New years!
update. me and my best friend got our apartment it's a dream cometrue! it's a loft space 2 bedroom. weredoing good for a couple of artists! :I'm blessed and truly happy to experience this with my best friend and my little sister. things are about to change forever in our lives. and it starts with the new year. I'm still not used to the Manhattan life...been a brooklyn boy my whole life but I'll adjust. I'll always see brooklyn as home!

so it was around 5 am in my house and I got hella bored I wasn't sleepy so I decided to just grab some paints and acrylic inks laying around and have some fun. I found my wwe title laying around, and was like why not, I don't do anything with it, might as well mess it up.
and so I did and I like the outcome,

so there's this girl.... who's gone, I liked her but she didn't feel the same way, it's life though, It's mainly my fault for putting myself in the position to really start caring for her. It's obvious I'm not ready for anything, and I'm more hung up.
sigh,,, things in general hasn't been working out at all lately
So there's this girl...
yikes... I knew this day would come.there's this girl I kinda like and would love to date, she's too good to be true, and literally feels that way, she's out in California right now at the moment, but will be back in October,but she's definately worth the wait... the problem is I don't feel like I've been living up to my promises or my potential, and things may simply go awry because well I'm used to that pattern....
none the less I think it'd be amazing for something to blossom between us
ungh now I'm flustered I'm legit crushing on someone again.
My first Art battle.

I was challenged this August to a live drawing session art battle, the challenger is a close friend and artist as well, I'm a bit stoked for the challenge but at the same time I've never drawn live well that's not true I draw live when I'm making murals.
this will be my first time in a closed space competitively going at it though, I'm honored to be chosen for this bout, but at the same time I'm a bit nervous, I've been wanting to do this for a long time now but never found the right opportunity to do so, now I have a chance and well, I'm still reeling from a heavy art block... so I'm a bit afraid, but if there's one thing I've learned it's not to dwell on what could happen and just go for it.
I gotta thank my friend Ray for this gift, I’ve wanted a moleskine watercolor book for a while now, it’s very thoughtful! I definitely owe you one!
while flipping through these sketchbooks I found a sketch I really like and I think I found what I was looking for in terms of creating something for an Art auction benefit I'll be donating my art work to this October! this is why it's handy to keep old sketchbooks!
while cleaning up and finding my sketchbooks I found a particular gem. a sketchbook from High school, it was a gift from a teacher who I considered an older sister and a mentor in art, perhaps one of my earliest mentors I’ve ever had. she took me under her wing and when I lost my portfolio she got me a new sketchbook of her own accord and inscribed this on the inside cover. I kept that book and filled it cover to cover with lessons on art and all my best works from that time.
some times it’s really the little things that move and propel you forward.
The Journey through Summer
June 21st 2014 my road to summer ended. June 21st My Journey through summer begins. There's been a lot of build up to get to these days ahead. I plan to do my very best. Be patient with myself and my process and break my bad habits. Great adventure waits and now it's time to live up to the man and artist I want to be.
the road to summer 2014
I've talked about it a little, but The road to summer has been something constant with me since December 2013 I went through one cruel winter, and spring has been pretty pleasant yet with many challenges concerning becoming legal guardian of my sister and finding the right employment. with employment settled and the guardianship on its way to a close. that leaves my ambitions to be fulfilled. once June 1st hit I gave myself and some close friends who are looking to ignite change in their lives. a time stamp of days before summer begins.
Basically we have x amount of days from the 1st to the 20th of June when summer begins to be as lazy and unproductive as we want. When the 20th hits no more excuses, no more games, no more holding back it's time to work harder and do whatever we can, whatever it takes, and what we have to to secure what and who we want to be.

The last exported Sketch from my Tablet before it was taken, its kind of upsetting to think about all the art and art apps I spent to really customize that tablet... but it gets to a point where you're not angry to much just tired, Like that type of tired where you're like mixed with "are you really kidding me right now/ungh I have to start all over.but that's what new beginnings are for right?
the sketch was a doodle of a a really creative friend of mines she's a master of words.
The Road to summer.
It's been a very harsh and long winter for 2014... I watched my mother battle cancer and unfortunately... she didn't make it through... since then I've become the sole provider of my little sister... I love my sister to death and I want to be the best brother and parental figure I can. I'm 22 years old so I know I have a steep curve of learning to do. from then on I created the Idea of a "Journey" A road to summer, which would test me as I grow into the man I aspire to be as well as artist.
I want to prove to my sister, as well as myself that you can follow your dreams and provide for the people you love while grinding through tough times. it's now june 12th 2014, the road to summer is coming to a close and this blog is my story.
