One thing that is fun about listening to different actual play podcasts/shows is taking note of what traits the GM gives near-universally to their NPCs. I.e. what traits they believe, subconsciously or not, that all people either have or should have.
You get this with books and other media as well, of course, but nearly all other media has filters in place before it arrives to your eyes. Revisions, editors, collaborators. But improv storytelling? You are getting the pizza straight out of the oven. No time to slice it neater or pick any toppings off.
This isn't specifically a bad thing, and even very good GMs do it! Sometimes the reason for this is just the genre or game system demanding certain universal truths. But everyone's creativity is to some extent a product of their own perceptions and biases, so you'll usually find a little more beneath that if you look closer... Or if the GM happens to have a perspective very different from your own!
@tubapun was talking in the Blinkshark server about how Lup's relic was one of the only ones to kill one of the birds, and that it killed Barry And she said "Do you think as he died the fire felt familiar?"
And I was also thinking how being killed by Lup's relic is what led him to remembering her again, and finding the first substantial clues to finding her
