Another quiet month for us, but would you look at how the time has flown by? The year is nearly over already.
We appreciate everyone who took the time to give us their thoughts on group growth, and the mods will attempt to bring it all together into an incentive program that can see our little group flourish!
MISSION BOARD: Our new mission board, Gramercy Faire, has dropped! This will run until 31 August - check it out here!
FEEDBACK FORM: New month, new form! You can fill out the new feedback form here. We genuinely and truly appreciate every piece of feedback given to us.
SHOP: Keep an eye out in the coming days for items that your muse can buy from the renaissance faire!
MULTIPLE MUSES: Looking for new and exciting ways to branch out in your threads? If your activity feels comfortable, consider taking on another muse! You can see the muses most heavily requested by other members here, on our Wanted List.
Seemingly overnight, and at a point along no discernible border, at a distance neither too near nor too far, a village has erected. Far from being filled with shinobi, however, you step forward and find dozens upon dozens of smiling faces - families, couples, individuals, laughing and draped in costumes that seem from out of time, or at least no time that you’ve ever seen, except in the movies.
Stepping closer, you hear the herald sound their trumpet, and call out to the gathered crowd: 'HEAR YE, HEAR YE, THE ANNUAL GRAMERCY FAIRE HAS THUS COMMENCED,' and the gates open to a winding collection of dirt paths to stalls of all sorts with costumes, food, and shows.
After the last few months you’ve had, you think you deserve a break.
MISSION: STEP FORTH, WORTHY, AND ENJOY GRAMERCY FAIRE!
No medieval faire is complete without a proper costume, and you find yourself woefully unprepared. Not to worry, though! There are huts set up at the entrances with costumes for rent, and shops within! Are you the kind to throw a cape over it and call it good, or do you need the whole kit and costume to feel at home? Whatever your fancy, there are bits and bobs to turn you into a whole new person - no genjutsu required!
The time has really flown by, but in all the fun you’re having, you’ve completely ignored how hot the sun has gotten, and there doesn’t seem to be a cloud in the sky willing to give you reprieve. The fairgrounds have setup stalls with free refreshments, and contraptions to mist their guests, but spots can be limited at large events like this. Find some shade, and keep your cool!
In the wide open field to one side, you see a crowd has gathered, and they offer murmurs of shock and admiration, and then a rousing cry, and then you hear a thump. Lined along one side, you see massive logs and stones, and competitors are all lining up to give their all and huck those babies as far as the eye can see - or, at least, a few meters. Step up, and give it your best toss! [Strength +1]
Looking for just a moment to rest, you settle upon one of many gathered benches and turn your eyes to the stage, where a simple little cabinet has been setup. The curtain pulls back to reveal two hand puppets, much to the delight of the gathered crowd. Enjoy the bawdy jokes and ribald recountings - and the occasional heckler, who gets as good as they give! - as the hand puppet comedy duo Kicke & Forsythe wail upon each other and the audience. [Genjutsu +1]
TINK - TINK - TINK - !! Even from yards away, you can hear the ringing of the smith’s hammer and the roar of their bellows. When you finally set eyes upon the stall, you take in with delight all of the various knives, and drinking steins, and even fine jewelry that they’ve created over the years. The smith looks up and asks if anything catches your eye - or if you’d like a lesson in smithing yourself. [Stamina +1]
Some cousins of the Inuzuka are here as well, and have brought their newest litter! All one hundred and one of them, here for as many pets as your hands can stand, and with as many treats to boot. Oh, but when you look again, you find that there are far few of them than you remembered when you last turned around… Uh-oh, is that a little tail peeking out from behind a barrel? A floppy ear from beneath that faire-goer’s skirt? Round up as many pups as you can, and celebrate a hard-earned cuddle puddle with the good-est girls and boys the Inuzuka have to offer.
Now sit still, just there - yes, the light is perfect for a portrait, don’t you think? An artist has taken up a position, and offers the finest likenesses this land has to offer - but only if you’re willing to see your traits blown way out of proportion! Some of these caricatures draw a laugh from the subject, but others, well, maybe they hit a little too close to home. [Hand Seals +1]

Weeks pass with some semblance of returning to normalcy, until one day you find yourself talking to a stranger and discovering that they started developing migraines, at the same time as their friends, and their friends’ friends. Then, you hear stories of laborers and others with cuts that shine black in the sunlight, which disappear the next day. You try to investigate these occurrences, but no matter who you ask, you simply get the strangest, blankest looks.
It starts, as it always does with a rumour, of a figure garbed in white who passes through the street at night without rhyme or reason, swinging a censer from left to right. Among Konoha shinobi the rumour spreads like wildfire, allies returning from battles long past, enemies falling flat at the end of weapons long known to be broken. Even now, some claim to see snakes that once tore down the walls strike again, yet none are able to verify these claims, save for the marks in the dirt of feet that drag themselves along the earth, heavy as they lead towards the site where Konoha's founders once ended the Land of Fire's period of Warring Clans. (Genjutsu +1)
Nurseries and greenhouses, and even Yamanaka’s Flower Shop, have begun to notice something odd: where once their plants had a natural growing schedule, with careful husbandry to ensure the best yield, now things are coming up out of season, with some medicinal herbs coming out at such intense potency that the Medic Corps isn’t quite sure that their measurements are correct. Lend them a hand, or whichever other body part you’re willing to hold out, as they could use a test subject.
TASK BULLETIN
A group of divas has been traveling to each Shinobi Village, stopping at major landmarks and giving rousing performances that thrill the hearts of all, raising goosebumps with every immaculate high note. But wait a sec, is that...? You had thought it was just a metaphor but as it turns out they've found a way to weave jutsu into song, to cast a great barrier spell of protection. But when one of them collapses into a coughing fit and can't open her mouth without making the quietest little croak, they're turning to you to help them defend against the things that go bump in the night. Warm up your vocal chords, and show off your finest taijutsu, because you’ve just been upgraded from stage-hand to back-up dancer to frontman all in a single moment. (Taijutsu +1)
[Evolving event, Land of Whirlpools prompt] After you arrive in the land of whirlpools, you find it a ruin, the once-beautiful and noble civilization left to be reclaimed by nature. And, apparently, pirates. You understand now why the clues to this jutsu have suddenly begun to resurface, and even moreso why you have to get them back. (Any Skill +1)
How Does This Work?
An influx of mission requests have been assigned to members of a specific village, so it’s all hands on deck for nin who come from the Land of Fire. If you hail from the Land of Fire, grab yourself a partner from abroad, or a neighbor from your home village, and clear out some of these missions!
What About Akatsuki/Uncategorised Muses?
As long as their nation of origin is the highlighted nation for the season, then they're good to go, regardless of their current affiliation or loyalties.
Is That for the Whole Board?
Just the Mission Board! Task Bulletins are small odd jobs you might pick up from a stranger on the road, or other tasks or hobbies which will not receive a paycheck upon completion, and do not have any restrictions to them. These can be done with any combination of muses.
So I Have to Do These?
Not at all! If you have other ideas for threads you would like to complete, you are welcome to any and all manner of them - however, non-prompted threads will not be eligible for skill points or ryo when they’ve been completed. They may still be used for mastery, though.
unfortunately with my insane load in toa and irl, I will be dropping both Naruto and Obito and hope to maybe one day return! thanks everyone for the threads while i was here <3
Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Obito have been dropped and are now available!
