“Mara” oil on canvas, 70*100 cm⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ In the old days, many nationalities had their own ideas about the goddess of death. Among the Slavs, she was named "Madder" or "Mara" (from the Sanskrit "mara" – destroying). The roots of this word stretch to the Indo-European "mar / mor", associated with pestilence and epidemic.⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ Taking the souls of the dead, Mara allowed them to be reborn again. Over time, people began to forget about it, and it was associated exclusively with death, bringing fear to the souls of people. She was presented to our ancestors as a light-skinned, dark-haired and black-eyed beauty, the embodiment of ice and dignity. ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ The moth is a talisman of immortality and rebirth, the ability to transform. It emerges from the caterpillar, transforming into a cocoon. In many cultures, the moth symbolizes the ability to transform and the beauty.⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ The skull, which seems to be peeking through the translucent fabric, is a symbol of overcoming the fear of death. In many cultures, it has also become a symbol of vital energy, fortitude and physical invulnerability. In my work, it is associated with death in the key of rebirth granted by Mara. ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ Working in a limited color palette helps to focus on the moment, to explore the state of the character. Here I use monochrome painting as a tool to create a dramatic effect. Despite its simplicity, the work done in monochrome is able to surprise. It seems to arouse the curiosity of the observer, giving scope to the imagination.⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ •⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ “Мара” холст, масло, 70*100 см⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ В старину у многих народностей были свои представления о богине смерти. У славян она носила имя «Марена» или «Мара» (от санскр. «mara» – уничтожающий). Корни этого слова тянутся к индоевропейскому «мар/мор», связанному с мором и эпидемией.⁣⁣⠀ Забирая души умерших, Мара позволяла им вновь переродиться. Со временем об этом стали забывать, и она ассоциировалась исключительно со смертью, принося страх в души людей. Just finished a new oil series. This is the first half of mini photorealistic paintings, which I’m so proud of🙂 While working on them I realized, that I really adore painting tiny details, because some of this artworks took me 2-3 days to complete🖤⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣Size 10*15 cm, oil on paper.⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ •⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ Совсем недавно я закончила новую серию фотореалистичных мини-работ. She always wore a delicate moth necklace on a thin gold chain around her neck. The moth necklace was a family heirloom passed down from her grandmother and it was said to bring good luck and prosperity to the wearer.⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ •⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ “MelanChloe”⠀масло на грунтованной фанере, 30*40 см.⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ Давным-давно жила-была прекрасная девушка по имени Хлоя. Она была известна своей поразительной красотой, добрым сердцем и уникальным вкусом в ювелирных украшениях. Она всегда носила на шее изящное ожерелье в форме мотылька на тонкой золотой цепочке. “Midnight” acrylic on primed plywood, 21*30.5 cm⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ This artwork was inspired by Mark Tennant’s paintings and his ability to capture small details using light, movement, and wide brushstrokes. I was impressed with this effect of bright flash that gives his young subjects the appearance of having been the unsuspecting subjects of late-night Polaroid snapshots. And of course I’m a but jealous about how artists like Mark feel free with painting such a realistic artworks with big brushstrokes and such an amazing feeling of colour🖤⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ •⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ “Midnight” акрил на грунтованной фанере, 21*30.5 см⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ Эта работа была вдохновлена картинами Марка Теннанта и его способностью запечатлеть мелкие детали, используя свет, движение и широкие мазки кистью. Меня впечатлил эффект яркой вспышки, который делает героев его картин объектами внезапных ночных полароид-снимков.
