I would be so much more chill with all of it if more people were more directly just like "yeah there's literally nothing to support this but play in this space with me". Like writing/drawing/etc a character as transgender just because you like it/them and you think it's cute/fun/hot/etc is awesome. Love that have a blast. But if we're going to frame this as a Reading Of The Text then I'm going to hold it to v different standards. And a lot of people are framing it that way.

The ratio of measured critique to bit to foaming at the mouth varies from post to post but the hate is without exception always serious and genuine.

Writing Artificer as hating itself never made much sense to me. There's no way that demon has a sliver of self-awareness! All signs point to the opposite - too blinded by it's murderous goals. It's cheap, worthless angst that fails to move me as a singular ant fails to move a mountain. You irritate and fuel my desire to throttle that shithead until I no longer hear it whine.
