*taps mic* can i interest you in THE COUNT OF MONTE-CRISTO himself? the man who singlehandedly ruined the economy, instilled terror and drove people mad; a poor sailor made rich with old treasure from the island of Monte-Cristo; a devoted believer in God and Providence, fancying himself an avenging angel. additionally, he’s good at babysitting kids for some reason despite his age.
the blog is heavily based on the novel; FGO & Drama CD are canon to it too. do exercise caution though, since the count is quite a dangerous person to have around.
♡ and / or ↻ if you are interested in interacting with him!
ROLEPLAY HISTORY !
The rules are simple ! Post ten characters you’d like to roleplay as, have role-played as and might bring back. Then tag ten people to do the same ( if you can’t think of ten characters, just write down however many you can and tag the same amount of people ). Aside from that, please repost instead of reblogging !

“ of course, the blue cover. ” —– demanding, though startling from someone who looks so disarming, was not met with annoyance but rather an amused smile. she held mordred’s temperament from a time when they were closer, surely. “ this seems like quite the hefty book; is there anything else that you need? ”
Did he notice how she was eyeing another one of the books? That probably wasn’t the case, but the question threw her off guard for a moment. Far be it from her, though, to turn down the offer. Accepting the first book and holding it over part of her face, she made her next request in a considerably milder tone. ❝ Do you see the one with the title starts with ‘Liu Bang?’ I’d like to have that one too. ❞ The full title was really: ‘Liu Bang and Xiang Yu.’

@eternalament || CONTINUED.
“I’m selfish, but not that kind of selfish. I don’t want to curry favor. I don’t want special treatment, either.”
She gives a small sigh, still smiling despite the saline leaking as a byproduct of a verbal slap – it’s what she expected (and she’d earned it), but nonetheless, it was a sudden sting. For all she’s worth, she’s just Chiemi: foolish, presumptuous, still a child. That’s all she can be even in times like this.
“I’m sorry that I can’t really do much about the way I am now, ma’am, but I’ll learn. I’ll learn how to make less of a right ass of myself. It isn’t fair to anyone if I’m still like this by the time things – by the time this is over. I’m sheltered, I’m naive, and I’m overly-optimistic. I know that. So I’ll learn how not to be, for everyone around me, including you.”
She doesn’t bother wiping her eyes – it would look more pathetic, she thinks, if she stopped to do so than it does with her crying as she is now. ( – she is in this moment, genuine, a creature laid bare before this woman whose future she so rudely demolished.) A nod of her head, a clearing of her throat: there’s no indicator she’s crying aside from the tears and occasional voice cracks, which may irritate, but are hardly so bad.
“I’m gonna reintroduce myself, for whatever that’s worth. I’m Chiemi McDowell-Abernathy, I don’t want to be called Master, and you don’t have to call me by name either. You can call me kid, or squirt, or brat, or anything you want. I’ll ask before I talk to you from now on, and I won’t use a name for you that you don’t like. You can take as long as you need before working with me. That’s just fine. I’ve done you enough hurt.”
Why the hell was the girl bothering to reintroduce herself? It wasn’t like Yu had short-term memory, nor could she just up and forget even if she wanted to after all that time spent listening to Kirschtaria and the others talk about Chaldea’s Master. ❝ Stop it with the pity party. I reap what I sow for answering your summons. I don’t have to like you to acknowledge you as my Master, so what do you take me for? A freeloader? I’ll do what I need to, and you are free to use me as you see fit. ❞
The more the girl’s voice shook, the sharper Yu’s tone became. ❝ Why are you wasting your breath anyway? Your character development has nothing to do with me. Don’t try to use me as an excuse for whatever you do from hereon out after you stupidly called on me to be your Servant. ❞ And, as far as she was concerned, the relationship between them couldn’t be anything more than Master and Servant; overcomplicating it was utterly pointless. A human and a ‘monster?’ How laughable.
❝ By the way, since you seem to be forgetting this: we’re fundamentally different. You’re just a human child who doesn’t know anything. I’m an Elemental who lives and dies with the planet itself. What do you possibly think you can do for me? ❞ Decades, centuries, and millennia have passed, but how many people had ever managed to truly understand? If Chiemi had lived even just a year of Yu’s life–-the fragile thing probably wouldn’t have been able to handle it. That was what the Assassin concluded as she regarded her Master’s tearstained face with a cold, hateful gaze.
gywir:
“ i think i could reach that if you would like me to try. er, if you do not mind my sudden intrusion. ”
❝ Wha...! ❞ Where did this guy come from?! Trying to regain her composure, she hastily pointed up towards the shelves. ❝ ––okay, that book with the blue cover! I want it. Hurry up. ❞
pragmarage:
// @eternalament || cont. ✘
“ Hoohhh…someone is being too defensive here. ” Could one blame her however? His piercing gaze was on purpose with a clear intent on making the Assassin bewildered and uncomfortable. Truth be told, the Vice Commander was not keen about her. A lingering suspicion that fixated his attention onto her. There were many questionable Servants, some of which led him to question the sanity of Chaldea’s main Master for being too soft on or lenient.
This Assassin was one of them. The way she talked, the way she held herself and even now the way she reacted over his phrase. She too appeared to be rather distant––typically, the Vice Commander would not concern himself or waste his time getting ‘ friendly ’ ( what a term used so loosely ). He could not care less about their personal lives lest they decided to share with him first. But as the Assassin might have fabricated the slight paranoia, the Berserker may be unnecessarily suspicious.
In other words, he’s making a minor exception due to distrust.
“ Whatever helps you sleep at night. ” He retorted sarcastically and continued: “ I’d hate to break the news to a fine lady, but sticking the nose where it doesn’t belong is sometimes required by the Shinsengumi police. ”
❝ Defensive––?! ❞ If she was ‘too defensive’, then that was his fault for being too offensive in the first place! He was the one who had the gall to step out of line! The line she had so carefully drawn around herself since arriving here! No one was supposed to just do so, not even that foolish and naive Master!
No, wait; she had to calm down. It wasn’t like her to be this disturbed by some idiot’s drivel, even if said idiot continued to regard her with growing intensity. Averting her gaze momentarily and bringing a hand up to her forehead, she grumbled, ❝ You humans are really good at coming up excuses to be intrusive. Religious cults, political organizations... Hah. It’s always the groups you all like to use, isn’t it? That everyone else is right, while the one persecuted is wrong. ❞
Her breath finally steady again, she crossed her arms and tried to look him in the eye once more. Except... why couldn’t she shake off the feeling that she was more transparent than she wanted to be under that stare? It might have just been paranoia, but...!
––she really couldn’t take this anymore!
❝ Ugh, you know what?! Put this on first! ❞ Taking off her own glasses, she shoved them out towards him. ❝ I don’t care if your head’s too big or whatever! I have spares anyway! Just get this on your face before you say anything else! ❞
❝ When you are who they expect you to be, they never look too closely. ❞
the gilded wolves // not accepting–– sent by Berserker (Hijikata Toshizo); @pragmarage
Of course she wasn’t ignorant to how that remark described the lifestyle she had adhered to for centuries on end. To deny it now would be pointless, nonsensical, to say the least; far too many knew the truth in Chaldea for her to think that she could slide by the same way as before. It wasn’t really that bothersome either, but––for some reason, hearing such a comment from this person had her scowling in a matter of seconds.
‘Why was that?’ she wondered. The longer she stood at the receiving end of the Vice Commander’s stern stare, the more sour her expression became. That stare was too cutting, and it felt almost like she was standing a sword point There was a chance that this was all a fabrication of her mind, but she still disliked it.
❝ What is this supposed to be? ❞ she snapped, wholly unafraid but discomforted to a certain extent. ❝ Advice? Random side commentary? Whatever it is, stop sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong, Berserker. ❞

Xan Audupon ( @ariacle ) said: ❝ When you are who they expect you to be, they never look too closely. ❞
❝ ...what they expect? ❞ Was she to be the ‘monster’ that they wanted her to be, or the girl who kept to herself and would not leave much of an impression? It wasn’t wrong to say that both roles were part of her character. She was always bound by these expectations in some way or another, and thus she became a flower that could not bloom. Not until a noble warlord lifted those shackles from her and saw what she could have been.
Wryly, she replied, ❝ Hah. Ironic, isn’t it? To conveniently forget someone after selfishly forcing them into a mold they never had a choice for. ❞
OMG…I made a mistake deleting this painting…(crying Trying the Chinese painting style. She is Yu Miaoyi from FGO chapter 2-3.
❝ Superstitions are useless. ❞
the gilded wolves // accepting! x–– sent by Saber (Okita Souji); @okixxts
❝ That depends on the perspective. ❞ Eyebrows furrowed, she glanced at Saber briefly, trying to see what brought this on. It wasn’t that she was irritated so much as she couldn’t understand the purpose of this topic, and part of her wanted to just end it there. But there was something about Okita’s side profile––perhaps the way the swordsman carried herself, despite having lived a shortened life––that encouraged Yu to continue in a low voice.
❝ People become afraid when they don’t understand something, so they desperately search for an explanation. They look for a way to solve their problems, even if it’s stupid. For example, if an unknown illness suddenly befalls a small town and a black cat happens to have shown up at around the same time, then the people may believe that getting rid of the cat will cure the disease. ❞
There was no reason for her to have gone into such detail; it sounded almost personal, but she wouldn’t tell, and instead she smiled wryly. ❝ How easy it would be for someone to take advantage of that. ❞
elusivemaster:
The way Yu reacted was something Hakuno hasn’t seen in a long time. It reminded her of Rin Tohsaka back during the Holy Grail War on the Moon. Scratching her head, Hakuno gave a weary smile in response to Assassin’s words.
“Well, I wasn’t exactly following you for you really.”
…
She just dug her own grave.
She needs to….dig herself out.
“Besides, you’re an Assassin, right? You can easily just leave me in the dust.”
❝ –– haaah? What’s that supposed to mean? ❞ Should she even be asking? Probably not, but the question was asked anyway because of how ridiculous this girl sounded. Yu was becoming more and more convinced that this really was a sorry excuse for a prank, and was about to continue on with a scathing remark when she was thrown off balance. The thought of using Presence Concealment really hadn’t occurred to her until just now. Not that she would ever admit it. ❝ Well, yes, I can, but you have the look of someone who’ll keep trying! So, like I said, go somewhere else! I’m not going to babysit you. ❞
