Phone Interview, Part 3

Yesterday I had my third (yes, third) phone interview for the Disney College Program! Only the first this semester though, which is the norm. I felt sooo much more comfortable than I ever had on my phone interviews and I am keeping my fingers crossed that this all works out. I also didn't over prepare like I did last time and my answers were all honest and based off of my life experiences. I provided specific examples from my life experience in my answers to my interviewers' questions. I am ready to go back to Florida and I hope that this time my dreams will come true... again :)

Take 3

I am going to be applying for the Disney College Program for the spring of 2015. Wait, first of all, when did it get to be almost 2015? I'm nervous because I was turned down last time but I feel it in my bones that Disney is where I am supposed to be. Disney is my missing puzzle piece and even if I don't get in again I will keep trying, don't you worry.

Hi! As a potential prospective student for the DCP Spring '15 program I have a question about housing that I wanted to inquire about if you knew anything. I have watched your room-tour video and noticed that you had a one bedroom and that's exactly what I want, too. I understand you have stated it might have been because of your allergy and while I don't have any medical concerns I really want a one bedroom. Any suggestions on how to get one? Do I ask/request I have one? Thanks! :)

Hi! Yes, I would definitely try and ask for one! I know of some people who received a one bedroom apartment out of chance so you have a shot of getting one too. Good luck! :)

Phone Interview

Today I had my phone interview for my second Disney College Program! I am keeping everything possible crossed because I would absolutely love to be accepted again. I was obviously nervous but not nearly as nervous as I was during the first interview I had. I can't wait to hear back and if anyone can send me positive vibes, it would be much appreciated.

What year of college did you do the program?

I did it during my junior year of college. I had taken time off from full-time college and was a part-time student at a community college at the time.

Hi! My name is Savannah and I was wondering about the Disney College Program. I've been looking at the website and youtube videos and was just hoping you could maybe answer some questions. For example, do we just work or go to classes, or both and if so are we offered jobs their? I just have a million questions and was hoping you could help. :)

Hi Savannah! So how it works is that you would have to apply to the college program first. Once you get there, they will assign you where you are working but you will know your position beforehand. It's up to you whether or not you want to take classes, it's not required. They didn't have any classes I could take for credit for my major but I took one for fun that was enjoyable. If you are taking a class that is required for your major while you are on your program, they will accommodate your work schedule to your class schedule. Thoughts

I've recently been thinking about the recent passing of Diane Disney Miller, the last remaining member of Walt Disney's immediate family. Although it is terribly sad that she passed away, I think that we should all be thankful for all of the work that she put in to her father's company. Without the passion of her father, that he evidently passed down to his daughters, we wouldn't still be watching Disney movies to this day. Disney is more than a company that makes children's movies. These movies aren't even for children, they are for everyone. It is difficult to grasp the extent to which the Disney company has exploded and entered and touched each and every one of our lives. The Disney company is not slowing down and I can't wait to be a part of working for it again someday.

Hi! i am extremely interested in going into the DCP but I am on scholarship in my university :( I have to have 15 credits per semester or I will lose my scholarship. Does this mean that I cannot participate in the program without losing my scholarhship?

Hmmm... This is a tough question. I would definitely talk to your school and see if they can work anything out for you. I know that the college program does have some courses for college credit that are offered. I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction and I don't want you to lose your scholarship so talk to your school and see if there is anything they can do to help. You can also do the program after you graduate if that helps at all.

Hey I was just wondering in the Disney program, are friends and family able to visit you while you're in the program? Or is there no like visiting days and what not... Yes in other words not sure if you did a video for it but guest policies haha

Yes, of course your friends and family are able to visit you! You can always ask for days off ahead of time too and as long as you have an approved day off, you can go into the parks with them and use your free passes. I can definitely discuss this more in a video! Hope this helped

So I have heard that DCP's can audition for Character look-a-likes but can they be one of the dancers in the parades or shows like The lion King?

I think you would have to attend a separate audition for roles like those. They have auditions all over the country if you check out the Disney Auditions website.

Do you get to pick what job/role you want to have?

No, I didn't get to pick because they assign it to you but when you're applying you do get to pick your preferences in order of highly interested, interested, not interested, etc. They try to be as accommodating as possible.

Did you know any Education majors while doing your program? Do you remember what year of college they did it?? I'm trying to plan when I can apply for mine! ( love your blog btw)

Yes I did! Usually when you do the program it ends up being like a semester off for school unless your school accepts the credits for it. If you're concerned about the timing with being an education major I would probably suggest doing it the semester after you graduate because then you can have all of your requirements under your belt and be graduated and not have to worry about taking too much time off.
