So our Professor asked us to choose 1 quote from a famous Philosopher and we have to provide an explanation on why we have chosen it and how does it relate to our life path. We were also tasked to come up with our own quote and provide those explanations as well.
And I come up with these:
Lao Tzu (Chinese Philosopher)
Quote: Stop leaving and you will arrive. Stop searching and you will see. Stop running away and you will be found.
When I have my eyes set on something I start to fixate on it then get obsessive, so much so, that it becomes detrimental to the stability I have created for myself. And when the Plan fails, just as fast that Iโve started working towards my goal, i am also quick to abandon the whole situation as if nothing has happened in the first place. This also applies when I have achieved my goals, I am quick to jump off the cliff and move on to the next course, as a result I rarely celebrate my victories because it's either I don't acknowledge it or I have forgotten about it not until someone tells me to take it easy and to take time to appreciate my accomplishments while teaching me to be gentle with myself. There are times where I would sacrifice my own health for the sake of my goals, I was always running low on energy, I am prone to burnouts and I come off as reckless. This extends to other people too at times, especially my friends and family that I isolated myself from because I was so driven. But Now times have changed and I have learned to balance spontaneity by following routines where I can still be wild and free but at the same time to continue being stable and committed to my responsibilities as a Daughter, friend, student and most importantly to strengthen and deepen my self-love.

My own Quotation (I even searched it all over the internet to make sure that there is no other copies lmfao.)
We are sad Robots living in a Aquarium world.
I feel like My Quote does not really connect with Lao Tzuโs but this quote works for me on a daily basis because I donโt feel like myself everyday, itโs always time travelling in the past with those horrible experiences or going way ahead of time towards the future and the present dissipates as if it's non-existent. Part of my quote which is the robot thing, I am not generalizing everyone in this category but I tend to perceive us Humans as a whole and as a collective, living in this universe in which more often than not, we experience lots of tragedies and are prone to negative thinking before we even get to the positive ones. Even if life gets unpredictable, we tend to endure the circumstance and be a robot in order for us to navigate the cold and harsh reality by being Smart, wise and to be objective when uncertainties and challenges arise.
I want to achieve the ultimate freedom but I know it is just wishful thinking because we live in a world where we are enslaved and been programmed to be competent and be of good use to Society. So that is why I prefer to be functioning like a robot, to express and feel less and just do things in a way that works for me. It is also my way to shield myself from being enslaved in the Societal norms and restrictions in which everything about you gets judged or misjudged by others and at the same time being a robot is my way of preparing my heart for the worst, hardships and failures that may occur at any moment. I'd say that My cold and aloof exterior is my greatest asset because it provides care and safety to my extremely sensitive nature and fragmented personalities and by this, I get to be grounded, stable and very resilient to whatever and whoever obstacles Is heading towards me in life.
