testor, certainly not when it came to Poe, who you might have been harboring a crush for. Fueled by your desire and complete lack of inhibitions and good sense, you stand up and shout “Commander!” at his back.
You could swear time stopped as he turned around and somewhere in the back of your mind a voice was shouting that this was a horrible idea. Drunk you was much too stubborn to relent though.
“I bet I could get you undressed in less than 12 parsecs.” you say, straight faced, in what you hope is a seductive voice.
Poe shakes his head, flushes red, and barks out, “Get some rest, (Y/N).”
You slump down into your seat, Jess is roaring with laughter across from you. You were certain that could have gone better and are suddenly sobered by the thought.
The awful hangover you have in the morning and the crippling embarrassment of practically propositioning Poe in front of the entire mess hall is worth it when Poe finds you later that day, with the intention of, now that you were sober, testing your theory.
