Not gonna lie, Bette Davis is totally on my cosplay list. Allegedly, “Bette Davis” was my nickname when I was 3, in my first ever play. I would strip off my costume and refuse to go on stage. Took me long enough to look into the work of this incredible woman.

Kicking off my con-season with CPAC in Hoboken, NJ next weekend! I'm planning on wearing Vivian (with my good friend @omgimsuchadork as Goombella!!) and Narcissa Malfoy. Can't wait!!! 💕

A lot of inactivity in this blog as of late, but all that is about to change because con season is upon us! As well as a few recent photoshoots I’ve done recently. I took advantage of last month’s snow storm and a local, gorgeous location for my Lyanna Stark cosplay.

And here it is! My updated Vivian cosplay! 

I’ve always wanted to give her an actual costume and not just pulled from my closet and this dress was super simple to make. I also finally added some curl to the wig which I attempted to do with it the first time I got it and failed. 

I am very happy with the result. Thanks to j.seibert @ Instagram for the photos!!

Now that AnimeNext is over with and I have no other cons to attend for the summer, it's time to get to work for Ren Faire!! My Lyanna wig came in yesterday so I did some test shots. Will do more another time with actual makeup. Im excited!!

AnimeNext was great this year! One of the best ones yet, in my opinion. I’ll definitely be back next year.

It was also so much fun bringing out two new cosplays, like Anakin! I’ll have more pics up soon, including a special photoshoot on a very special location by the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Spoiler alert: there’s sand.

I still have a lot of work to do, but I’m happy to announce my cosplay lineup for AnimeNext 2016!! I’m also possibly going to be Rin from Free! on Thursday at the Pre-Reg line.

Anyone know of any Star Wars/Disney shoots happening on Saturday? My friend is going to be my Obi-Wan.

Honestly, it's a miracle I'm still awake at this hour (it is currently 1:30am, three hours past my bedtime; I teach). But suffice it to say that today was an ENORMOUS cosplay success. I worked about 14 hours of my day on not one, but TWO cosplays for AnimeNext. Nowhere near ready is pictured above (Mae from "A League of their Own") but I'm so proud of the work I did on it. Thinking of entering my first ever Hall Cosplay Contest. I've been making these things for 7 years; may as well, right? I also got a pretty decent dent done on Anakin, a cosplay I thought I'd NEVER do (pretty much scrapped it a few months ago), but here I am! Finished his pants today, still have a lot of work, but DAMN. All in all, it's been a tough year for me in the cosplay realm so I'm really proud of the work I've done. Two more weeks!!!

Last year, around February, I got into the anime Free!, and by the time March rolled around, I had added Rin to my list, wig and jacket already ordered to get ready for an event in April. Well, this year, it's Orphan Black, but I only got into it a few weeks ago and I'm already ready to test out my Alison Hendrix cosplay at CPAC tomorrow. I'm excited to join the Clone Club!!

Con Season 2016

Hey all! So spring has officially sprung in the Northeast! The weather has been gorgeous and I don’t think it plans on reverting back to winter chills anytime soon except some chilly rain tomorrow, okay. That being said, it’s prime time to get ready for the upcoming con season! 

There’re a few conventions I want to check out this year, most of them small and local, and now that I’ve officially ordered a desk for my room (I’ve only been in this apartment 7 months now, lol), I can finally set up my sewing machine and start sewing!

First up will be “All the Way Mae!” I already purchased a pattern months ago and I just ordered my patches today! I’m glad I checked Etsy; that one shop had been “closed” for sometime but I’m excited they are back.

Let’s get cracking!

Planned cons/events for 2016:

NJIT Minicon (this was last week, 3/6; Linda Belcher came out, I’ll have to share my photos!)

CPAC (4/23 & 4/24; always wanted to go since a lot of friends attend this one)

Sakura Matsuri @ BBG (4/30 & 5/1)

Anime Fan Fest (5/6 - 5/8)

AnimeNext (6/10 - 6/12)

NYS Renaissance Faire (several weekends throughout August & September)

As of right now, that’s it. I’d love to check out Otakon at it’s last year in Baltimore, but there’s a LOT going on for me this August.
