I adore dabbling in photography — whether it’s shots that were taken wandering around a local park, cosplay photos of friends at conventions or photos Nate and I set up in our makeshift basement studio area (which is really makeshift ;D) — it just brings me a certain type of joy. When video games started including photo modes, I was ecstatic. It was a way for me to capture the amazing settings I couldn’t capture with an actual camera of places I loved to visit (but never really could physically).
So what’s Photo Mode Friday? It’s me sharing some of my favorites shots I’ve captured in some of my favorite games! It’s gonna be a little lax on the “PHOTO MODE” though, cause I also like to set up shots and then take screencaps if a game doesn’t have a photo mode. I’ll make a note in the post whether the shots are screencaps or from an actual photo mode in the game, but I figure it was easiest to call it “Photo Mode Friday” and not “Photo Mode & Sometimes Screencaps Friday”~
Also, there will be a couple shots each Friday -- I only did one today due to the intro info for this feature. :)
To start off, here’s a shot I grabbed with Fallout 76’s photo mode! It is of my most precious babby, the Wise Mothman, during the Path to Enlightenment event.
Bonus points for Fallout 76 for adding in an actual camera in-game you can upgrade and mod with lenses and decorative gear! Sometimes the environment doesn’t allow for photo mode due to size restrictions in some of the smaller rooms and areas, so the camera item is a must have in those cases!
I haven’t had the time (or budget, hahah IT’S BEEN $60 FOR SO LONG) to play Danganronpa 3 yet but I told myself I was going to play the first two again before touching the third. I got …

A fun and fashionable take on all things gaming!
In the past couple weeks we’ve introduced a few new categories on the blog!
This week we’ve started a new category called Save Point, which will be a category full of raves about things from video games we adore -- whether it’s a series, a character, a song, a scene, an ability -- ANYTHING.
To start this category off, @hexterah crossposted an old blog post about how much she loves Myst.
The week before we started two categories in one supersized post on Catherine & Katherine from Catherine!
The Character Status category will look at outfits and items online — as well as places you can order items (or cheaper lookalikes of said items!) — that tie back to the character (or characters) we are focusing on in that certain post. And then Skills — which will break down character’s outfits for cosplaying purposes (along with other possible notes related to their outfits).
And in Loot, we took a look at ThinkGeek’s new Big Daddy Backpack and shared our thoughts on it! So be sure to check out that post if you’re a BioShock fan on the fence about purchasing this bag.
It’s been a busy couple weeks but we have a lot more on the horizon including more LOOT and ARMOR posts as well as more posts in the newly introduced categories!
Thank you for checking us out! :D
Within the past week I’ve started playing a little game on Steam that is in Early Access/its Pre-Alpha phase right now and it is a space survival game called Astroneer. And let’s just s…
Today Heather went crazy with her love for the game Astroneer by pulling some looks from the world of fashion and pretending her little Astroneer babies could wear them when they’re being lauded for all the majestic space they discovered.
(We did say she went crazy, right? Cause she kind of did. She even picked outfits for copper and aluminum.)
Betrayal at House on the Hill ARMOR [ board game(!) inspired outfit ]
HEXTERAH: To start off 2017, I have something a little different for the ARMOR category. It's an outfit inspired by a game -- but it's a board game and not a video game. HEATHER THIS IS A VIDEO GAME BLOG THOUGH. I know, I know. But anyone who plays board games a lot can tell you it's just as easy to get lost in one of those as it is to get lost in a video game. Betrayal at House on the Hill definitely does that for me.
Wikipedia gives a great basic idea of the game on their BaHotH page: "Players all begin as allies exploring a haunted house filled with dangers, traps, items and omens. As players explore the mansion, new room tiles are chosen at random; accordingly, the game board is different each session. Eventually the "haunt" begins, with the nature and plot of this session's ghost story revealed; one player usually "betrays" the others and takes the side of the ghosts, monsters, or other enemies, while the remaining players collaborate to defeat them."
You can see more photos of this outfit (and more rambles re: the outfit, the game and good lord why is Nate always the damn traitor) over at the main post on equippedinventory.com!
(A post which I would link to here, but tumblr has been wiping posts from tags with links in them for some reason so I just had to do it this way instead. :|)
