"Your the biggest disappointment, I seen in my life! You walk around like this is how life is and just let it go!" I don't expect him to understand my mind frame, we grew up in different times and I'm not one to just conform to what everyone else wants and does. We have different comfort zones. He spent his life working. Abide by the laws and work! I understand my grandfather's mindset but he can't see the bigger picture in that thought process. Of course, I could find a job and work for 40 hours a week, for 40 years, to make some other person and family rich! I rather look at life differently, I could work on building my own and trying to get us out this poverty struggle. "You can't just stop working somewhere because you don't like it," He continued. "Your not doing anything positive! I don't see any positive actions from you! Such a disappointment!" I zoned him out after that, because I rather ignore negativity. Especially since, the last three years I have been trying my hardest to change out of my bad habits. I've done lost everybody close to me in the process, and all I did was change my mind for the better of myself and them. I know he been around longer than I have but his view of life, was distilled in me as a child growing up. I use to work constantly, so much I would miss out on family events and still be struggling to pay bills. "30 years old and don't have anything to show" He still talking, no disrespect, I love my family but none of them see my view of life. The only one that is really figuring out life and learning how to rid the poor mindset, yet I am the negative one. I still got a couple years before, I am 30. They say let go and let god, but they never said how to do it. I figured out how to do it, but now I am the bad guy! The worse part, in my eyes is, I changed myself to help them. I didn't just do it for me, I am doing it for my family. He right, he doesn't see any positivity because he too busy focusing on the negatives. Your eyes only see what your focus is on. I know because, I use to be focused on getting different woman, partying, getting high and working a job! Majority of my life was nice and peaceful, but I couldn't see that during those times because I was too busy thinking why I wasn't lucky enough to have what the next person had. I am glad he brought the negativity around. I am use to getting that, but now I can see the advantages of those times. They help you learn, and deal with life. Let you know, never get comfortable with life because life is always changing. Thank you, Pop Pop, for yet another lesson, even if you can't see it!
