If you’ve seen my IG stories, you likely know I’ve been pretty vocal about social issues, especially the hate/violence that’s been happening against Asians in North America. I’ve been asked why I am, and I simply believe it’s the right thing to do. When I see someone like you, your mom, your aunts/uncles, and grandparents get murdered for because of their race, it makes me angry and feel like I have to do something. I’ve also always been a believer in “do what you can”. And right now, what I can do (what we all can do) is use social media as a tool to spread the word and hopefully create positive change. I’m not a rich guy that can donate large sums of money to these causes and social programs, but I am a guy who can use a camera and social media... and so that’s what I’ve been doing to do my part. Furthermore, I’ve seen a huge lack of support for this issue in comparison to BLM. And although I understand BLM represents equality for all and I’m glad that BLM had the support it did with tangible results coming from it, I see far less people showing support for #stopasianhate (even by people who supported BLM). And although I can’t speak as to why people aren’t supporting this cause as much (I don’t know your life and so I’m not judging), the lack of support for this (and other issues like the Indian farmers protest) makes me wanna go even harder because I believe it’s the right thing to do. I know my posts won’t just change the world, but if I do what I can to help even 0.01% or possibly inspire someone else who has the means to help on a larger scale than me, I’m doing it. And I hope everyone does the same because I believe if everyone does what they can to make the world a little better, it’ll happen quicker than you think. So please, do what you can. #stopasianhate #harmonyindiversity https://www.instagram.com/p/CM_R7PHsXdW/?igshid=1p78pnunnwj0b
