RIP #StanLee - another LEGEND gone ... :(

On November 4th in 1922 British archaeologist Howard Carter found the entrance to Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. As a kid I loved all things Egyptian - King Tut was super cool - I still have a postcard of his mask and even a small statue. With my love for comics, I couldn’t go past reading all the awesome Papyrus books and King Tut even popped up in the occasional Batman comic. Tintin’s adventure in Egypt was one of my fav Tintin books and later when Raiders of the Ark took us to Egypt that was an instant classic.

A great full page panel from the comic strip Luc Orient - from the dutch album 24 uur voor de planeet Aarde - by Eddy Paape and Greg. An amazing series of SF comics that I loved as a teenager. Later stories were published in the EPPO magazine - but this is one of the few albums I got from this series. My favourite.

I remember being VERY excited when my favourite comic back in the 70′s was featured on the front of the Televizier TV magazine. I am sure I kept each weeks episode for a long time - but they have been lost over time. Tintin still remains one of my favourites and I have all the albums (dutch) in my bookcase.
