Equestrian hack 77:
If your ribbons get creased or wrinkled take your flat iron/straightener and run it over them a few times. It’ll help straighten the out quickly and there is no need to buy anything new. This can also work with a clothes iron. They’re made out of fabric so this won’t run them!
Equestrian hack 76:
If you don’t want to spend to much cash on expensive leather oil, get some coconut oil, rub it on your hands and put on all of your leather tack! It softens the leather very quickly, but also darkens it, so be careful on light colored tack. After the oil soaks it all in, wipe excess off with a damp rag.
I have a camp in July. All of the other ridders are much more qualifed and better riders because they have a diffrent instructer.I am having a problem with my my rithem and keeping my toes pointing inwards can some help me please???
I’m so sorry! I just saw this. Hopefully you (and others) can still find this useful! For the rhythm problem I’d say just feel the horse you’re riding and if you feel as if you’re not following their movement slow down and try to match it up. A lot of it comes from more practice and understanding, somethings can’t be learnt until there is more practice. I remember when I first started riding I had trouble with this too, but as I took more lessons and practiced more I got better at it.
As for your toes its really just about trying to keep your weight in your heels and thunking about that actively. Also doing no stirrup work can help as well because your muscles will develop and from muscle memory it’ll be easier to keep your heels down/toes up!

Do you have any tips for getting striding right? Like if youre supposed to get a five, how do you keep getting that five, consistantly, not like 5 4 6 4 5., you know?
I have not, but maybe someone can help you out!

Use baby powder and spray hair gel (or just normal hair gel) to give your horse bright white stripes and socks
To remove it from your horse use coconut oil or baby shampoo on a sponge.

If a horse with white has an open scratch somewhere cover it in desitin then sprinkle baby powder over it and it will look like it never even happened.

Squeaky stirrup leathers, when you ride? Use a small dab of personal lubricant ( think ky jelly) and squeak is gone. It softens the leather and won't discolor it.

If you horse they has a runny tummy to the point where its getting chafing sores and losing hair get some diaper rash cream from a local drug store and wash their bum with a sensitive skin shampoo to get the gunk off and then apply the cream. It works wonders and also keeps gunk from building up.

Equestrian hack 69:
Need a quick way (1 day) to break in new boots or stretch current ones? Completely submerge your boots in water for a couple seconds (be more cautious with more expensive boots) and immediately wear them around. To stretch boots a small amount, soak a cloth with water and rub it on the inside of the boot and immediately wear them around. You could also put on wet socks (although this feels weird) and immediately wear the boots.

A wet ‘bug sponge’ designed to clean bugs off the front of cars works great for getting sweat marks off after a ride, even when its too chilly for a full hose down.

Need to cut up an apple? Put it against a protruding wooden corner, take your palm, and give it a quick shove against the wood. It will split open the apple super easy.

For deep cleaning white socks, bluing shampoo (for brightening dyed blonde hair.) will work. Use sparingly, and don't full body wash with the shampoo. It works great for cleaning white socks though! Make sure to get all natural though.
