Flashcards
My Bullet Journal
Hi guys :) I have had an ask or two about my bullet journal so I’m going to show you how it is going so far! I’ve not been doing it long but I enjoy making it look nice and it is helping me to be a lot more productive!
I have a gridded Leuchtturm1917 that is medium sized:)
I’m also trying to stay hydrated so I try to keep track..
I took inspiration from many different bullet journals that I saw across Tumblr so I have just used aspects that I like :) If you have any questions please ask :)
Hope you guys have a good day! :)
Just some images of really satisfying workspaces (not my images)
Trick for if you are really struggling with a deadline! Only use it if you have to though, your teachers will catch on if you use it all the time, they aren't idiots
50 Things I Learned Freshmen Year of College
Freshmen year was 9 months filled with adventure, homesickness, and growth. Here is a list of 50 things I learned in my first year of college.
Take a break from the pizza because the Freshmen 15 is a real thing
Be yourself, no one likes a foozy
From the moment you walk on campus during move in day don’t mention high school
Don’t be too nervous, everyone is on the same boat or was on the same boat as you
Make friends with multiple people who are ethnically/religiously/ ideologically different from you
Upperclassmen aren’t sharks
Make friends with Juniors and Seniors, there are plenty of perks that comes with this friendship.
Don’t forget why you are in college
Day before classes start, walk around campus and locate where your classes will be held so you won’t get lost
Don’t get lost on the first day
Sit in the front row, right in front of the professor
Introduce yourself to your professors during office hours
GO TO OFFICE HOURS! Your professor will love you for it
Study your butt off, at least 2-4 hours per class
Learn what type of learner you are as early as possible
Color code, flashcards, and planners = life savers
Read the textbook, it may not seem like it helps but reading the textbook will help reinforce what was taught in another way
Check out Slugbooks.com for great deals on books
Don’t pay full price for a textbook, sites like Slugbooks will save your life and your bank account will be very happy
Keep your desk clean and tidy
Don’t fall asleep during class your teachers will notice
Try to sleep for at least 8 hours a night
Realize that it may be a little impossible to sleep 8hrs each night
Investing in earplugs and sleeping masks
Don’t study on your bed. You will fall asleep!
You have to think quick on your feet, things change quickly
Meditation can help tremendously
Just remember this Breath in 1,2,3,4,5 breath out 1,2,3,4,5
There is nothing wrong with talking to the school’s therapist
Don’t take your mental health for granted
Keeping a diary/journal helps with anxiety
Take advantage of the gym… in the real world memberships to fitness centers are really expensive
Same goes for any type of services offered at school
Reading the newspaper, be informed
Going to Wal-Mart will hurt your wallet.
No, you do not need that blanket/tumbler/dress
If you have to think of why you may need something, that means you shouldn’t really buy it
Don’t wear Uggs if it’s snowing outside
Dress appropriate to the weather, you will look like an idiot if you’re wearing a cardigan and it’s 15 degrees outside.
You and your roommate may be on ends with one another in various times of the year, especially before big exams.
If you want to hook up with everyone you know, have one night stands, not have sex at all, Do you, just do it respectfully.
Tell your roommate before you have someone spend the night
You may lose touch with some high school friends
Taking lots of pictures helps when you’re home on break, and you’re missing your friends from school
Don’t knock Greek Life without giving it at least one chance
Frat parties are actually pretty lame, unless you’re super drunk already then maybe it’d be interesting
Don’t bring so much stuff from home to your dorm
Cleaning up after yourself will be much appreciated by your roommates
To lose a little weight try drinking more water and less alcohol
Even if there are rough patches during your first year of college, the bright and beautiful days that you can look back on makes it all worthwhile.

My Bullet Journal Set-up
My goal page involves my goals and quotes to motivate myself
I added a monthly to-do page to have a clean look for the month
My monthly planner page allows me to plan my study / revision
Habit-tracking to build up habits regarding health, learning, and finance
I also colour-code my journal entries for clear reference
my post-its used are also following the colour code (e.g. purple for extra learning and reading)
So I made a weekly planner I truly intend to use!! (It looks so empty but it’s the summer semester and I only have one class!)I just found out about the studyblr community and it is so, so inspiring. I am sharring it with you as my first ever contribution to the studyblr! Yay!
I made four versions on the variation of the tiny deers at the top (I love them, but maybe someone won’t want them there!) and the blanks for the daily objectives. My personal objectives are 1) work on school things 2) read a few pages of a book since I’m doing the “2015 Reading Challenge” 3) write a minimum of 100 words of anything and 4) spend less money!
With the deers
One blank version
Two blanks version
Without the deers
One blank version
Two blanks version
If you use it or make a variation of it please like or reblog so I know I helped someone! Thanks! :) Oh and I’m not a study blog, I’m a hockey blog: don’t follow or you’ll be invaded by handsome dorks.
EDIT: There is a Monthly Expenses Chart that matches this planner.
- HOW I ORGANIZE MYSELF-
Finally, I’m going to show/explain how I organize myself using 3 different notebooks and some loose papers! (I’m sorry it took so long!)
I’m just going to give you a quick overview but if you are interested in detailed information about the things mentioned leave me a message and I’m going to make a special post for it :)
So lets start :)
The notebooks:
I use 3 different kinds of notebooks (black, pink and green one).
the black one works as an agenda (pic 2) where I color code my appointments seperating between university and personal life.I also write down when I want to go run, visit my parents or if anything special is happening that day (small annotations). I use the right side of the page as a mini to do list, too.
the pink one works as a bullet journal (pic 1) where I write daily to do lists. I also write down my finances, my monthly goals, a habit tracker and what I want to buy or read.
the green one works as my study journal (pic 5). basically I just sit down at the start of the week and write down every little thing I need to get done for university the upcoming week. I check off what i get done and after the week is over I highlight the things I didn’t get done and write them on the list for next week!
Why do I do this?
First of all it helps me to keep track of what I need to get done and what I actually do. I find myself forgetting small assignments way too often and by writing it down and checking off what I actually managed to get done I feel way more productive. I usually write my daily to do lists in the morning while drinking some coffee and it gives me more time during the day to work on those instead of having to think about all the things that still need to be done :)
All the other stuff I use:
Next to my notebooks I also use a semester planner, a monthly study guide and a weekly study guide to stay on track. (pic 4,6,7)
semester planner (pic 4/7, top): basically that’s just my class schedule, all the exam dates and the dates for my lab courses so that I don’t forget those and keep them in my mind.
monthly study guide (pic 4/7, bottom): I use this as my monthly calendar and I fill in what classes I want to work on that day. This is especially helpful with (multiple) upcoming exams to keep track of what you want to work on
weekly study guide (pic 6): At the start of the week I sit down with my study journal and plan out what I can get done and when. This is really helpful to have realistic goals and that way you don’t have to worry about what you have to get done when sitting down to study.
That’s basically it :)
To some of you this might seem unnecessary or overly planned out but I just like to have things planned out.
Of course this does not work out for everybody and I don’t follow it 100% because life happens and sometimes things get in the way but i try to and it helps me to be more productive!
If you want to know some more about single parts (like just my bullet journal, etc) just leave me a quick message and I will try to make a seperate post for it!
If you find some grammatical errors/ spelling errors leave me a message okay? I only slept for 2 hours last night and english is not my native language so I might have done some mistakes :)
