Why did all of us collectively agree C!technoblade was aroace ???

I believe cc!Techno wasn’t a fan of being shipped with his friends so people thought “oh the character’s aroace”. Most likely a mix of different things.

Some people are operating off of “only aroace people could ever possibly dislike flirting, clearly wanting to be in a relationship is the normal thing to do and since he isn’t into that then he must be aroace bc there’s no other possible reason for him to have this kind of preference”, which is a bit weird and ironic since amatonormativity has some pretty deep ties in discrimination against aro/ace people.

Some people are aro/ace themselves, whose reasoning is more along the lines of “I really like this character and I want him to reflect an important part of my identity, especially because one of his most important relationships is a platonic one which shows how bonds other than romantic relationships can be just as valuable and aren’t inherently inferior”, nothing wrong with that one (<— meant to be /genuine, I’m not being sarcastic there).

Others just said “oh we’re doing this now cool” and adopted the headcanon as well. Maybe to add more representation, maybe just because, idk. These are all broad categories, lots of people fall in between or in multiple.

Also there’s a widespread “aroace = robot” stereotype, some people might’ve been influenced by that due to his more monotone voice and general wit.

Four of my personal dream smp unpopular opinions:

c!Niki is way more dog coded than cat coded. I have nothing against people who like associating her with cats but taking into account her personality and lore, dog just fits way better. Her loyalty, especially.

Early camarvan c!Wilbur was even more of a capitalist than Las Nevadas c!Quackity. And for some reason nobody talks about it.

I do not think c!Niki burning down the L’mantree was the most important part of her life. Sometimes it feels like people think that one event is all there is to her. Cool scene but Jesus Christ you guys do realize she has more lore than that right.

Honestly not a fan of zombie c!Wilbur, feels like it takes away a lot from his story. It really does change the point, when you make the character that feels like they’re an irredeemable monster a literal monster instead of an achingly self destructive man.

What Niki ships/duos do you think needs more love in the fandom?

Niki has so many fun and interesting dynamics and interactions with so many characters, she touches nearly every storyline throughout the entire dsmp run... this means the are a lot of interesting groups and ships she could be a part of...

It's interesting to hear what everyone else thinks of each one...

Platonic duos/groups: octopus duo, TEN, and coconut duo. Plus whatever the duo names are for c!Niki + c!Ranboo and c!Niki + HBomb.

I’m trying to figure out c!Niki’s enneagram and so far it’s been very difficult. Here’s what I have so far:

e1: …Maybe? I think she does care a lot about being “good”, but she’s not really self critical regarding moral standards nor is she perfectionistic in any way.

e2: Could be. She’s a very generous person that does try to help others, and there is that feeling of being taken for granted for the care she gives others.

e3: Absolutely not. She was very content with her life before everything turned for the worse, she’s not ambitious in the slightest and doesn’t care about her image at all.

e4: She could be this one. Not sure about it though. She does care about being authentic, she does feel like an outsider. But she doesn’t really fear not being unique.

e5: Highly doubt it. I don’t think most enneagram 5 would choose to tell c!Schlatt to starve the way she did. They’d prefer to think about it first. She’s not withdrawn enough.

e6: This one’s more likely. She’s very community oriented, very loyal, cares about being supported. The main problem is that e6 disintegrates to e3, and e3 is the type that least resembles her at any point of her story by a huge margin.

e7: Could be. It fits with her backstory’s motivation to leave her former town, to find a new beginning. Enneagram 7s tend to try to avoid pain, but I think she kind of wallows in hers.

e8: Unlikely, but possible? She does care about not being controlled by others. She also doesn’t have that “presence” that e8 usually have. She gets ignored and talked over constantly, which is uncharacteristic for an e8.

e9: Maybe. She did kind of shove down her own bitter feelings about being overlooked, and she does have that e9 anger. She avoids conflict when she can, but she’s not afraid of it really.

cniki is not an emotionally intelligent character it is so odd to me when people write her that way. she is very outspoken about her feelings and defensive of others so maybe that’s where it comes from but soo many times are her feelings misplaced . crazy crazy crazy does anyone remember. gosh we used to live in a world with crainduo people !!!!

If you can think of anything to add on or believe that I should remove anything, please tell me! I need some second opinions from fellow c!Niki fans.

This is mainly stuff that can be proved through c!Niki’s actual lore, rather than headcanons that are not heavily based on canon (not that those headcanons are wrong or anything…that’s just not what I’m looking for here). Some of them are “interpretations” but they are interpretations that have a solid basis in fact.

Feel free to ask questions. I can elaborate on them if needed.

c!Wilbur with GAD definitely makes sense, I can see it and I actually almost added it. I settled on not putting it in because his neuroticism seems to be more intense and almost always highly related to his fears of abandonment (that of which I traced to him having BPD), rather than it being more persistently generalized. But yeah, there’s a lot of overlap between the two and I’m pretty sure many people with BPD also have GAD? But don’t quote me on that. Actually thinking about it more…I might put GAD too…idk I have to think it over more.

ADHD for c!Wilbur I can also see. I need to do more research though I will come back to that later. Bipolar also. I think one of the main differences between BPD and bipolar disorder is the duration of the mood cycles (again don’t quote me!!). I don’t think we see him long enough to tell for sure, but his mood swings seem to go and come rapidly. Again, this is one I’ll have to go look into more.

I unfortunately don’t know enough about OCD to disprove or prove this. I’d like to think I know more than most but it’s not enough for me to feel comfortable saying anything. I’d be curious why you think he has OCD though, if you’re willing to share I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts more on that.

I put anorexia rather than AFRID because of how he denied himself food during pogtopia/after revival because he “didn’t deserve it”, so it’s more based on his internal self worth issues rather than sensory issues or from fear of consequences like choking.

But I can’t think of anything to “disprove” of AFRID so it’s definitely still possible and a neat headcanon that I might adopt myself in addition, but I probably won’t add it to the list because i only want to put in stuff on the list I can prove. Thinking about it more, I’m going to replace anorexia with OSFED actually because I think that might fit better, since he doesn’t really fit the criteria of obsessing over weight/food.

For c!Niki having autism, maybe? She’s got that black and white worldview thing that some people with autism have, but that can be linked to her PTSD. Maybe as an additional headcanon. c!Niki with a personality disorder sounds like a cool idea but I think most of her struggles are all directly from her trauma rather than stuff that’s been present before Manberg/Nov 16.

I didn’t mean for this to get so long but yeah. I’m just talking about which ones make sense to go on the list for the aforementioned reasons I said in the first post, please don’t take this as saying the headcanons aren’t valid (because they are—I’m just trying to only add ones I can prove).
