Hi! You can call me Fly. I thought I should introduce myself and lay out my intentions and some ground-rules for my page. I'm 31f / EST and have been roleplaying on and off since I was a preteen, honestly. It's been a hot minute since I've been active, but writing is just one of those things, isn't it?

That said, etomes is a multi muse, 25+, semi to full lit, semi selective blog. I am low / sporadic activity / ghost friendly. If you go AWOL I'll be here with open arms. We're all adults and real life takes precedence. My aim is to have fun, create, world build, and basically nerd out with hc's, playlists, mood boards etc. etc.

My preferences when writing ships are fxm / fxf, although this is a safe space for the entire lbgt+ community. I'm happy to write female / male roles and have done both in the past.

Comfortable with smut or fade, although I should preface- this isn't a smut for smut's sake kind of blog. I wouldn't say I'm entirely fluff either, as I'm more of an angsty, broody will they won't they / on and off / type of gal.

Open to fandoms / canon so long as it makes sense- although I would prefer oc x oc.

I have a tendency to match word counts, and am open to long or short form - so long as the writing is legible and thoughtful.

While my intention is for the bulk of this blog to be literary [ third person / past tense ] I do also enjoy bridging the gaps with ic texting / asks & answers etc as I find they help further flesh out our characters little isms, expand the worlds, and offer more inspiration, especially when you don't have the bandwidth.

Tumblr is my home. I've used other servers like discord in the past, but I'm a true young millennial / indie sleaze / Tumblr girly at heart. If I find a good pairing, I could be swayed but I'd like to try to stick to my roots. I enjoy what the platform brings to the table in terms of organization and world building anyhow.

Lines in the sand are 25+ / no full send dead dove but open to darker themes / no godmodding / no pressuring replies or ships, but that should go without saying I'd hope. I really enjoy geeking out over our muses and plots, so please don't be shy!! I'd love to hear your ideas and my inbox is always open.

Dark eyes pored over rows and rows of red velvet. Didn't anyone have a sense of pride anymore? He mused to himself. Jeans and a crew neck tee, how titillating. Gone were the days you'd arrive in evening wear, but could one not manage a button-down? Were their thumbs non-opposable? Were we regressing so swiftly? Quite the tragedy. Chip still mustered a polite nod for the men, and a perfunctory twinge of a smile for the women that caught his gaze. As was tradition, he skimmed through the glossy pages of his Playbill, wondering if there were any actors of substance or at the very least a name that he could recognize. . . " when was the last time I saw you? " The voice took him off guard, and Chip sat up in his seat, adjusting the cuff of his sport coat. Rosaria - his.. business associate of sorts. The relief manifested in a quick clear of his throat. She was far cry from the worst familiar face he could've stumbled into. " Rosaaaria, " he began in a low and drawn out inflection. " Ever the patron of the Arts, aren't you? " A flash of teeth was sent her way, one very much meant to stress his double entendre. Followed naturally was a chuckle that congratulated his own cleverness. " Well. It's always a pleasure. " He shifted his weight toward her, scanning the crowd for reasons beyond the latest... fashions. It had been about a month since Chip had sought her services. He was a busy man after all, and it was best to pace yourself in the matters of moonlighting. So far, there were no red flags to account for. Her work was efficient, her connections were clean. He'd have to consider if their run-ins were purely coincidental, but if she played her cards right, she could see a decent stream of cashflow coming her way. Sufficient enough, by her standards he assumed. " So ... you're a fan of Fitzgerald? " he inquired, eager to test her knowledge of the play. Did she actually enjoy the show? Was she hunting him down for another job? Was she the one auditing him? Chip thought he'd settled for a night of light reading, so to speak - something to get him out of his apartment and perhaps elicit a chuckle or two - but it seemed the evening was shaping up to be something far more intriguing.

where albuquerque had gunshots, kraemer had birdsongs. crossing over texas, rosaria has found herself stranded in louisiana where the most chatter comes from the town chapel. she might as well have walked into a cage, sharing a space with conservative white people who must be due to expire in the next decade or two; hopefully, by then, she would have already clawed her way up north.

here, at least, the larks sing sweetly. lost in the belly of the beast as well is sidonie, a woman of her similar stature but purer eyes. rosaria's survival instincts told her to stick with the person most likely to suffer the same prejudices from others, though she knew she would have managed just fine with her unforgiving hands. no half measures, she always tells herself, just like the old man used to tell her. no half measures.

but there's a lot to learn at the bayou, the word, for one, and all that it nurtures. there is no better person to ask when she has questions about an animal call. she even prefers sidonie over the local doctor.

“ you're a taxidermist, right? i've seen your stitchwork. do you think you can stitch me up? ” the wound on her arm is small, at most deserving of five or six stitches. rosaria would've wrapped it up and allowed it to fester or heal, whichever it preferred, but with sidonie around and boredom nagging daily, she decides it is worth the bother.

" You are a beacon for the broken, sha chere, " Mawmaw cooed, an endearment that cast a shadow heavier than Sidonie could comprehend at the time. Little Sidonie Arceneaux sat on the edge of the dock, her knees bruised and battered from a morning of roughhousing with her big brother. In an unusually bold fashion, a small, plump sparrow hobbled its way right into young Sidonie's palm. Its chest heaved with a quick pulse, and just under its wing revealed a muddy dark maroon, staining its plumage. " But the shad draws the cottonmouths as much as the crabs, girl. We have to keep our wits about us. " The familiar scent of rosemary and vinegar wafted over little Sid's shoulders. The wise old matriarch took the wounded bird, and with it, returned to camp . . . .

The sun dappled its way through the thick hanging moss, promising another freckle or two for her shoulders. A foreign cadence pierced through the heat's wavy distortion of the gangway's planks. Sidonie squinted into the haze, then briefly back to her skiff. The cage slapped into the murk with a splash, a harvest she'd later revisit. Her apron served as the perfect place to wipe the grime from her paws. She took Rosaria's arm without a second thought and gave it a thorough inspection. The cut was small but deep - almost intentional. " Allons, let's get you inside before the flies find it. " Safe in the shaded camp, Sidonie cleaned her hands and prepped her kit. " Mais la, where'd you manage this one? " she asked, the heat of the wound already subsiding somehow under her touch. The air around Rosaria still hung with a certain mystery. She was an outsider, no doubt, and that was how Sidonie explained away any nagging unrest. There was no venom she could detect, just a sense that the girl needed some kind of safe haven. With the addition of some beeswax and a witch-hazel concoction, the tissue already looked a little less angry. " You might want to look away, " she warned, looking up through her brow with a preemptive kind of guilt. " This won't feel pretty. "

And who needed the stress of a desk job or a competitive social media following when you had the fresh marsh air and the hum of your skiff to keep you company?

Chip was on the same trajectory as the three Christopher Cabot Saltonstall's that came before him. Sure, some would call it a silver spoon - but this was no handout.
