‘Sub Concious’ was originally conceived as the exclusive track for Erol Alkan’s ‘FabricLive 77′ mix, which was released to major critical acclaim back in August. A highlight track within the mix, ‘Sub Conscious’ has now been remixed by Tin Man and new Phantasy signing Kamera.
Over the last decade Tin Man has explored an ever-evolving sound palette that touches on house, techno and ambient. His tracks have been laced with slow and subtly shifting patterns that are infused with a very real machine soul and captivating warmth. In his remix of ‘Sub Conscious’, Tin Man drapes Alkan’s celestial strings and piano stabs over his own bassline to blissful, rousing effect.
Kamera’s rich sonic space was part born in rural Yorkshire and eventually came to fruition in the wintry Majorca sunshine, his sound influenced by artists such as Sunn o))), Fugazi, Autechre and Sabres of Paradise. Kamera takes the track’s acidic origins and threatens to overpower with layers of stunning feedback that drag the listener in further still. Stay tuned for an EP from Kamera on Phantasy in early 2015.

I supported the Manic Street Preachers for 2 dates at the Roundhouse as part of "The Holy Bible" tour. After the first date, quite a few people were asking for the track list, so I recorded the second show and it is now streaming on my SoundCloud It is obviously very different to the kind of sets I play most weeks, but also very true to the records I would play at clubs like Trash, and how I cut my teeth when I started Djing. Due to it being a support slot for a live show (the recording starts from when doors opened, and ends as the band were about to begin), the emphasis was not to make people dance, but to set the atmosphere. Hope you enjoy it.
I'm sure there's a good reason on behalf of the owners behind it's closure but Plastic People (both the original Oxford Street spot and the latest Curtain Road club) were mighty fine small venues, run by real enthusiasts and the first people to give me an opportunity to run my own night. That night was named 'Trash' and it began exactly 18 years ago, on the first Monday of 1997.. In it's 10 year lifetime, Trash went from 60 people a week (in the original Oxford Street 120 capacity P.P) to the slightly larger Annexe, and then to The End where we were sometimes having to turn hundreds away with 1000 people inside, all on a Monday night. If it wasn't for the fact we started in such an intimate space I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to grow and develop. Good bye and thank you Plastic People.

From Bugged Out to Phantasy, Erol Alkan has an uncanny ability to make opposites not only attract, but absolutely tear up a dancefloor.
