Amira was only paying attention to the mess below as the stranger apologized. She gave her a short glance before she bent down on her knees, cleaning along side the woman. “I’m fine, that was really shitty.” She chuckled, taking a note on how uncoordinated the two were. The two had cleared most of the shattered glass and spilled coffee. So she raised to her feet with the tray filled with broken glass in hand as she helped the other up by lightly holding their arm. She stared at the stranger, and instantly found herself attracted to her. She held onto the girl’s arm a lot longer then she had to and mustered up the nicest smile she could. Before lightly drifting her hand off of her arm and walking away, to quickly place the collected mess elsewhere. She then picked up a broom on the way back. “I really shouldn’t have tried to carry all of it. It’s my fault.” She mentioned. “Apparently, I’m training to be in the circus.” She joked, referencing to those who perform by balancing things.
Austen took the girl’s hand, gladly accepting the help. If she noticed the touch lingering a little longer than to be expected, she didn’t let on - apart from the small smile that crossed her features. The girl was gorgeous, no doubt about that much. She bit her lip for a brief moment as the other walked away. She took a small step back from the remnants of the mess, looking back up when she heard her return. She shook her head. “Oh no, it was totally me. I still haven’t totally mastered this whole walking on stable, level ground thing, apparently.” She chuckled. “Your balancing act was beautiful until I totally threw it off.”
“I’m Austen, by the way. I usually try for a much more charming introduction than crashing into pretty girls.” She said, her tone light. Smile still in place, she glanced over at the counter. “Let me buy you a coffee to make it up to you.” Austen searched her features, almost feeling uncharacteristically shy. “That is - if you’re willing to stick around the place you work after your shift’s up.”
