Vedic / Sidereal astrology - and why I use it.

Hey guys. I thought about writing this long ahh post about Vedic and Sidereal astrology for you. So, technically I'm going to be talking about: -what it is? -why is it different from Tropical astrology? and -why I use it.

I'm not going to methodically answer each question but, i'm going to be exploring the topic with those questions in mind. but, first, just so you know, Vedic and Sidereal astrology are the same, they just have different names. I'm going to call it "Sidereal" from now on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we already know, Astrology originated in the Babylonian times. Back then, farm people used it for farming and for predicting good crops the following years. Then, the greeks developed it as a season-based system, where the first day of Aries would fall on the same date every year. On the spring equinox, not in the positions of the stars.

Even though Sidereal (Hinduism, India) was developed around the same time, this one has always considered the fixed stars, making it also consider the fact that the universe is always expanding, and it shows that is virtually impossible for people in the present days carry the same sun sign as if they did more than 3,000 years ago. So, nowadays, the spring equinox doesn't necessarily fall on Aries anymore but, on Pisces. And the physical reason is that, as the universe expands, planets take longer and longer to do the whole lap around earth. So, while our calendar dates fall on the same days every year, the planets might not have arrived to that astronomical point yet.

In the end, most Aries are actually Pisces, most Taurus are actually Aries, most Gemini actually Taurus and so on. Just notice that I say "most", because there are some times (by the end of their dates) where the person who's a late-Aries in tropical might be an early-Aries in Sidereal, because the sun finally caught up in the same constellation. Pisces Sun: these sun signs have a bad reputation but they actually are the signs who understand all the other signs, if this sun is healed they would really know how to treat every other sign. I typically see a pisces sun getting along with scorpios because scorpios know they won't hurt them.

Aries Mercury: these guys are fast thinkers, they will be very funny and wit, come up with the funniest jokes or the most clever ideas.

Libra Sun: we already know that libra suns are indecisive but what some people don't know is that this indecisiveness is what breaks their heart, if only they could follow their heart and take a front on their beliefs, they'll see that they will feel the most satisfied in life.

Virgo Mercury: virgo mercuries don't like / are scared of some of their thoughts. Unhealed ones are running too fast to a conclusion and that sends them in a loop of confusion; You guys need to know that your thoughts don't represent who you are, thoughts can be collective and people out there have crazy thoughts, ground yourself, know yourself and you'll see that you're not your thoughts.

Aries Mars: your independence makes you dive head on to things so fast that you can find yourself in a predicament, trapped in your own problems, ones that you created for not being patient, BUT something so precious about this energy is that you ALWAYS come out from them. It's a talent, you jump to situations to come out wiser and healthier and you like the feeling of victory afterwards but you have no moment of peace. So, you decide: You admit you put yourself in those situations and keep doing it OR you move slower and avoid so much drama.

Leo Jupiter or Jupiter in the 5th house: These people might take a time of introspection in their youth. Some solitude before they start exploring their talents. You might also take some time before going to college because you're so talented that you don't know what is it that you want to do with your life. Once you decide and are confident on what you like, you'll submerge deeply in the honing of your talents, becoming one of the most capable people in your field.

Aries in the 4th house: As a child you might've been a very talented person, you were very extroverted and free-spirited, in your mind you felt like there was no limit to what you could create, and there actually wasn't. As you grow up you need to develop a more feminine side (not talking about gender roles, just energy), a side that is more receptive, less action-driven. You might needed to learn to be more fair towards others. When balancing these energies you become a healer, maybe a healer of your family members or your inner child.

Jupiter in Libra or Jupiter in the 7th house: these people KNOW how to treat / work with other people, sometimes so much so that they would carry burdens that aren't theirs. They're incredible hard workers and have a nick for perfecting things, for making them more practical+aesthetic. Sometimes is hard for them to take decisions because they feel unable to see what the future holds, what they don't know is that this is exactly how it's supposed to be, in order for them to remain present and work in the now. Incredible people working under pressure.

Jupiter in Capricorn: these people can't relax, they feel like they always have to be doing something. They are the ones shaking the legs while reading or when seating, it's like in their minds they are feeling the pressure of time. The know many things, inspiration comes to them quickly. Their inner guide is an old sold, giving the best advices to people. They're resilient, strong in stamina, they keep themselves going where others would abandon because they know their efforts will pay off. Their thing is the ears, they can be incredibly intuitive or prone to music, or both, something about their ears is always important.

Mars in Aquarius: these people are usually the most content, they feel satisfied with how they approach life, somehow they have an understanding of time that no one else does, they move at a appropriate pace, they follow their heart, their intuition. They celebrate with friends, love working together, these people have a very flowing drive.

Here are my thoughts about someone with Aquarius sun, Libra moon & Sagittarius venus:

(I'm going to be very basic because the house the signs are in are very important and might add different nuances to the interpretation)

Aquarius sun with Libra moon is such a good combination because of the air energy, it means there's a good connection between your heart (Moon) and your soul (Sun).

On one side you might be very diplomatic and fair and on the other side you're humanitarian and logical (very airy), depending on your mercury, your communication skills can become your greatest asset, with your Venus in Sag linking to your moon in Libra (the ruler of Venus), you feel nurtured when having philosophic conversations or when traveling/discovering new things.

You might be argumentative but that's good. You might feel bad when you argue but I'd love that you understand that you're meant to do it, you have big Air energy and your ideas are very valuable, specially when it comes to defending any cause you feel right. Please, speak your mind.

Now, about the connection between this person and someone who has Gemini sun, Sagittarius moon & Cancer venus:

Gemini sun + Libra sun are a great match, they can have great conversations together and could go a long way if they're willing to solve any issue by taking it serious. They have great communication skills together.

Sidereal Pisces & Manipulation

The manipulation that comes as the wound of sidereal Pisces is so hard for me to articulate. It’s so subtle that if you are not attuned to your own body when you will not notice it. And if you do not trust your body & rely on other’s validation? You’ll never catch it.

Sidereal Pisces is like when someone is showing you that something is wrong in their body language, knowing something is indeed wrong because its a repeated pattern of behavior and because your body sends off alarm bells… but you ask what’s wrong and they say nothing!

You say ok, are you sure it’s not X? And they assure you it’s definitely not anything & you’re making it up, leave it alone! And they’re sorry you felt that way but it’s simply just not true. Then Virgo: Actually you misunderstood my intentions which you couldn’t possibly know!

Then you find out later that you were right the entire time. They lied to you by not telling the truth. They lied by saying your feelings about their true intentions were wrong when they were indeed right. And they lie because the truth requires they acknowledge THEIR body.

And they don’t WANT to acknowledge their body. It would mean confronting the very real danger and harm they have experienced and continue to subject others to by ignoring it. What a concept! But once you know that is what is happening? You can choose to disengage.

Unfortunately no matter how many alarm bells go off in YOUR body, you cannot force anyone to acknowledge a truth they are not ready to face. You can’t make them feel their feelings and you can’t make them protect themselves.

But you can protect you by BELIEVING YOURSELF.

It doesn’t matter if the other person validates that something is wrong. Trust your body when it tells you that it is. Something I talked about w/ @MxMercuri is that your body remembers what rejection, alienation, and being lied to feels like even if it sounds different now.

People will always come up with new ways to communicate to you rejection, new ways to lie to you or avoid saying the truth. But your body remembers what that feels like and recognizes it regardless of language used and changed circumstances. Trust your feelings as real truth.

Idk why, but it makes me think of how southerners will say “God bless your little heart.” Sounds like a compliment or endearment but really means “That is a dumb decision you made.” If you focused on just what they said, not how it makes you feel, you miss what they really mean.

And if you question what they meant then they can and will say they intended it as an endearment when they really didn’t to avoid confrontation. And what they didn’t say: “That’s a dumb decision you just made.” Is still the point. But it’s easy to deny that when you never say what you really mean. And are always vague.

And if you take their words at face value and numb/ignore/deny your body then you suddenly think you made a friend when you didn’t. That is why it is so hard to catch. You can’t prove people meant one thing when they said another, you can’t prove their feelings are otherwise. You can only believe your own feelings when they tell you something is off.

Anyway. Sidereal Pisces is about discernment.

Sun in Gemini in the 12th house might be a little self-conscious about their ideas and their expression, they might feel that they express themselves freer when they are alone or even when they are drunk/high (if that's your thing).

The 12th house rules the hidden stuff, in our subconscious or simply secrets, having sun here might mean that you thrive in the endeavors of finding out who you are, in solitude, your vitality and your "ego" will be hidden under the rubble until you dedicate yourself to find it.

Even though your 11th house is ruled by Gemini, the planets are ruled by Cancer, the 11th house there means your approach to relationships (Venus) and your responsibilities (Saturn) might be directed to friends, community and Aquarius topics. With Gemini ruling the 11th house, you might be very vocal or social butterfly-ish when surrounded by other people, which is fitting for a Leo rising due to the attention they tend to get. The 4th, 8th and 12th houses placements, are feelings, hard to perform, hard to talk, hard to grab.

You just feel them.

How can you show a feeling in its core? Feeling. It.

Hey!, Having planets in the 12th house is somewhat complicated BUT that doesn’t necessarily mean they are harder than others; They are complicated because for you to understand them and use them, they most likely require privacy or another state of mind, I will explain now:

The 12th house breaks the physical realms and turns everything into abstract energy, such as ideas, dreams, spirituality, esoterism, and others.

It makes great for artists and people who like to take care of others since the 12th house also rules the asylums and hospitals. I DO NOT suggest doing drugs nor alcohol but since the 12th house is the house of unconsciousness and -as I said- it rules different states of mind, these planets work “as they should” when high or drunk, the same as in privacy, by your own.

It doesn't necessarily affect your Leo rising, actually, it helps you to portrait your energy the same way you feel it. Having the same sun and rising sing it is always a benefit.

Knowing that, I think the greatest way to use those placements would be meditating a lot and having a space for your own to recharge the energy.

Hiii, even tho it's really hard to just assume who would be the perfect match for you, I really loved your placements and as soon as I saw your chart I could see that with your Taurus Moon and Sun you most likely do something related with arts, for a living (or would want to), Am I right?

Look, I have a friend with almost the same placements you do, she is married now with a Libra; Her husband is carrying most of the economic part of their relationship, because she is starting her life as an artist, meaning she is a freelancer for now and is not earning enough.

The reason I'm telling you this, it's because, even tho' it can be hard to find these things (as hard as finding a specific type of person), you should go for someone who supports your dreams -emotionally or economically- (asuming you want to be an artist).

Even if you don't want to be an artist, with you Taurus moon you may want to feel love through materialistic matters, so it wouldn't really matter the signs, it would just matter if this person puts the same passion you put on your things.

Look, Neptune is the ruler of Pisces, Pisces is abstract, spiritual, magical, Love for the world + having a "hard" aspect with Mercury (which is the ruler of it's opposite sign Virgo) makes communication quite 'abstract/magical'; It is difficult because it would feel like communicating with poems, art or metaphors (typical characteristics of Neptune) which typically people don't understand.

I could also makes you lie out of nothing, just because you rather not saying the truth thinking that "no one would understand".

It can make you a little distracted and daydream a little bit too much as well...

But not everything here is wrong, this aspect helps you to see and feel world's pain (which said in those words is not quite comforting lol), it makes you compassionate with others and yourself, I gives yourself a great sense of imagination and I could make it easier for you to develop and understand life around music or art in general.

People with Aries venus challenge other people to see how much they are worth; Most venus in Aries tend to test your bravery by arguing or fighting, they need to see if they have someone strong to count on.

Saturn is where you become a capricorn, the house where it is, is what makes you serious.

Pluto in the 2nd is literally having almost any object broken. Like phones, chargers, pencils, headphones, toys.

Saturn day, this day is the day to be relaxed, in some religions and cultures this day is the day God would’ve take to rest. This is Sun-day (and Uranus) it’s the day where our energies are at their highest, here is where signs collaborate together to make great plans (or not).
