As more and more people are being forced to switch to Windows 11, Microsoft's most AI-malware-ridden OS yet, I've been putting together articles and links for how to undo the damage and save your battery, your RAM, your disk space, your privacy, and your sanity from this bullshit.
FIRST:
The easiest way to get rid of the majority of the bullshit that Windows is forcing on us, as of October 2025, is this one-stop-one-click debloat solution from a modern day hero:
A simple, lightweight PowerShell script to remove pre-installed apps, disable telemetry, as well as perform various other changes to customi
It's very easy, even if you're not tech savvy or get scared of pop up windows saying "ARE YOU SURE?" Yes, you are sure, I promise. This program takes maybe two minutes and will save you SO MUCH pain, time, and money (and exploitation).
Now that you've done that, here's the cleanup, to catch the little shit that the debloat might have missed (most of this will already be done by debloat, but hey, it's good to double check).
Microsoft wants to put AI everywhere on your PC, but you can take back control.
Even just reading about some of these features makes me angry. Fucking Copilot and "Discover" AI scrapers are in Notepad. NOTEPAD. And then there's this uncanny valley garbage:
No uncanny valley video calls for me, thanks! (Also, what else is it doing while it scans your face and listens to your calls? What else, microsoft? Because there was a lot of memory being assigned to this program for a simple "smooths your skin" add on).
Tired of Microsoft pushing ads throughout Windows 11? Here are the settings you can tweak to turn them off and reclaim some privacy.
The truly insane number of places they have stuck ads on your own home computer is sickening. Become Unmarketable.
Bonus:
Some background programs you probably don't need that are taking up space and how to remove them (Microsoft forums, 2024)
Your Samsung Galaxy Phone comes with 22 apps you don't need (Android Police, 2025)
How to disable the AI in firefox (still the only browser that lets you do this permanently) (Windows Report, 2025)
@itsyaraz here's your reminder bestie
I just did the Win11Debloat via the traditional method, and it took... not even five minutes. With a disclaimer that I am tech literate but not tech savvy (that is, i can muddle my way through technical stuff like this with help from tutorials from people who know their shit; I cannot do it on my own because i don't have that level of knowledge or understanding) – here's the process, in case you're worried and want to see it in action:
A quick aside first: Something I probably (definitely?) should have done before I started was create a system restore point. Doing this means you can restore your system to what it was before you started mucking around with it, so it's a good habit to get into if you're going to do anything like this. Also a good idea to create a system restore point before running windows updates these days.
As another aside: You will also need admin access. So if you're using someone else's machine (e.g., it's shared or it's a work/school-issued one) and you don't have administrator access, you can't run this. You might be able to speak to whoever does hold the administrator access about running it though. If this is your machine that you own, you're probably fine.
Okay. Asides over. Go to the latest version of the debloater and download the .zip file:
Extract the file contents, then double-click on the file that says "run":
You'll probably get the aforementioned "ARE YOU SURE?" popup. It's fine. Just hit "run" again.
This will open PowerShell. Do not be afraid. There are some instructions on the screen:
I chose to manually select what changes to make because I was a little anxious about just letting something I didn't quite understand have free rein over my machine, so I typed in 2 and then hit enter. This brings up the next lot of text:
Same process applies – type the number or letter corresponding to what you want to do and hit enter. I chose 1 (only remove the default selection of apps) for my actual installation, but for this example I tried 3 (Manually select which apps to remove), which brings up this box:
So if you're worried about removing something you actually use, you can scroll through and check or uncheck the relevant boxes.
It then asks you more questions about what you want to keep or remove. Just carry on answering and let the script guide you through the rest of the process. Here's a YouTube video tutorial – it's a year old so doesn't show you how to do the most recent version of Win11Debloat, but it at least shows the process in action:
If you don't like the results once you're done, go ahead and recover your system via your system restore point:
Learn how to use System Restore in Windows.
That's it. Be free and debloat your shit 👍
Very awesome and telling how literally - and I do mean literally - every single post I've seen on all social media I'm on talking about some new feature on all platforms ever, not just the social media ones, are saying "they added this thing, didn't tell you about it and it's making your entire shit worse. It's usually an AI thing, but it might just be good old fashioned poor programming because apparently nobody actually knows how to code anymore, especially not the tech companies, they just think they do, and it's on by default, which they also failed to mention, so here's how to turn it off. I discovered this by accident or frantic searching in several different submenus before finding the right one btw." Nuke silicon valley rn I'm so serious.
Anyway here are all the ones I've been made aware of in the past two days alone.
Discord CEO Jason Citron, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella from the bottom of my heart PLEASE go fuck yourselves and stop shoving this bullshit down our throats without stopping to ask if we want it and/or check if it even fucking works
so anyway i came across this bsky post sure would be a shame if people did exactly that, wink wink and such :3
