3,000-Year-Old Plants/Flowers Found Inside king Tutankhamun's Tomb

When Howard Carter opened King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, archaeologists were amazed to find botanical bouquets, floral collars, and wreathes exquisitely preserved after 3,000 years. These delicate offerings provided a rare and intimate glimpse into ancient Egyptian funerary rituals and the season of the king's burial.

This bracelet with three scarab beetles was made from gold, silver, lapis lazuli, carnelian, turquoise, feldspar and green glass was discovered from the intact KV62 tomb of king Tutankhamun. This jewelry depicts three Scarab Beetles or Khepri. It is one of the treasures found from Tutankhamun's tomb who ruled during the powerful Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt period of Egypt’s New Kingdom.

The mummy of King Tutankhamun was laid inside 3 coffins nested within each, with the innermost coffin made of 110.4 kg of solid gold. For the first time since his tomb was opened in 1922, the 3 coffins are now displayed together at the new Grand Egyptian Museum as of 2022.
