The tournament. It felt like yesterday that the battle of all guilds was held. That too. How could she not remember that? Just thinking it back still bring chills to the bones. Although she knows that will never happen again, that the future has been saved, the picture of yourself dying in front of your eyes is something she just can’t erase.
Shaking her thoughts to fly away inwardly, the question has been brought. The guild. How could she put it into simpler statement to be understood well?
Although no response was able to be delivered, Mavis suspected the young celestial wizard had been merely searching for the eloquence to express herself. It's a feeling she can relate to, one that had been central to the foundings of the location they both adored. Naturally, it was with a gentle smile that the guild master relaxed and allowed the pause to linger before a hushed giggle passed.
"Your eyes say it all." In them was love; love so warm that it was all the other could do not to tear up at her gratitude towards the place that had undoubtedly become her second family. "This world... there's a lot of people who could use a guild like Fairy Tail, don't you think?" Friends were what maintained a balance so crucial to existence, to eliminate the isolation that could drive a man mad.
"I hope to see it grow even more."
Five flowers have bloomed!
{ ✿ } A small giggle came from the blonde’s lips, smiling at the other. She was so tiny and cute that Shiemi could’ve mistakened her for a child. "It’s o-okay!"she replied, the smile still on her lips. "You’re in m-my g-garden, outside of m-my mother’s herbal s-shop. A-Are you lost?"
"I see...!" It was strange, certainly, being able to be seen by youth outside her guild-- but that wasn't to say it was unwelcomed either. Contrary to her childish appearance, she radiated the presence of one wise and worldly and appreciated the innocence behind this blonde's smile.
"I'm a little lost, but it's alright. I'm glad I ended up in a place with such beautiful flowers!"
≺ ϟ ≻ ——- Ah, de facto— his grandfather was away from the clamorous premises, on a nay strenuous meeting. “Hm. Jiji is on an urgent meetin’, i think.” Or so, he would recal upon his reminiscences. Not that it held much significance to him. The fact that this locus appeared to be confoundedly halcyon, was a scarce occurence to transpire. Truth to be said— he wouldn’t have any objections on sharing even the most simplistic conversation with the senile Dreyar, but seemingly, another ‘senile’, yet in an astral form, would get that opportunity. No speculations with him, knowing that there was nothing else to do— nothing the optimum. And her company, wasn’t as bad as he had imagined to be.
≺ ϟ ≻ ——- Thickset eyebrows would rise for nanoseconds, the moment he imprinted in his mind, her last annotation. It was like as if she was juvenile—- a child. Perhaps such characteristic subsisted within her personage. It was kind of monadical, he won’t lie. Apparently, the First Master was a complete mystery, in which, no one seemed to be able to learn much from her. Who knows— perhaps he might be overthinking, perhaps not. Soon, for one arm to distend as one digit would point at the wooden, large counter— where the usual beauteous barmaid was behind it, ready to take the accustomed orders, with nothing but having a visage filled with purity. And of course, a sterling smile.
“— You can go to Mira and ask her to make you somethin’.”
The suggestion is not entirely unreasonable yet her expression remains unchanged, no semblance of satisfaction gained from it as flushed lips parted to admit an entertaining truth.
"I've already sampled everything here..." The murmur was in fact, one the aforementioned waitress knew very well, every dessert combination having been tested and even perfected in an innocent way to pass the time. The First's adoration for sweets proved far too much a temptation to let go of now that her ability to interact with the tangible had manifested itself in her ephemeral form.
But of more importance was her need to speak what dwelled in the depths of her mind, her concerns for this generation that-- even with her confidence in her guild-- were not so easily quelled and needed another's input.
"Laxus-san, let's go out to eat." she offered (or rather, demanded) peacefully. In addition to being able to trust the Third's grandson with whisperings of phenomenal power and dilemmas, there was also a new venture that awaited-- of the delicious variety! It was unfortunate that she could not be seen by those without their guild's insignia as she could not explore the interiors of restaurants and shops without invoking fear of otherworldly spirits in those who witnessed bizarre items moving of their apparent own will.
"Can't we?" With a guide she could, at least, enter any location her heart desired. Pouting just the slightest, she hoped his lack of affairs for the day would allow them to spend a bit more time together.
"—That damn furball and pinky will pay if I ever see their ugly faces again." A growl escaped through pursed lips, canine features gritting together in an angry manner. Oh, revenge would be ever so sweet, in due time it will come.
Although her knowledge of the circumstances proved limited, they had not been entirely nonexistent-- particularly because of the immense powers and senses contained in Fairy Tail's newfound opponents. She hadn't intended to interrupt the current conflicts of her guild, but as she was quite positive she knew who this creature was referring to, she couldn't help a lapse of maturity--
-- and casually stepped on his tail.
“If this world continues to reject me, then I shall reject the world.”
Divine emancipation cannot be granted to those who have never tasted the bitterness of slavery in the elapsed years between Life and Death. Alone the outcast, bound for evermore with unbreakable chains to the pillar of his own insignificance, ardently desired the blissful exculpation from his uncommitted sins. Alone the exiled, fettered by massive lockets to the dark corner where no sun, no moon, no stars would ever glitter, sought the transcendental freedom of unattainable dreams.
And alone did she tangle herself further in the remnant threads of his darkness with the sole thought of exemption. Yet what would good be doing if there were no evil, and what would the earth look like if shadows disappeared from it? After all, shadows are cast by objects and people. Would one like to denude the earth of all in order to satisfy their own fantasy of rejoicing in the naked light? Basking in the chaste whiteness which happens to be encircled and emphasized by naught but blackness.
I am confident that they will grow stronger to lead us into the next era.
”I don’t think you understand,” a truth in itself. As apparently socially perceptive as the young woman was, it was clear that he would still have to subliminally spell out prohibition from continuing into the subject any further.
”— Life…?
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. Humans decide how their going to mess it up. "
An unstoppable record that has broken itself. "Humans are so self-important. Arrogant. I’ve watched the rise and fall of different eras. People hate and evil causes conflict, but I’m looking forward to a new age that will purify all of this.”
Extinguishing darkness was surely not the answer; however luminous her optimism, ephemeral years had been enough to rid such naivety. Rather, it was balance that was strived for, passionately maintained in fairness so that those whose requiem moved their counterparts could flourish in a beauty that cycled through generations even through the murk of crime.
Humans had the tendency to surprise. Even for one who also sought patterns and admired analysis, love for pure emotion altering all stakes proved far more gratifying than any successful prediction had. To underestimate this power was almost of greater sin than ridding the world of these simple pleasures entirely.
More than to enlighten did she endeavor to protect, tenuous attempts to seek for the heart behind foul arrogance no distraction to what the circumstances would ultimately come to. Never would she allow his reckless purification, his solution that removed progress of the past and thoughts of the future alike, through what little power still held in the warmth of her guild.
"Enough! These mistakes are made while they wear their hearts on their sleeves. It is because these people desire that they fall so low." Corruption could not exist without tender yearning, she knew it to be true. Desperation and isolation drew those with even the purest of intentions to darkness while children did anything for acceptance.
"But there are also those who can lead these people back to their proper path. Surely even you can understand the duality of human nature."
Eliminating souls whose lives on this earth were already so fleeting; it was tragic, tactless, and unforgivable. Such a merciless attitude could be given only to things viewed as parasites.
"If this life is what they make of it, then you haven't the slightest right to take it away." Whether though a single murder or an entire massacre, it was now he who stood as the most arrogant of them all.
{/ BOTHERS YOU }
{ /THROWS YOU INTO THE OCEAN }
"First Master!" She gasped. Surprised of the visit and moreover on the interest of the subject. It’s been a while since the celestial mage saw the embodiment of the Founder. Even Plue exclaimed the three repeated words that he can only manage to blurt. Respectfully, Lucy stood up in attention to give a proper greeting. "I—it’s been a while."Ahhh! What should be done? It’s her first time to have a one on one talk with the very first person who built the guild. Even she is unsure of what to do and how to act. Truly she is cute but that one in front of her is Mavis. The Mavis. Being the one who can be categorize as the late comer as a member; Lucy knows not that of lots about her. "We were just talking about a friend."She added upon remembering the question asked.
Formality truly unnecessary but appreciated nonetheless, one hand lifted delicately to wave a modest hello. The exclamation of the lesser spirit also served as a satisfactory greeting, Mavis jubilant at his notice. Whether she could be seen as a fellow heavenly body or merely felt as a radiance, she smiled warmly at them both.
"It has! Not since the Magic Games, I think." Nodding to herself in mental confirmation, she seated herself by the river as they moved passed acknowledgments. There hadn't been any dire need for an answer to the question asked previously, but she still responded in kind. "Oh, a friend? I see!"
Allowing the gentle breezes to calm the atmosphere, the founder hummed before trailing off. "I'm so glad to see everyone getting along... how are you liking Fairy Tail, Lucy-san?"

≺ ϟ ≻ ——- Had he to avow, he had grew somewhat accustomed to her appearance, yet, abruptly was something that he had yet to adapt. Alas, no malpractice was provoked. After all, she wasn’t just a somebody— she was the one who founded the place that he considers as his own home. And this was the causation for the virile lineaments of his visage, to be set on further relaxion, as he took the liberty to approximate her subsistence and find a seat to set his structure in relaxation to. Might he wasn’t in need of much company, but exemptions could be allowed. Retaking the quandam position, obsure apricot optics, fixated upon the request board—- the one where the requests are mostly for regular mages.
“— Indeed, it’s rather infrequent, yet i have no complaints.” Considering the fact that he might end up having a headache as customarily. Nonetheless, her upcoming annotation reflected nothing but verity at its eminence. The artificial Dragon Slayer happened to be one of those that the tasks requested, would be piled. No grievances to be made.. not much, at least. But everything had took a diurnal routine, in which, he was satisfied with it.
“—- For now, i have no plans. Tomorrow, seemingly— i’ll have to leave for another S-class mission.”
“—- Quite sudden was your appearance. Any particular reason?” Sharing a lone confabulation with her, would cause no harm, right?
The current state of the guild earned no protests on his behalf, a lighthearted giggle returning at that casual comment. It was true enough that the peace was well-deserved, no qualms existing with a serene atmosphere that bode well. Only if it overwelcomed its stay would concern rise and a dilemma be given fruition.
In contrast, questioning her motives was a far more natural occurrence. Despite her inner musings wishing not to need any explanation for her appearance, understanding for why it had been inquired was easily reached.
"I had hoped to talk with the Third..." she admitted, several subjects in mind needing clandestine elaboration. With a wistful sigh, she gradually shuffled in the artificial dragon slayer's direction, tone conveying a rather childlike whine as she thoroughly bestowed her reasons.
"He's not around, even though I thought he would be..." Although she had not placed her all into calculating a true prediction of the master's location, the lack of intuition on her part still disappointed. Head hung low, spurious tears were not given a chance to fall before the growl of her stomach would serve to distract.
"... and now I'm hungry." What woe.
"Hm….."
Whatever pestilence had the nerve to bequeath this mongrel of the hope of anything substantial or material would have undertaken a devastating misdeed, had it not achieved just that: hope. Hope, which could be cleansed and washed away as easily as the warmest flecks of blood’s seed. Hope, tantamount to defeat.
— Hopes…
Ah… indeed, it would suffer more now.
This creature was the consummation of a most unholy, abominable union. A union founded upon principles of possessive mania, blinded misconduct, of rebellion and sin incarnate. It was every vice that human nature compelled into the coexistent brackets of forbidden yet temptation. A divine hand scooped around the nothingness brittle smearing a touch that was laced with a leathery, eerie chill; deathly, clammy tendrils exploring upon mere air.
"I’ve lived century, after century for awhile now. I believe in the power of the imagination to remake the world, to release the truth within us, to hold back the night, to transcend death, to charm motorways, to ingratiate ourselves with birds, to enlist the confidences of madmen."
The mage expressed with an unpredictably jubilant, anxious arch of its eyelids into distressing crescents that depicting an unearthly smile. Within it was a childlike lack of realisation into the wrong it was performing, into all of its sinister, insipid detachments from the normality of its age and species.
“Listen. I’m not the bad guy.—- How many times have people repeated the same mistakes of the past? And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history—money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery—the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.”
If only the future could be salvaged by so simple a label. Darkness in men did not fade overnight, did not cease to ravage or blind merely from physical silencing. Murder of opposing kings made not a country proper. War consuming expanding lands had proven such time and time again, burned into every witness trauma that spoiled the light of living.
"Be that as it may, they have continued to endure in this world."
Death was no stranger, as her current form emphasized. With it came the memory of its miseries fathomable only to those who could empathize with loss. But prevention of apocalyptic measures proved innate to all but few. There still thrived blood, sweat and tears worth exhausting. Where arbitrary violence was repugnant, battles conducted under the aegis of others invigorated. Strength of heart could flourish to outmatch even the unknown powers that had poisoned and corrupted.
"I choose to believe in the passions of this youth wholeheartedly."
Immortality had brought isolation, a desensitization to splendors and massacres both. Eradication of those undeserving was expedient and inequitable. Humanity's redemption-- she longed for it.
"They will accept no judgement but their own. The paths they carve for themselves-- you cannot guarantee mistake." Patterns, data, analysis; fundamentals even she embraced could not be applied. "The future is theirs! I am confident that they will grow stronger to lead us into the next era. And if I must, I will manifest the miracles they call for."
And so would she remain an untouchable angel that conversed even with sins made tangible. Sadness fluttered behind lashes as the definition of man she adored altered before her eyes, slender digits intertwined and brought up to inquiring lips almost as if in prayer. It was possible... he did not need to be a villain to be vanquished. She wished to place faith in that, however naive.
"The value of life... surely loneliness has not made you forget?"
Five flowers have bloomed!
{ ✿ } Shiemi was busy planting flowers when she suddenly heard footsteps. She looked up to see someone trampling her tulips. "A-Ah… G-Gomen… b-but you’re s-stepping on m-my flowers."
While stepping on the flowers of the young blonde had been entirely accidental, it was the fact she could be seen doing so that had primarily startled the mage. Stunned, her petite bare feet bounced backwards instinctively.
"-- I'm sorry!"
How peculiar! Could it be that the force that had dropped her into another world entirely had also simultaneously made her able to be seen by all who inhabited it?
"Do-- do you mind telling me where this is?"
I can't hear your voice and can't see your appearance. But I know. You're over there, aren't you Mavis?
It is in his nature almost, one whom embodies all negativity.
Parting foliage blanketing stone paths held by wayward spirits, transcended also by essences summoned by a kindle stepping. Resides steep ‘pon ridges of stone etched pleasantry, woven unto wooden beauty that truly built magnificent scenes. Oriental graces coiling boundless canvases, whence legends themselves painted upon through the warp and weft of natures own will. Shifting tides blessing conjuring that puckered skywards with another pristine presence in weight, ushering so to meet this serene. Delightful queries spoken so whence flush lips greeted gracious mannerisms, accordance with an amusing glint between lupine sights.
Was mockery really a viable option for one who, alongside her reckless blundering moments ago, according to his memory of appearances also lay indebted to him for sparing her life so shamelessly? He didn’t estimate that to be so, but neither was she exactly… whole. It was a presentation of character that was so completely neutralised, so abandoned from his former behaviour of sparing the meek and disabled from their suffering. The credentials of a knight had disappeared, comparable to the sunlight cleansed away from this dimension, and within a shroud of penitence the fettered other looked onward.
Why..
Why.. Why..
Why..
”I know you’re here…
What do you want.”
Aggression would not compel her to falter, gaze strengthened in intensity as the thoughtless demand lingered until it all but faded. A gentle intake of breath relayed an answer before it was voiced, swift and sudden breezes toying with blonde locks but not once physically bounding her figure.
"I came to understand something."
A confirmation was needed in order for this fragile an existence to carry out its greatest potentials. Attempting to abate the hostility that fluctuated within his character could ultimately liken to a mere means of stalling, but hesitation did not stun her intentions. She had long accepted that a debate may prove fruitless, so it was with a serene demeanor that she approached to utilize what information could be drawn. Years of inactivity had equated to shackles on not only her knowledge, but the freedom of the guild she adored, freed now only due to their emotions made physically mighty. For their sake, she did not allow acquaintanceships to mislead her.
Seven years ago, I was close to you.
But forgiveness did not come so cheap. The tainting of the sacred island was what had stirred her into a life nearly reborn. A camaraderie so beautiful could bring about miracles against even the darkest of kings and powers; he had witnessed that for himself, yet this refusal to see past hatred still persisted.
"... what do you intend to do with yourself?"
