[ nathalie emmanuel, female, she/her ] - was that erin o'dair i saw by the lighthouse today? i heard that the thirty two year old who has been in nightrest her whole life and works  as a/an tattoo artist has a reputation of being altruistic, but also  passive aggressive they reside in low point & people in town usually associate them with street lights dimmed by late night fog. the smell of spray paint and cigarettes & predawn coffee on a fire escape . let’s hope the killer doesn’t go after them next. 

BIOGRAPHY

Following on from her three older brothers, Erin's parents were a little disappointed in having a daughter. It wasn't something they really expected and definitely not what they'd hoped for

And though from the outside looking in, the family seemed pretty close to perfect - behind closed doors, Erin quickly discovered that they had no intention of hiding such disappointment from her

her brothers did what they could to make sure she felt loved and important, but once their mother decided to leave - claiming that her marriage fell apart when they had Erin, it became kind of difficult for her to shake that kind of guilt

their dad didn't really know how to approach Erin after that and she learnt really quickly how to take care of herself and knew not to expect anything from anyone. To the point that she began refusing help from her brothers

Graduated with honors in criminal psychology - a degree which has done nothing but collect dust, as her part time job at the tattoo studio turned into a full time gig and she's never looked back since

Has major abandonment and commitment issues.

Trust nobody. Literally nobody.

Doesn't think very highly of herself at all, but damn if she's gonna let anyone know that

Doesn't communicate with any of her family members anymore, by choice. Its easier for her that way.

Fletcher had every intention of having a few quiet ones at his local before turning in for the evening. After a long week spent within the same few walls of his on establishment it was nice to venture out into that of another for a change. Looking up from the remnants of his glass, a woman seemed to have something of a similar plan, only to be interrupted by a male whom had clearly had a few too many. Shifting from his position the man approached the pair, attention landing on that of the woman before his harsh stare moved to that of her unwelcomed company. “Is there a problem here?” Fletch questioned without missing a beat. @nightreststarters​

"No, there's no problem." She snapped, more annoyed that she'd been interrupted, pulled from her own quiet wallowing than anything else. The stench of the older mans breath made her wince internally - a reminder of what she never wanted to become. Bitterness of her last drink now sitting differently in the back of her throat as another approached. "He was just leaving, right?" Her attitude swung from one interruption to the other - Fletcher's voice, while familiar, hadn't struck her until she turned to face him - maybe to cuss him out for thinking she couldn't handle herself but.. "Shit, Fletch. Didn't realize it was you."

News about Maya rocked Erin to her core. As if she didn't already feel like she was walking around the town on literal eggshells, clinging to the precipice of her own self-preservation, the loss of another felt like coming a little too close to the tipping point. Downing the shot from what was undoubtedly, a less-than-clean shot glass, Erin simply pushed it back towards the bartender, watching silently as he poured her another - just as he had each time she'd come in so late. The second almost touched her lips, the momentary pause between one burn and the next caught her off-guard as she spotted the woman entering the dingy bar they'd all once hung out at, all the time. "Your timing always did fucking suck," She scoffed, finally tipping back the shot to satiate the burn once more, "What exactly made you think coming back was a good idea, Mari?"

She didn't really pay much mind to where she was going - usually, once Erin left the house with the intention of walking until the thoughts in her head slowed down, she'd come back to reality and never really know how she got to where she stood. Perhaps that was exactly what happened, when it all came crashing back down and she found herself stood above the waves crashing against the rocks below, and Jasper stood beside her, "I thought I might find you here," had she even been looking? Not really - but she didn't want to scare him.

If there was one thing that Erin was super grateful for, it was that things between her and Bella had never turned sour. Regardless of whether their relationship panned out or not - the woman still remained one of her most trusted friends. And at a time like this? Nothing felt more comforting than finding herself with those she knew weren't going to kill her. Dramatic - she knew. Throwing herself back across her friends' couch, she might have otherwise claimed that the room wouldn't stop spinning - when in reality, it seemed the world was rotating off its axis again. "I can't believe this is actually happening again."

"Yes, I'm sure." She could think of at least one or two people not all that keen on her presence there that night, but she neglected to mention that to Erin. Instead, they raised a brow, grinning as the other woman rattled off her rules. "Damn, you've thought this through! Alright, then." Raising her glass in a toast, she smiled. "I accept."

"Maybe I've just been hoping we'd finally make it to this, drink off." And truly, she had thought about it once or twice since the night they'd first mentioned it. Not in some hapless attempt to try and prove herself to anyone, but the other certainly sparked intrigue within Erin. "Brilliant. What're you drinking? First rounds on me."

Jesse: Glad to know you still got them but that wasn't the point. Jesse: Maybe I'm ready for the roles to reverse.

Erin: As long as they only take my right arm, I'll still be able to work Erin: You know how much I love you, J.. but I really don't think you are yet. Erin: And that's okay, really. It is. Erin: But I know you're not going to chill, so come pick me up?

Zekai leans against the bar, keeping his attention solely focused on the woman on the stool next to him. "I'm sure he has." He laughs, brushing his tongue along his lower lip as he arches a brow at Erin, enjoying the fact she acts like she hates him. "You can't sit there and pretend to hate me when we both know you don't." He smirks, thinking about the few times Erin has sent him those booty call texts. "Maybe this time I'll even let you call out the name of the person you really want to be fucking." Hinting towards some alleged crush that probably doesn't exist.

"Actually, I can sit here and pretend whatever the hell I want. That's kind of the beauty of imagination." And god, did she sit around pretending a lot of things. As if her life hadn't gone tits fucking up in the last year - as if she wasn't hurting, heart aching, and feeling seven shades of hollow at all times. "Which, clearly you know a lot about, since you've got some idea that maybe, just maybe I'll go home with you." Again. But it was something she truly didn't intend to do again. "See, you do know that I'd rather be fucking literally anyone else but you. Have you come full circle yet?"

It wasn’t so much the familiar voice that made Erin do a double take, but rather the fact that Dom was looking directly at her in a way that expected a response. He wasn’t someone she wanted to spend any time around - at all. “I know you’re not actually trying to talk to me right now, Dom. How’s fuck off, sound?”

“Damn, not even a hi?” He asked with a shake of his head. “An I miss you? A How have you been?” Dom said, as he leaned against the bar counter. “You sound like you need a drink, Erin. Will you let me buy you one?”

"Oh, you really are being serious." And though it's a shock to her that he could be so freaking oblivious, it doesn't show. "Hi." Spoken in an airy, false tone as if she were truly happy to see him, "We good now? And you're right, I do need a drink but I'd rather shit in my own hands and clap than take a drink from you."

Ruby raised a hand, a small grin playing at their lips. "I decided to grace you all with my presence, yes," she deadpanned, rolling her eyes. "You're welcome." At the other's response, they cocked an eyebrow, raising their glass. "Neither have I. So hit me. What sorts of rules do you suggest?"

"Oh, well.. - consider me absolutely besotted with the idea of you being here." Erin quipped back rather easily, an air of sarcastic reform prevalent in her tone. "I'm sure everyone else agrees too." The corner of her lip betrays her, however, in the curve of a smile, "Drink for drink, obviously. We can't have the other cheating so - bathroom breaks are done together, safety in numbers and all that. And, i'm thinking one shot for every three drinks. Just to spice it up a little bit."
