My hair in braids over the years ~
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Kenya. I'm a 14 year old girl living in ottawa, Ca, from Belgium. I am an interesting mix of Dutch, Congolese, and Cape Verdian. My natural hair textures varies from 4B -3C. As a younger child, I always wore my hair in braided hairstyles with extensions. However, when I was about 7, I got my first texturizer and let it grow out. Then, when I reached my 13th birthday, I had my step mother under process my hair with texturizer, which ended up as a texlax treatment. A few days before my 14th birthday, we intended on touching up my roots, but she overlaped the relaxer on parts of already processed hair and left it way too long. Of course, it ended up looking a mess, left my hair very brittle, and made me realize that I wanted to truly have natural hair. I am now on a journey to HEALTHY natural hair and have been for 8 months as of today.
