Xena: Warrior Princess 6x18 - When Fates Collide (2001)
elementary my beloved they really couldn't make a show more catered to me if they tried. autistic and aromantic main character with a ridiculous amount of similar experiences to me. detective show with actual unique mysteries. 154 episodes. incredibly adaptionally interesting version of sherlock holmes . queerplatonicism. genderbent watson and moriarty. a well explored addiction plotline. a tortoise. copious lesbian subtext. it even has lucy liu.
Me (A time traveler visiting 20-year old Mozart): OK, so, this is called an electric guitar, basically instead of the body functioning as a resonance chamber, it produces music by harnessing the power of lightning. Do you have any other questions?
Mozart (Currently shredding Violin Concerto No. 1 on the guitar, having figured it out within 30 seconds): What other music can be made from harnessed lightning?
Me (Loading up some heavy dubstep): Oh, we're just getting started.
and if i said the twelth doctor?
Spicy hot take: the way RTD treats Ncuti Gatwa's doctor feels a bit fetishistic. There is this obsession with how good Gatwa looks. From his first appearance being him running around in his underwear, to having Jodie say to him: "Blimey, you're gorgeous. Your face is absolutely beautiful."
Even having him not have a permanent outfit feels like it's part of it. I mean, we couldn't possibly deprive the audience of seeing Ncuti in all these fitted historical outfits right? The doctor use to dress and look like an absolute nerd, but now his outfits are stylish and cool, eccentuating exactly the right parts.
Idk man, it just feels really weird.
Happy Homecoming Ian and Barbara- 26th June.

pride flag for nonbinary asexual aromantic individuals that just says "not gonna do all that"
and it has the dragon from the welsh flag on it
Truth in the heart of heresy.

missy is exactly the correct response to "what would the master do if they regenerated into a body perceived by humans as a woman". you must understand that the master finds human bigotry funny and loves to dress up. she's doing human gender as drag and leaning into the misogyny because it's fucking hilarious to her, right down to the name missy
what if we admitted to each other that it's not always really romance that we want. What if we admitted that what we're really craving is intimacy and society taught us romance is the only way to get it.
Ares cares so so much about what Xena thinks of him and it's so funny because she barely gives a single shit. He's over here like "hey, hey Xena you can still join up with me hey Xena do you not remember when we were close hey Xena wasn't this fun??" meanwhile Xena's busy declaring her eternal love to Gabrielle for like the third time this week
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Now at this last we must take a hard road, a road unforeseen. There lies our hope, if hope it be.
"it's just stress" oh thank god, it's just the silent killer that slowly kills you, perfectly harmless, no need to worry
And Xena, ladies and gentlemen, is the lamb.
Why did the Buffy writers treat Christian mythology as an untouchable taboo in a show STEEPED in Christian imagery like holy water and crosses while Xena was out there inserting herself into whole Bible stories?
