GMMTV 2026 Most Anticipated Shows!!
This is just my personal opinion!
For reference, I am a total sucker for high school/coming-of-age/slice-of-life shows, especially ones with a touch of hardships that just come with daily life. To that end, I also love angst, pining and a bit of mess, but only when it's internal/done right (not a huge fan of angst spurred by money/family/revenge). Could be convinced by action/drama.
1. You Maniac (WilliamEst, BarcodeKin)
Because whose number 1 isn't this show???!?!?! ThamePo was my absolute favorite BL of 2025 (followed by Boys In Love), and WilliamEst are going places I never thought they'd go. But I'm shook, you're shook, your dog's shook and we're all shaking in anticipation for the day they release this juggernaut that is sure to shake the industry. I love messy, emotional gays who think they can do no strings attached until they meet each other and all logic flies out the window. WilliamEst as red flags is something I didn't know I needed until now, plus Barcode as wingman and comedic relief is just the cherry on top. I apologize in advance for the person I'm going to become when this airs, because trust I will be screaming about this!!
2. 17th Spring (ChokunAston, PodPapang)
My babies!!!!! I can't believe they got a show, I'm literally going to scream. This is such a different dynamic from KimMon in Boys In Love, but I love it so dearly already. This is exactly my cup of tea—a heartfelt coming-of-age story about pain, family, and growth, with an older couple (PodPapang!!!) who also face their own hardships as they navigate life. I love how they don't shy away from the discussion of HIV and what it's like not only health-wise but also how it affects friendships and budding relationships, and I know Chokun and Aston are going to pull these roles off in the most earnest and sincere way. The plot and characters remind me a bit of HeartLiming in Moonlight Chicken, who are my all-time favorite pair. I know this is directed by New Siwaj who has a questionable track record, but My Only 12% (which has similar elements of coming-of-age and family) was good, and I have faith that 17th Spring can be great if not incredible.
3. Twenty One (JuniorMark, NutHong)
I've never watched a series with JuniorMark in it but I've heard so much, and I'm already 1000% convinced by their chemistry in this trailer alone!! I love how they go from coworkers to friends to lovers(?) with a side of pining, mixed feelings and city life (I love love love that they're a bouncer and singer at a bar, it's so refreshing and real). AND NUTHONG!!!! I've been shipping them since ThamePo and I can't believe GMMTV actually gave them to us. So excited for this one!!!
4. Moonshadow (EmiBonnie, Film)
A sugar baby trope, let alone one for a GL, was not in my 2026 bingo card, but I'm SO HERE FOR IT!! EmiBonnie's chemistry is absolutely on fire, and I love both the internal conflict that comes with the power dynamics, as well as the external conflict with Film in her villain era. Bonnie does yearning so well, and I've seen Emi in so many different roles, but her as a sugar mommy just has me on my knees. Praying for an early release!! (Please I can't wait a whole year like we did with Us)
This might be a controversial one to put so high up, but I've recently been bingeing everything SeaKeen, and I'm absolutely obsessed!! Their dynamic in every show is so different, and Sea as a nerd is the CUTEST THING TO GRACE THIS PLANET!! I'm not the biggest fan of how the title implies that this clearly neurodivergent teen is a weirdo, but I'll cut them the same slack I cut 23.5 for calling Aylin an alien. Sea's "free hug kap" from the trailer lives rent-free in my mind, and Aston as Keen's taekwondo bestie, Aungpao as Keen's friend with an obvious unrequited crush on him, and Thor as the taekwondo master(?) sealed the deal for me. This looks like a sweet coming-of-age story, maybe a little less sincere and down-to-earth than 17th Spring, but I'm sat for SeaKeen who already have such a diverse portfolio and deserve all the recognition.
6. My Professional Boyfriend (WinnySatang)
From prince and fisherman to debtor-turned-escort and clan heir, WinnySatang are really following this year's trend of turning typecasting onto its head. I'm not the biggest fan of miscommunication/lying plots, but the visuals, Chinese elements and unique dynamic are too good to ignore. Plus June and Ployphach look gorgeous, and WinnySatang's physical chemistry have absolutely exploded off the charts. Satang plays coy and seductive surprisingly well, and rich looks good on Winny. Looking forward to seeing how this one evolves in the final cut!
7. Enemies With Benefits (JanJingjing)
Jan girl kisser era again (it's been so long since The Warp Effect)!!! Never saw this one coming but I'm so so excited, their chemistry is already incredible and I love a good secret relationship (or FWB-ship). I'm not as big of a fan of college/office shows (in my mind they're along the same vein because office shows often feature college interns or vice versa (looking at you How to Survive My CEO and Plan B to U)), but this one is funny, refreshing and pretty. Plus KapookCiize??? I'm sold. GIVE IT TO ME NOWWW
8. The Invisible Dragon (FirstKhao)
I'm not gonna lie, when I first watched all of the trailers, this one did not catch my eye at all. I like my FirstKhao a tiny bit toxic (I blame Only Friends), and this felt like Cat for Cash all over again—no plot, just pretty shots and prettier criers dispersed throughout. But then I watched it again, and for some reason it just hit me like a brick. The family drama, the way FirstKhao look at each other, the beautiful scenery—even though it looks like the pilot trailer was shot in a grand total of 2 hours in one (1) location, it's still so beautiful and heartfelt. Only FirstKhao could pull off something like talking cats and dragon dancers as the sole plot device of an entire show, and I want so badly for this to have the same vibe as Moonlight Chicken. I hope the official trailer has more than just the few breadcrumbs this gave us!!
9. Lovers & Gangsters (ForceBook, GreatBright)
This one might be surprising given my aversion to (fear of?) ganster/mafia BLs, but I can't deny it looks so good. ForceBook have improved exponentially over the years, and I feel like all of that is going to culminate in this show that will test their acting chops and push them outside their comfort zones. I'm not the biggest fan of betrayal/lying plots, but Great with a new pair will be interesting. I may be turned away by the violence, but trust I will be sat for at least the first episode.
Me watching the Good Boy pilot for the first time, thinking it's a TayNew pilot: Hmm New is playing a burnt-out office worker again? And what does that have to do with good boys?
Me 10 seconds later: LUKEMICK!!!!!
My shaylaaaa omg I love these pookies so much. I love how everyone's just doing opposite dynamics this year—this time, Luke is the class president and Mick is the troublemaker!! I do wish there were some side couples since I'm not sure the time travel plot itself will be enough to fill an entire show, but with how many series GMMTV is planning to release in 2026, I wouldn't be surprised if this only had 8 or so episodes. It's giving My School President with a sprinkle of Boys In Love and every other high school BL ever, but I'll love it every time. 2389578942 bonus points for casting TayNew as LukeMick's older selves—I never saw the resemblance before, but it's uncanny! Will watch when I need fluff and puppy love in my life.
Honorable Mention: When Oranges Fall (AlmondProgress)
I bought the Thai version of this novel when I visited Thailand in 2023 simply because I liked the cover (I can't read Thai lol), and I can't believe it has a live action now! I'll finally know what it's about... I haven't watched LoveSick 2024 but AlmondProgress are so adorable, and this also looks like a super down-to-earth coming-of-age story. May or may not watch, but looks so cute.
Popular Trailers that I'm Not Anticipating as Much
I know everyone's raving about the bigger couples (OffGun, JoongDunk, PerthSanta, MilkLove, NamtanFilm, AouBoom, SkyNani/DewTee, JimmySea, EarthMix, BounPrem, SingtoKrist, etc.) but I'm not as compelled by their trailers as these ones. I don't particularly follow shows based on the pairings/actors' popularity, and the trailers I liked the most ended up having some underrated pairings, which I actually like because you never know what hidden gems there are!! I will say I do have quite boring taste (I started watching BLs in 2019, so I guess I'm a bit antiquated), so my list is not very diverse. But GMMTV is going bigger and better every year, so I think everyone's satisfied, which is a lot more than we can say for previous years. Praying for at least half of these to be released in 2026!!
