She playfully glared at the girl. “It’s too late. Now I’ve got it in my head you’re some evil mastermind who can’t be trusted.” Austen shifted into a small smile. “Yeah? You’d let me drag you out to the middle of nowhere? That’s some serious trust, you know. I’ve ended up in some pretty sketchy places.” That was very much the truth - but Austen had never truly considered company on her spontaneous trips. Until now. She followed Erin in, trying not to chuckle at her concern. It was sweet. “Glad to be back, pretty girl. I’ll try to stick around this time.” She paused, wrinkling her nose. “For a little while, anyway.” Austen stepped inside, turning to face her. Before she could think too much about it, she put her arms around Erin’s shoulder. “I did. Miss you.” She said, kissing her. Light, quick, and innocent. Almost like Austen Holloway was trying to behave herself.
She couldn’t help the grin that formed on her lips when the other girl glared at her. “Oh come on. You know I’m not that evil. I mean, I wouldn’t throw mastermind around when describing me.” She said with a smile. “I would. It does, but I think I’d be safe, after all. Your life might be a little less fun without me. And I don’t mean that in a cocky way. But we have fun together.” She said, laughing softly as she realized she was rambling. She closed the door behind the brunette, “For a little while? Well, I can definitely deal with that. As long as you come back, I won’t complain one bit.” She admitted with a smile. She wrapped her arms around the other girl’s waist. “I’m glad you did. I’d be sad if you hadn’t, honestly.” She replied, kissing her back softly. That was a change, but it was a welcomed one. The sweetness of it making her heart race.
